This by far is our favorite and go to Indian place! We always get the butter chicken (medium is a good amount of spice for someone who can't have too much spice) and it's perfect to share for 2 people. We've also gotten the saag paneer, samosas, naan and paratha. They are always generous with the rice (packed to the brim, open the box over a bowl so the rice doesn't spill out!) This restaurant used to be my favorite in town, but has come under new ownership in the last couple years. Quality has changed, and there are strange things like dirty bussing carts blocking the bathroom door, plates stored across from the bathroom, dumping a glass of water back into the pitcher... I think this is our final visit. I'd love to know where the family who previously ran this place have gone, if to another restaurant! After 5-6 good to great takeout meals from Taz, I think it's time for me to give them a shout. We discovered this place during Covid, when they ran an efficient take out operation. We've kept coming back, even now that it's not on my way home from work. Our standard meal reeks of basic Americanized tastes. I couldn't care less. It's delicious. Chicken tikka masala brings plenty of rich flavor to good quality chicken. What's huge? They actually deliver when asked to make it spicy. There's none of that "American spicy" that other Indian and Thai restaurants often produce even after promising some heat. Tandoori chicken exceeds expectations with regard to flavor. It comes on a bed of peppers and onions; the former tweak the flavor. ask for just onions for the classic taste. Garlic naan is one of a long list of varieties and always hits the spot. I have also enjoyed the Chicken vindaloo, which definitely brings some heat. Samosas hit the spot, as well. Portions dwarf the typical offerings at other places and approach the amount I'd eat at a buffet. Every entree equals two solid meals. Staff are friendly on the phone and in person. They quote accurate times--I've never had to wait after arriving when they say food will be ready. Perhaps most impressive? Prices do not appear to have risen since 2020. While many Front Range eateries are either adding a few dollars to each item or, worse, adding bogus "creating happy people fees," Taz abides. We dig their food and their values. read more

Came on a weekday for lunch-- the restaurant wasn't packed at all. Service was attentive and the menu has good variety. Their lunch buffet is only offered Monday and Tuesday. For the two of us, we shared the chana masala, the non-veggie thali (lamb curry, chicken tikka, saag paneer with mini samosas and butter naan) and garlic naan. I also ordered the mango lassi, which is served in a large beer mug The lassi was delicious, as were the dishes. Each was savory and well-seasoned. Nothing was overly greasy. The chana masala had a very tomato-forward and refreshing flavor. The only thing that wasn't great was the rice-- it was kinda stale, and wasn't even basmati. It was short grain but not jasmine rice. Friday night and the place is rather empty for dinner. My daughter and I came because we love Indian cuisine and this location is close to her home. Upon entering, we were greeted and sat in a booth with huge posters covering the windows. The view obstructed, because who wants to see the drive through of Starbucks while dining? Haha We were hoping for the buffet during dinner, but that's only at lunchtime. Ordering off the menu, my daughter got chicken vindaloo with a side of their hottest sauce and I got chicken jahingir and a side of garlic naan to share. Jahingir is chicken and paneer and shrimp in a nice tomato sauce. I got mine medium spiciness. The naan was a little too cooked and not garlicky enough, but still tasty. Our order took a while to come out, but Oh My Gosh, so delicious! Everything was really well prepared and fabulous! I ordered this from UberEats last night and I'm so impressed! Such a shame it's rated 3/5 on Yelp because the food was so good! (All the reviews from the past year are glowing too!?) hoping my review helps boost this lil business. (: I ordered the tikka masala and garlic nan bread and had leftovers for lunch today. I always get the lamb korma and samosas. The korma is the best I've had in my life, it's got real dates, raisins, and coconut flake. More importantly it is so rich in flavor and complexity, it accentuates my fav protein lamb perfectly... which is also melt in your mouth tender. Their tandori is well seasoned and you get good portion for the price. Chicken is great, but give the fish a try if you want something new. Also really like how they have varying levels of heat to their dishes. Ask for 'extra spicy' if you're feeling daring. read more

Oh man, where do i start??? So i haven't actually sat down in the restaurant yet but i mean the food, HOT DAMN!!!!! So me and my wife ordered from here a couple weeks ago, she got the chicken masala, and i got the jalfrezie. My wife loved her masala, she said the chicken was super tender and the flavor of the masala was some of the best IVE ever tasted. The jalfrezie was some of the best flavor combos ive tasted with lamb and again the meat was super tender. This time i again got the jalfrezie (cause i knew i would like it and hadnt ate all day). The passion that i taste in this dish is amazing and the BEST part is, me and my family live like 6 mins from this place. Weve already decided to make this OUR indian restaurant as long as we live here and they continue to stay open. Side note: So i ordered on uber eats for pick up, someone accidentally picked up my order. The employee that i spoke to on the phone (im sorry i didnt catch your name, younger female) was awesome, called the lyft driver who took my food and got it back to the store, and told me she would hook me up on my next order. I would rate this 5 stars if it wasn't for the naan being so terrible. Delicious chicken tikki masala, they actually make it spicy when you ask for Indian hot. However the naan is always bad. Really enjoyed our first meal here! We ordered takeout which took about 25 minutes during the dinner rush. They very nicely gave me a mango lassi for my wait! It was of course delicious. The chicken biryani was super flavorful with well-cooked chicken. The paneer makhani (butter paneer) was SO good! My husband had the cheese kofta as well. I preferred the regular naan to the deep fried naan but this may be personal preference. All in all very yummy for a good price! read more

No this is not Indian food. If the place is run by Nepalese folks then call it so. There is a noticeable difference in taste compared to authentic Indian food. Service was just ok. Portions are tiny. Prices are just about ok. They missed an item but honestly it bothers me more to call something indian when it isn't. And since most of Denver is straight up white crowd it's easy for others to get by calling just about anything Indian here. Even the close to home item momo, was a disappointment. What was that weird sauce when it is served with red chilli sauce. I'd strongly recommend stick to your roots because I am huge fan of Nepalese and Tibetan food. Do it right and maybe that might be a great addition to the Denver food scene which seriously lacks range and diversity. Monsoon might still be the #1 place for North Indian in the whole of Denver-Aurora-Lakewood area imo. read more

I've been eyeballing Taz for years but there are so many Indian restaurants to choose from in the South Aurora area that it took me a long time to finally try them as they are a little further away from home than others. Well, they had a Groupon deal and were open on Christmas day, so that was an excellent opportunity to finally make the trip over. This is the first Indian restaurant I've ever been to (and I've been to many!) where I couldn't eat their hot level of curry. I took about four bites and had to call it quits. Luckily my server and the kitchen staff took pity on me and kindly replaced it with a medium level spice. Very good customer service! The dining area is nicely decorated and cozy and they have a very nice little bar as well. The cheese naan was good but the special naan I found to be lacking in fillings and dry. I like that this restaurant also offers a few Nepalese items like momo and noodles. I'll likely be back soon to try those. Overall, Taz didn't have the best Indian food I've tried in Aurora, but I'd put them in the top 50%. Definitely worth a visit if you live nearby. read more

Friday November 14th 2014. Time was about 19:15hrs ish. This establishment is situated in the Highline Villages strip mall. We came in, greeted by 2 staffs, and seats ourselves. We sat ourselves near the Entrance, on the Right Wing of this establishment. Hmmm, I guess, it was slightly chilly since the weather outside is WAY CHILLY then anticipated. Inside, was rather chilly too, since maybe its our "fault" seating near to the Entrance of Taz Indian Restaurant. *SIGH* On the Left Wing of this establishment is the BUFFET Trays or BUFFET Section, which on this evening, REMAINS Empty.. *DOUBLE SIGH* After having some conversations with the Chef's Daughter, with regards to certain items from their Menu, such as the Samosas, Vindaloo and Madrash. From their Simple Menu, we opt and ordered the following items : * Vegetable Samosa ($5.99) * Taz Special Naan ($3.99) The Special Naan is stuffed with option of Lamb, Chicken, Garlic, Cheese and Chilli (Choose 3 Combination) - We opt to have Lamb, Cheese and Chilli * Lamb Biryani ($14.99) * Lamb Madrash ($14.99) Beverages : * Chai Tea ($1.99) * Coffee with Milk ($1.99) * Water The staff gave us Complimentary Papadum which somehow was a little "stale", NOT Crunchy, or NOT Crispy, aka to our liking aka NOT FRIED that evening, or have been kept in a container for a long time. *SIGH* The staffs ask if we want the Vegetable Samosas either in 6 mini pieces or 2 big pieces. We opt to have the 2 Big Pieces. That is good, if they offer options of the kind of Samosas based on Patrons decision. First came the Vegetable Samosa. YES it comes out piping hot from the fryer but its was a little bland and under-seasoned. YES its FRIED in crispy pastry with Mashed Potatoes with some Peas. It comes with 2 dipping sauce, the Tamarind and Mint Chutney. I like the Mint Chutney coz its a little spicy and very "addictive". Then comes with our order of Lamb Biryani and Lamb Madrash. Hubs did not fancy or did not like his order of Lamb Biryani. *SAD FACE* The Lamb Biryani get a "MEH" and it lacks some of the essential spices that we are familiar with Biryani. I guess Taz Indian Restaurant Biryani its just one tone, one dimension of flavor aka DO NOT WOW us at all. *SIGH* As for the Lamb Madrash, its SPICY to my liking, though they can be MORE SPICY. Hence I think this Lamb Madrash is my next mission to compare to other Indian Restaurants in town. YES, it comes out BRIGHT RED! Maybe with the " food coloring" or the SPICES that they put in the Madrash dish itself. For this alone, it received 3 stars in my personal taste buds and personal books. Hmm, now I am intrigued on how to cook Madrash dish from scratch! With our order of Taz Special Naan, the Lamb that we opt for, came to a minimal at best, though its stuffed with Cheese and Chilli. For this Taz Special Naan, I wish they could increase the Lamb "pieces" and make it more "fluffier" kind of Naan. Overall the service from the staffs are indeed inviting and they answered all our questions in terms on what they offer. May return when needed since they offer LUNCH BUFFET everyday (Monday-Sunday) though unlikely... but I may just have to convince Hubs, the next time we come for a visit, maybe that Vindaloo dish can "win" our hearts, err in this case our tummy. They are in the midst to have things running smoothly, more like with a Bar and other dishes to offer during LUNCH Buffet in a couple of weeks.. 3 stars at best. Left Taz Indian Restaurant at about 20:30hrs ish. From their Paper Menu, or TO GO Menu, its stated that they offer DELIVERY. Taz Indian Restaurant is opened DAILY from 11 am to 10pm. I stopped by after seeing a friend's recent review. The service was friendly and attentive. The buffet was well-priced. Here's my breakdown of pros and cons. Pros: They had a mix of vegetarian and meat dishes. I was pleasantly surprised to have a nice, fluffy basket of naan. This was really a nice touch. The carrot halwa was delicious. My favorite dishes were the saag planner, vegetable biryani, and chicken korma. Cons: They appeared to have a limited selection of dishes. The tandoori chicken was a bit dry. I felt that many of the dishes could have used more spices in them. I still miss my old go-to Indian buffet, and my journey continues to find the perfect one for me in Denver. read more

Very nice Indian buffet for lunch. Any American can enjoy the variety of options. Very mild seasoning, none of the entree was spicy. Hot naan included and chai included. More sweet than hot across all selections. I would suggest tandoori chicken first. Biriyani is mild. Just add salt. read more

I popped in on a Sunday afternoon, thinking I would order to go but decided to dine in because there were only two other people there. I was giddy to see veggie thali on the menu, a combination platter that includes saag paneer, veggie korma, and bhartha makhani (a delicious mashed eggplant dish), plus naan, basmati rice, and the cutest mini samosas. With the suspension of buffets everywhere, this dish is a great alternative if you want to try many flavors at once. Each dish was so tasty and brightly spiced and the ambience was friendly and warm. I moved near this restaurant recently and wanted to give them a try. My first impression was a dead lobby... only one table was occupied and only four other patrons came to the restaurant as I dined. Service was slow, and our server young, awkward and inattentive at times, but the food was delicious. $12-15 per plate. The flavors are strong and most meats are cooked to perfection. One major complaint I have is if you order anything with shrimp, make sure you tell your server to actually include it in the dish. I had ordered some masala dish with shrimp and out came this massive and delicious plate... with literally three shrimp in the whole thing. Three. Three shrimp. Honestly that's enough for me to remove two stars on its own because if I'm paying $16-$17 for a dish with shrimp, I expect to have more than three. Also, I asked for hot sauce and was brought a little metal bowl with a red sauce that tasted like enchilada sauce. At a Nepali restaurant? Come on, now. I also showed my server a 10% off coupon and he neglected to include it in my bill, and was running around too crazily to stop by my table and have me ask him to fix it. I'd love to come back but this restaurant loves to charge you more and serve you less. Please make it up to me, Taz, and I'd be happy to change my review to a five star. My husband and I came here one night when he had a craving for Indian food. We walked in to a beautiful decorated but awkwardly empty building and were directed to choose a booth. We ordered and after a brief wait we were brought a basket of delicious garlic naan and shortly after butter chicken and chicken masala, both served family style with rice. Both dishes were excellent, though we probably could have shared just one of them and had plenty. This is now my husbands favorite spot for Indian food. read more
