This place is absolute trash. It's a hot spot for Ferris kids, but some of them look so young I wonder how they got in in the first place. Terrible music and the dance floor is either completely empty or filled with skeezy guys looking for some pretty young drunk to grab. The bar in the middle seems way too small considering how much business this place turns, and it's basically impossible to get a drink on weekends unless you haul your breasts up and over the bar and wave your dollars at a bartender like a crazy person trying to catch the last bus in existence. I will say that they have great drink specials sometimes, but that's the only redeeming factor and it's just not good enough for me to bring myself to award two stars. If you're looking to get trashed and you're pretty enough to catch the bartender's eye, knock your socks off at Shooters. If you're an average person who wants at least passable service and a semi-decent time out, take your business elsewhere. If you're looking for a great bar to just chill at and grab a drink, this might be the place for you. On the other hand, if you like dancing, they have a great DJ too. One thing is for sure, they're staff/bartenders are pretty great, except for one in particular. Tonight, I asked the bartender serving me to make me a drink with just three simple ingredients. Easy, right? Apparently not. He literally said, "I'm not doing that, man..." and proceeded to walk away. If he doesn't want my money, thats fine, I'll just take my business elsewhere. I remember when this place opened... ( OK, I'm a townie and was only 12. But still...) Largest meat market north of Grand Rapids. Drunk 40 year old hicks hitting on college girls. Hip hop and country in the same DJ set. Watered down drinks unless you are part of the Big Rapids Bartender's Local 231. My membership expired in 2001. *tear* Oh, and you can play pool while you watch college kids from the city get into fights with the locals over the aforementioned girls. They used to have decent food at lunch time but it slowly started tasting more and more like dog food. I don't understand why ANYBODY goes to Shooters. Once heralded as a spectacular pool hall, it's down to two out-of-service tables which now serve as benches. The floors and bar are caked with the glue-like residue from countless spilled drinks. Said drinks are outrageously overpriced; I paid $4.50 for a mixed drink that came in a plastic Dixie cup and tasted only of soda water as the syrup cartridges were evidently on their last legs. And the only way anyone that isn't of the fraternity or sorority elite can get service on a weekend is to throw yourself over the bar and into the path of the clearly overwhelmed bartenders. And the clientele! You're lucky to see three people at the bar outside of the weekend. Otherwise, it's underage college and high school girls being passed around by party boys doing cocaine off the backs of their hands. I'm just surprised the floor hasn't caved in yet. read more

Used to hang brain with my boys all the time at this place. Mike and I used to toss our brains out in the bathroom all the time like a huge wad of chewed up gum. This was great until all of those damn college students showed up and wash out the whole scene. Now I have to find another joint to flop my brain out when I please, disappointing. read more

With all the new improvements inside its a great place to meet up for a drink with friends or even grab a quick bite to eat. They have the best wings in town by far and the loaded waffle fries are a must have if you have never tried them. The expert bar staff pours the best drinks with a perfect mix in each one so your not just drinking straight liquor. read more

Fac is always a great time. Jessica is normally the only server on during it and kicks butt. Not a lot of people know about their food menu. Last Friday we actually decided to order off of it and it was great especially for the price. All of the staff is normally super friendly. Great for college students. The overall appearance has changed recently and looks as if they are going to continue to do so. The new wooden tables by the pool table really help. The server knew the entire menu and suggested drinks right off the bat and consistently checked back even with how busy we were. You can tell that a lot of people go there due to all of the laughing and sound you hear. You also notice a lot of alumni coming back to visit. read more

Great setting and great music! Love spending the weekend nights here! The only thing I don't like about shooters is their new male bartender who won't even serve water to minors. A minor can walk up to the bar and before they can even ask for a water he yells no at them and makes them leave. Shooters need to train their bartenders to not be so rude to minors. read more

Complete dump. It's evident they cater towards broke college kids looking for dollar drafts. Not sure if they still make food but would rather eat at a gas station than here. Went in for a quick drink after the homecoming parade this past weekend and there was literally no one else in there - obviously for a reason. Only 2 pool tables left and one was out of order (and this was once their main draw with at least 8 or 10 really nice tables). Was a student there when it opened and some of the remaining light fixtures look like they haven't been dusted since. read more

This is a good place to go with your friends. There is a lot of room and barely fills up to tight to move. The wings are very good and on tuesday they have dollar drinks until 12. read more

Shooters is the bees knees! The people that wrote them wack reviews are clearly wankers. Ya your feet might occasionally get stuck to the floor, or you might get caught in the middle of a townie fight. But shit that's what gives the bar it's character, gotta love it! #starshooters read more
