There's lots of smog stations out there, but I'd rather find a place that's reliable and honest. This place is both, the owner does it by appointment only, but setting it up over phone was super easy. Some places I've been are shady and you can tell the employees are just hire by-the-hour. It's nice to find a smog place like this that I know will be here year after year. The price was great too, but I wouldn't have mind paying more for the assurance. read more

Wow, what to say? Justin is The Man to go to for smog or really any business he wants to pursue! Super friendly, knowledgeable, communicative, and time efficient. Called and made an appointment for later in the day. Was there for my 4:30 appt and he was ready. I needed the Star certified smog test so it's supposed to take a little longer but Justin is still fast. I was there and out in under 17 minutes and barely had time to sit down and do my crossword puzzle... and I'm pretty fast with my crosswords. Star certified is $10 more than the regular smog but I still got a great deal at $50. Thanks again Justin! I'll be back again next time. Have a happy holiday! read more

This year, I procrastinated and waited until the last minute to get my smog check. This meant I needed quick same day service that gave me a print out to take to the dmv so I could get my paperwork in on time. I called ahead and they said to come in. There was one guy in front of me so there was a short wait but not too bad. Within 30 minutes, I was out of there and on my way. Great price too. Highly recommend. read more

I arrived slightly earlier than the schedule time, but none other than Jerold himself greeted me. Just got my Toyota RAV4 smogged for $40 out-the-door. Great price! No extra charge for it being a SUV. I was greeted by a friendly young lady as I drove up. Justin was also friendly and professional. Was in and out in 10 minutes. I had been to this exact same place 12+ years ago for a Test Only smog on my old Ford F150. That guy was not ethical. It is so obvious this is NOT the same company. Wow. What a difference from where I normally go. Justin came out to greet me with a "hello..how are you today!" So sweet. Nice clean area and waiting room. I told him that I came there years ago and the guy yelled at me for just pulling up and getting out to ask if I had to make an appointment. He said that he has been here for three years now!! So refreshing to see a young man with customer service skills. So kind and friendly and efficient. Definitely will be coming back here. Noticed a card and flyer of "Healthy Dose Med Spa" inside and inquired. His girlfriend's spa in San Mateo. Will be showing that to family and friends too. That's what good customer service does...word of mouth and good experiences make it all worthwhile for business!! Quick and easy smog check at only $40 if you mention or show the coupon (might be more for certain types and years). They responded pretty quickly over email, but it's easier to book an appt over the phone. Since it's seemingly the best deal in town, there were a few cars already waiting when I called. Friendly, quick and cost-effective service. I stopped by the gas station before coming here to fill-up my tank and the quote was 50% more expensive and the guy said I had to wait 45 minutes. I imagine they get a lot of business and people who don't shop around because they were on a busy street. This shop is tucked away off the major street. They had me in and out in under 10 minutes. I was blown away how quickly they were. The people were really friendly and professional and the price was great. I'd definitely recommend this to everyone in the area. read more

But as soon as I called to check if star smog can do my smog & quote me a price, they did! $50 is what I paid & they were done within 15 minutes! Then you have the occasional car passing from Bunkar Hill. Just don't get the word around that this gas station is always peaceful and conveniently located, that is if you are willing to drive up to the top of the hill, depending on where you're coming from.

I called Wednesday, was able to get scheduled in the following Monday, 5 days later. Dropped the car off at 8AM which took less than 5min. Got a call back around 2:15PM same day that my car was done. Picked it up, paid, and this process took less than 10min. The thing I love about C&T is how thorough they are, as mentioned earlier. They take the time to inspect the vehicle and note anything strange. This information is then passed onto the customer once they pick up their car. They even found a loose screw that was creating a small brake fluid leak in one of my calipers and they tightened and cleaned it up without my prior knowledge. Thank you so much! Even the slightest sounds the car makes, they will inspect and find the source without you having to ask. This is what the community needs, a great Toyota mechanic that is honest, straightforward, and thorough. Keep up the excellent work!

They even showed me the appointment list for the day, and they were basically fully booked! The whole process was super quick and easy. They've got a nice waiting room and a clean bathroom as well. Fantastic Experience with Older Car at Burlingame Smog!…read more This place is great, and their technician, Manny, is the best! Very highly recommended in every way, don't be put off if the phone call takes a few attempts. My old 1994 Dodge Intrepid had failed smog at a place in San Francisco. I took action to remedy the problem, ran fuel cleaner through it, changed the oil, put lower octane gas in it and replaced the spark plugs myself, making sure to gap each one very carefully. On the retest in San Francisco, the guy was continuously distracted and let my car idle for nearly an hour before doing the test. The car failed on the first low-speed test because the intake was too full of gasoline from idling too long, but it was fine on the high speed test which made me suspicious of the initial low speed run coming off of a long period of idling. I'm never going back to that place. Because I was raised in Burlingame, I decided to find a place here to do the smog test. A quick search turned up Burlingame Smog. The Yelp reviews looked good, so I called them up. Don't be dismayed if the phone doesn't pick up on the first try, this is a small shop, and Manny has to do double and triple duty. On my second call, it rang for quite a while, and then I noticed that Manny was calling me back while I was still on call waiting. When I arrived, everything was great. Manny was very friendly, and right off the bat, I could tell he was sharp. He immediately noticed my worn engine mounts and the very old rear tires that needed replacing (I had already ordered some). He even pointed out some signs of arcing around my spark plug wires where I had reinstalled them. Turns out Manny is also a mechanic and really knows what he's talking about! And, he cares! I told Manny about my experience in San Francisco--how the car had idled too long before the test--and he agreed that could have been the problem. He was very careful to make sure my car was properly warmed up and that any accumulated moisture/gas in the tailpipe was expelled before the test. Manny studied the results of my last three smog tests and knew exactly what to do to make sure my HC levels passed. To say he knows what he's doing is an understatement and he's a very nice guy! This was my best smog testing experience ever! Very highly recommended in every way, don't be put off if the phone call takes a few attempts. It's well worth the effort! Also worth every penny of the price, a bit higher than most, but well worth it for the professionalism and results!
