The offending hole - now perfectly fixed.

I had heard the locals rave about the service at this station, so I get my gas here even though it is a bit tucked away, and therefore is less top-of-mind than the station up the street. This week, I was so glad that it is my go-to! My tire started to rapidly deflate on the 280 just before the Bunker Hill exit, so I turned off, and rolled down the hill and into the station, by which time my tire was completely flat, at 9psi. At was 6:45pm at the end of a long day at work. Ugh. I was already mentally trying to reschedule my next day to deal with this. Hari was still there. He greeted me with a friendly smile, found the hole, and insisted he could fix it right then, and be done in 20 mins. In 20 mins, with surprisingly minimal cost, I was on my way. This truly made my week. Amazing, thank you Hari and team!

Fast, quality service. I was in and out for a tire repair within 45 mins and the cost $30 to plug tire repair.

Again I was helped by Sean and again it was a 5 star visit. The work was done in a timely manner, price was fair and customer service was excellent. Came in to have Check Engine Light issue fixed so I could register the car…read more They did their diagnosis, got the error code identified, they replaced parts, I paid $1600 and picked up the car...only to have the check engine light come back on as soon as I started the engine. I was a little frustrated because they told me the problem was fixed. I immediately brought the back, had it re-diagnosed, and was later told there is another issue which would cost $700 (after a bit of a discount), and there could be more after that. It's an older car, but with relatively low mileage for its age (20 year old Lexus sedan with 105k miles). At least this time I was told there are potentially other underlying issues, which could be cost prohibitive. After this second round of repairs, I was told they'd have to partially take apart the engine because "it could be..." I didn't want to continue this process if they weren't even sure what the problem is and I would have to pay them more so they could "maybe find" what is causing the check engine light. They seemed to be more diligent this second time, and took a little more care to see if the check engine light issue was fully resolved. Good on them for their second effort. I wish they could have done a more thorough check the first time instead of it seeming so exploratory. Maybe that's how the problem had to be discovered, but it felt like it was more process of elimination than a targeted solution. I can disconnect and reconnect my battery and get the same results of the check engine light off for a few days. I took the car back now $2400 lighter in the pocket, unclear if the two parts they replaced may have still been functioning, and with my check engine light still on. I feel it was a misdiagnosis of the problem initially. If they properly diagnosed the problem, my decision making would have been different. Instead, I feel as if I got strung along for two payments if I wanted to have my car back that I still can't register.

The owner called me to ask about additional service before changing me. I have trust in the quality of the service and I'm certain the prices were decent. We never asked for discounts or special deals--we were happy to pay whatever he charged because we believe in supporting small businesses and expected quality work in return. Unfortunately, we've lost confidence in the quality of the work. We recently learned that an exhaust repair on our SUV we were told was properly fixed was not and now we have to pay to have it redone. The most concerning issue happened yesterday with the same SUV. We paid for what we were told were heavy-duty towing capacity brakes, but while driving downhill with all five of our children in the truck, the brakes failed to stop the vehicle properly. We had to use the emergency brake and put the truck in park to avoid a potentially serious accident. That experience alone was enough for us to never return. There were also a couple of occasions when tools were accidentally left under the hood in the engine compartment after repairs and a time where we noticed the engine compartment plastic cover was broken and mentioned it to Fed and he said it came to the shop like that which further raised concerns about the level of care being taken. We also dealt with recurring check engine lights after repairs and were repeatedly told it was just because the truck is old. However, this is a vehicle we drive only once or twice a week for short trips and have always maintained carefully. Another frustration is that we repeatedly requested detailed invoices outlining the work performed on our vehicles, but despite asking on several occasions, we still have not received them. Quality workmanship and safety matter. Based on our experience, we cannot recommend this shop.

I had a…read moreterrible experience with a local dealer trying to repair my C7, and after constant unresolved problems, I decided to take it to someone else.. I found Clarity, which luckily is a very short drive from my house. They were extremely communicative and transparent throughout the entire process. Did a full inspection on top of the issues that I brought it in for and they made recommendations, but I did not feel pressured to make any decisions. Ultimately I got everything done anyway and they were so quick. They sent photos of the car and photos confirming the issues they found as well. Not a shady shop at all in my opinion. I also brought it in on a Monday morning, the car was ready by I think Thursday or Friday that week. After dealing with my car sitting at the dealer for months with little to no communication, this was a HUGE relief for me. So I decided to bring it in again to get my new rims installed. Literally within a couple hours the car was ready to be picked up, the process was super easy overall. These guys will be my go to for any future repairs or general maintenance that I need from now on. I highly recommend them. Thank you to the entire team at Clarity for coming through and getting everything done in such a timely manner.

Unprofessional communication and questionable billing practices…read more Based on my recent experience regarding an AC repair, I recommend avoiding Clarity at all costs. I brought my vehicle in for a diagnosis and received a four-item quote (compressor, condenser, lines, and recharge). I originally accepted this quote with an agreed-upon completion of the end of the next business day. The issues began with communication: Late-stage changes: At 5:20 PM the day before the work was set to commence, I received a text stating the parts supplier had changed, the price had increased, and the timeline was being extended. They also requested a deposit despite not doing so earlier. Lack of transparency: When I asked for a breakdown of the price increase, I was simply sent a link to a long PDF rather than a clear explanation or a phone call to discuss the new terms. The most concerning part of the experience: Because I had not yet approved the new, higher quote or the extended timeline, I messaged them the following morning to decline the job. I was told they had already removed my compressor. Management's stance was that because I had originally approved the "items" on the first quote, they were entitled to start work on those specific parts--even though the total project cost and timeline had changed and I had not signed off on the revised estimate. The shop manager told me I needed to "take accountability" and that this was a "me problem." I was ultimately charged an hour labor just to get my car back. If you value clear communication and a pleasant customer service experience, avid Clarity Auto at all costs. It's genuinely the worst customer experience I've had.
