Decided to get my car smogged at this location after reading the good reviews. There were so many smog places to choose from so I was happy to find a place people seemed to be pleased with. The young lady that greeted me when I arrived was very nice. The guy doing the smog was a totally different story. He was not nice or friendly at all. I ignored it only because the lady helping me was so nice. My car did not pass smog because i just had bodywork done on my car and the battery had been disconnected so I was told to drive it 100 miles and come back to complete the smog. As the guy backed my car out for me, I heard a loud sound. I couldn't figure out what the sound was and the guy said nothing. I went back today to complete the smog. I drove up their ridiculously steep and narrow driveway and heard the loud sound and realized it was the skirt of my car hitting the sharp angle going up the driveway. There was no way to avoid it. As I pulled in, the unfriendly guy stood there yelling at me to stop. I rolled down my window and he basically asked me what I wanted. I said I was there to complete my smog. He looked as if he had never seen me before and was extremely rude. He said do you have the paperwork with you. I handed him my paperwork and he hands it back to me and says I gave him the DMV paperwork. He did not bother to turn the pages to see the smog info was attached. I told him just to look me up on his computer since I was there a few weeks ago. He finds my info and then hooks up a diagnostic computer to my car and shows me it won't pass smog. He basically said I needed to make sure I drive the 100 miles. I said okay and then asked if there was a certain way I should back out my car so the skirt of my car does not get damaged and that when he pulled it out last time, I realized the loud noise I heard was because the skirt of my car hit the sharp angle of the driveway. He told me to angle the car as I backed out. I did what he said and again, I heard the skirt hit the sharp angle. I stopped and pulled back in and asked him to back it out for me. He was SO ANNOYED and SO RUDE. He proceeded to back it out and AGAIN hit the skirt with the sharp angle of the driveway and got out of the car and said nothing and walked right past me back into his shop. With so many smog shops to choose from, DO NOT GO HERE. For one, I am sure there are other smog shops that truly appreciate the business AND that care about making sure they help you navigate your car into and out of the shop when they are fully aware the unusual steepness and weird angles of the driveway will damage your car. Even though I paid for part of the smog...I WILL NOT go back to this shop to finish it. I will start all over with another shop. Plenty of other places to choose from! This guy is just one very unhappy and miserable man. read more

Called and said there would be a 15min wait. I said okay and made my way over. When i showed up, he tells me the machine does not work cause my car is older. Pretty frustrating after driving all the way there to be honest. Update: I realized the main reason this place did not want to do my smog test is because, for older models vehicles, the test needs to be done manually and it takes much longer. read more

We were greatly disappointed by this place. We brought our car because of great reviews that we heard. BEWARE because this place tries to take advantage of people especially in midst of a pandemic. We towed our car here for a starter problem. We were quoted that it will take 3 HOURS. We consulted with a family member who is a Manager at a dealership and informed us that this is outrageous and that for a starter for the specific car will only take 0.8 hour (NOT EVEN AN HOUR!). We were quoted almost $900, again for a STARTER! We wasted $300 for tow because we brought it to this place. We found another GREAT AUTO SHOP nearby and towed our car FOR FREE and what we paid was only $286! And as informed, the car was done in UNDER ONE HOUR! We understand that everyone need to make money but this is insanely ridiculous to take advantage of people. How do you expect to get a business this way? It was fast as the name. It was easy and hassles less. What else do you need for Smog test?

Moving to a new place, my biggest challenges are finding a new hairdresser, figuring out how/where to workout and finding a reliable mechanic to take care of the car. I used Yelp and found Quik Smog when I was looking to register my car and needed a smog check. I used a coupon but I guess they aren't doing that anymore. There are different kinds of smog checks, one is more expensive than the other so one should know that before comparing. Bottom line is, I passed the smog and found a great mechanic. I had a "check engine" light on that I'd taken to two different mechanics. They couldn't find anything wrong and couldn't get it to turn off. I had to get that fixed to pass but David did it. He found it, fixed it, turned it off. I've taken my car to him many times now and have been pleased with the results. In between, I took it somewhere else to get new brakes because I didn't realize he did more than smog. Boy am I sorry. I spent way too much on the other guys and didn't get great work. This is a family run business. David pretty much does everything and the prices are really reasonable. The other place I went had three people sitting behind desks while (no doubt underpaid) workers fixed the cars. I never talked to the person working on my car. So yeah, sometimes he isn't there on time or his kids are there or his wife is helping out but they'll bend over backwards for you because they care. That makes for a lot in my book. read more

This is probably the best experience I've had at any Smog check. The service was quick, friendly, AND cheaper than all the other places around the area. We called to ask about the wait time and headed straight there on a Sunday afternoon around 2:30pm. There was one car ahead of us that was finishing up, and we were up next. Let me tell you the saga of my smog check for this year. [Skip to the last paragraph if you want just the results at Quik Smog.] I've owned a 99 VW Cabrio, my baby, for two years. As soon as I purchased it, I upgraded to an aftermarket stereo and tossed that factory-installed trash it came with, and drove off blissfully into the sunset. Fast forward two years. I take it to the neighborhood smog check place, NOT this one (does anyone know how they decide you need one, anyways?) and the guy goes out to my car, takes one look at it, and says, "I can't test this." And I'm like, "Excuse me?" He tells me that according to Appendix J, all VWs from 1997-2002 with aftermarket stereos cause an electrical surge which destroys the testing equipment. Therefore, he cannot test it. Dumbfounded, I stand there gaping at him and ask, "So how am I supposed to get my smog check?" He suggests reinstalling the factory stereo and coming back. Thanks for the suggestion, idiot. So I'm at a loss here. I decided to try out my backup place, Quik Smog, and see what they would do for me. Quik Smog greeted me with a friendly smile, and I immediately felt welcome there - as though they actually wanted my business and were genuinely happy I had chosen them. After hearing my story, they willingly attempted the smog check - which didn't get farther than an initial plug in which failed to communicate with the main machine. They didn't charge me anything for this, and suggested I call the dealership to find out what to do. I left bummed about the car but thrilled with the service. So I called not the dealership, not one mechanic, but three mechanics. Only Fred's Garage in Redwood City (thanks Yelp!) had any idea what this was about and how to fix it - knowledge they dispensed for free over the telephone. They had run into this multiple times, whereas the other mechanics were trying to recall some footnote in a car magazine somewhere. All I had to do was disconnect the stereo. Next day I bring the car back to Quik Smog, with disembodied stereo pieces in my passenger seat. The guys remembered who I was, and greeted me with a cheerful, "Is it fixed now?" I laughed and said, "Let's see!" They had a car on the line then, but I was next up. They gave it a try and it worked beautifully this time around! So I filled out their forms and they ran the check (she passed, woo!). I didn't have the online coupon, but they discounted my test to $60 anyways without me even asking for it. So, not the cheapest place to get your check done, but effective, friendly and fast. They only take walk-ins, and I never saw more than three cars there at any given time, so I'd guess average wait is less than 30min. There are magazines and water in a waiting room off the garage. After my stressful experience, I would happily return here again. And for you VW owners out there, disconnect the stereo first!! read more

Great service , quick and nice jobs has been done by the guy who works there or maybe he is the owner . The only problem is pricey $$$$. Most of the places are about $35 but here I paid $58. You might say it's just $23 more WTF??? For some people like me the $23 is a lot . So far I am happy with the service he provided and I will recommend other to come who has extra $23 :))) read more

3 out of 3 cars smogged. Easy peasy. No drama considering I have a 1981 Chevy full sized van and the smog check is the old school non computer check. Friendly and professional services from David and Hiro. David's wife comes in and helps on occasion. Now they do oil change services. A BIG plus! On the down side, waiting room is kinda small and has no AC and today is a record hi temp. Good thing I brought my own water. I didn't try the TV because I was busy writing this review. $70 isn't exactly cheap, but you have to realize that if you have an older car (I have a 96 Chevy Blazer) or if you happen to get selected in the "test only Lottery," you will likely need to take it to a test-only store, which *only* does smog tests. And as such, those cost more than your typical "Arco Smog Pros" or what have you. Bobby was extremely helpful, and we were in and out in less than 30 minutes. read more

The staff here are very friendly and courteous. Told me they were finishing up one car in 5 minutes and the process takes 15 minutes.
