I had my smog check at Star Smog and Lube on Sat., Sept 20th. I was early, as I had a 12:30 time for the appointment but arrived at 11:30. Rida, as the service person, was awesome with her suppirt, immediate, attention that it could be done early. She was gracious and handled everything so quickly and professionally. I have had smog test for all the cars I haqve owned but never have had it accomplished so quicly and professionally. Please do give them your attention so you can receive the same. Plus 2: Convenient location & quick smog check Minus 3: He did not qualify me enough or didn't care if it passed or not as he's going to make money on the second test anyways. My car was not ready for smog as there had been work done on it earlier this month. He should have told me to go back to my mechanic that did the work and make sure it's ready to be smogged. They also will not retest for free or discounted and they did not make that clear, and yes there are a lot of places that will retest at no charge. The young lady behind the desk was a little rude when I checked in, was early, no other car there, was told to take a seat, a few mins before my appointment time, btw, was the only person in the waiting room, was handed the invoice for the smog service, wasn't given an opportunity to pay with cash, but was charged an extra $3.70 for using a credit card. No details about the price until she handed me the invoice, and it was for over $126.00 for the smog check. Seems kind of high, imo, and when I said wow, the young lady behind the desk was like whatever. Quite sure I will not recommend this place or ever have anything done here again. BEWARE OF BAIT AND SWITCH!!! They quoted me $29.95 using a coupon for a smog check on my 2005 Honda Element. I booked an appointment for 12:30pm. When I got there they had double booked. This is a late post, but with all the political chaos going on I just have to say... About a year or two ago, I was waiting to have my car smog'd and when trying to pay at the counter, the lady* at the front desk starts blabbing on to me about Q-ANON, asking me if I watch him, if I knew that Obama was a distant relative of Hilter, and all this conspiracy nonsense. She shows me her phone which has a video stream of a hooded dude in the shadows - as if I wanted to watch. Like what?... lady, first off I don't care, let alone believe a word that you're or he's saying, but why the heck are you shoving this down a customers face when I'm just trying to pay and get out of there. I get it, people are entitled to believe whatever they want, fantasy or not, but please keep those personal matters away from the business - keep it to yourself. *for factual purposes only and for your heads up, this was a middle aged white lady - not sure if there's more than one. I don't recall her name but based on the responses here, she likely could have been the manager/owner. BTW the smog service was fine.
