This place was amazing for a few reasons- My car had several needs including brakes, rotors, serpentine belt, tune up, and a starter- They were able to address and fix each of the above stated issues in a single visit- all work was completed in about 3.5 hours and the pricing was MORE than fair- which is very much appreciated, especially around the holidays! All of the employees I interacted with were extremely nice, knowledgeable, and well informed when asked questions about my vehicle. The waiting area was clean and they had cable and internet services to keep my 6 year old occupied while waiting- she even scored a doughnut from Branden, one of the employees- (ask for him- he's great!) They treated me as if I were a priority, addressed all of my concerns, and made sure I was informed and happy with the services before leaving! I drove an hour and a half to have my car issues addressed here on a recommendation from a friend- it was WELL worth the trip and I will definitely continue to utilize their services in the future :) read more

I showed up and the guy, who said he was very new to the job, was courteous and professional and I was out the door by 9:30, no fuss, no muss. And no up-sell, as the price was indeed $48. I took my car to Smog Repair & Lube on Saturday and had a great experience! The staff was friendly and very knowledgeable. The receptionist, Selena quoted me $39.95 for a smog check. After the inspection, the mechanic, Abdul, provided a list of items that needed immediate attention: timing belt, fuel gasket, and transmission fluid. I came here for oil change and tire rotation. I was greeted nicely. The front desk lady is very nice and helpful. They completed my oil change very quickly. I have used these guys for years and have to say, they are very good and fairly priced. Also, when my car didn't pass due to not driving it enough after the battery had discharged, they advised me to drive it for awhile to clear the computer. I did what they told me to do and it passed on the retest. The retest only cost $10.00 which was very fair. read more

I needed a smog inspection for my 2008 RAV4, so I went into a smog station on Mt Diablo Blvd in Lafayette and they wanted $98...yikes! I said no way and went onto Groupon and purchased one for $39 for this location. I drove there today, with no appointment at about 10:00am on a Monday and I had no wait time! I only had to pay an additional $8.25 for my smog certificate and the woman in the office was VERY nice and helpful! I walked in already thinking I was going to reiterate the great reviews, except for one mishap.The receptionist didnt realize my car was ready, keys had been sitting on her desk, and had me wait for another needless half hour, the whole time I thought everyone else had appointments. But this was the last of my errand for the day so I was patient for the most part. She made it up by giving me a discount. All in all, I like this place. If you want to leave your car for two hours to get your oil changed this is the place! Or you could get turned away on your second attempt to redeem your Groupon for this oil change because the shop closes in 40 minutes and then get made to feel like a fool because "you wouldn't show up at a restaurant" that soon before closing (I'm guessing the young man who made that comparison isn't the most experienced with dining out) then definitely go here. I had a 10:00a appointment for a smog test. I arrived at 9:55a, my car was moved into the shop at 10:00a and I was out of there 15 minutes later. Lady at the desk was helpful and very accommodating when I couldn't find my amazing coupon that was almost 40% less than any other place in town. I will return. read more

I was told there was one car on the machine and this sweet elderly woman was ahead of me ( my words not theirs!) The gal at the desk said she knew nothing about any appointments so I showed her the confirmation THEY sent me ! I had already made my mind up to let the cute old gal go ahead of me , she was very sweet , Then , they turn into the gift that keeps giving ! The kid in the shop comes in the lobby stating "the machine needs calibrating, already tried it once , I'll try again , gonna be about 15 minutes . Instead of calibrating the machine he goes out and starts smoking a cigarette ! So , that said , for not even trying to get the ball rolling , 0 stars , I'll never go back even if it was free ! read more
