I've been here a few times with different cars for smog checks and an oil change. They always mail out coupons, and I've never had any problems using them when I come in. I always go in when they open, so the wait isn't too long. They have seats and a TV to watch while you wait, and they also offer free wi-fi (which every business should be able to offer these days). I called Smog Center, the one that used to be on Mt Diablo Blvd and he said they now moved to this location. I used Smog Center 3 other times with great experience and price each time. My experience here was just the same as I am use to... perfect. I called, asked for the price which was $38, he said there was no wait. Drove over, a few people were there but my truck was taken immediately. Out the door in under 30 min and only $38. Nice clean waiting room and plenty of mags to read. I have to say I wasn't impressed with today's service from them. My family is traveling during the holiday and I wanted to get a fast oil change tune up. We have taken all our vehicles there over the years and are repeat customers. I stopped by after work and was given 'sorry we are not taking more customers today. We close at 5pm". I explained that it wasn't 5pm and that I am repeat customer traveling over the holidays. She said sorry but not going to help me. They didn't appear to be busy....It would have been good service to at least ask oil change techs if they might consider stepping up for a returning customer. Oh well. I literally went around the corner and Jiffy lube Walnut creek was more than happy to service my vehicle. I was in and out of Jiffy Lube in less than 15 mins.... Too bad the opportunity was missed to go give a returning customer some good local service. That's why I like to frequent local businesses for this reason. HONEST SHOP I made a appointment to have my car tuned up, replace timing belt and water pump on my Honda. I got a phone call 30 minutes later suggesting I check my service records because the timing belt and spark plugs look new. So I check and it was done at the Honda dealer a year ago. I must have forgotten. Smog repair and lube saved me 800 bucks wow. They could have easily did the job anyways. But there mechanic are very competent and honest. This has never happened to me before usually I get a call and the cost it more. But not at this shop, I will tell all my friends and family. They won a customer for life. Thanks guys. I was scheduled for a Smog check at 2pm but because of unexpectedly light traffic I arrived about 20 minutes early. Since they were just finishing up the customer ahead of me they took my car right in. They were finished in 15 minutes, including transferring the data to DMV. (and the car passed). I came in with a mailer coupon for a smog check for the first time. I was greeted with a smile and the feeling that they were right on top of it. Stevie, the front dedk gal, was quick, professional, and friendly. I asked her where I could go to grab a coffee and she showed me where they offer coffee and walked me through it! I love the decor of this place! There is a couch that looks like a car trunk with a seat in it. Lots of fun photos of vintage cars and old out of state license plates! An old jukebox is the coffee stand. There are two gas pumps that are in beautiful shape and historic as well. Current magazines were available and full windows for lots of light. My car was done in like 10 minutes!! With my receipt, I was given a coupon for 20% off of an oil change. Pretty awesome way to get repeat customers! But I would come back here anyway!! read more

So smog was fine, my oil change came out nothing like an oil change. I have a 2012 Mercedes, please tell me why the service light was still on after the oil change? Tell me why my check coolant notification is still on? Tell me why a month later I was driving on the freeway and my light came on and said Check Engine Oil. WTF? I have gotten many oil changes before, having my service shit come on after a month while I'm on the road? That's unheard of! When I took the car back the day after my oil change to fix the light, I asked them if they changed the oil and they said yeah. I don't believe shit they said. So you did a oil change and none of my service light came off? Lol come on man! Who are you fooling??? I'm so sick and tired of these cheap oil change place trying to get over on woman customer. You fucked up my car by not being honest. My oil change service light was on so I started looking for a shop with a coupon. My car uses 100% synthetic (more expensive) oil. Everywhere I looked it was $79. And then I called and spoke with Andrea. She was lovely, very helpful and with a coupon it was $30 less than everywhere else. Been coming here for years no issues. They have great prices on smog checks. But recently I did a home repair on my car and modified a vacuum line. During the smog visual they didn't pass my car. Fine, no problem. But instead of telling me, "hey visual no pass. Get it fixed." They run they entire sniff test and charge me $50. WTF. This gets me nothing, I still get my registration and need to do the test again. I thought that was shady. Tell them you want it in writing, "if I don't pass visual, I don't want the rest of the smog test." I later put a longer vacuum line on and tucked it down where it couldn't be seen. They were very accommodating to my schedule and stayed after closing time to get the repair done for me to have my car back Monday morning- (they are closed Sun).
