I took my Dodge diesel in just be fore noon and there was no waiting. They had me out of there within 15min. That was GREAT! There were surcharges for diesel and also for heavy duty truck (it's only a 3/4ton). Seems unnecessary as they didn't have to do anything different because it was a heavy "duty truck" or diesel. Growing old sucks! Not sure what my malfunction was, but I forgot to pay my vehicle registration. I was looking for my daughter's driver's permit and as I was rummaging through my glove compartment, I looked at my registration and noticed it had expired. Panic set in. I looked through my DMV file and found the DMV notice. I usually notate whether I paid a bill on the envelope that was sent to me. No notes. I proceeded to check my electronic bill file and found no DMV receipt. I came to the conclusion that I had forgotten and am breaking the law. To make matters worse, I had to get a smog check. It was Saturday night, so I knew I had to find a smog station that's open on Sundays. Thank God that Star Station Smog Check in Poway works on Sundays. This small smog station is right next to the Sprout's grocery market. Customer service by the young Asian man, Nick, was outstanding. He opened his shop 10 minutes before the Sunday 9:30am opening time. I was the first customer at his shop, but apparently someone had made an appointment before me. Despite this, the customer ahead of me was taken care of in 15 minutes flat. Talk about fast service. I didn't have to wait that long for my car to be tested. Promptness, outstanding customer service, and speed of service just warrants you to spend your hard earned money. The young man took care of my smog check in less than 10 minutes. WOW!!! Growing old definitely has proved costly. By paying for my DMV registration late, the late fee hurt. Jose let me know of a $12 discount I could get if I had a Yelp account and Tuan helped me check in on Yelp cuz of my not being tech savvy and having minor issues. Even though it's fast, my car was return with VSC light ON after 2nins drive, which was never on prior the smog test. Return the car and gentleman at the counter test drove it and found the VSC light ON. He assured me that the manger will contact me the following morning. No phone call from the manager, hence I called and only to be told by the manager that they have nothing to do with it.
