I have to say that I came in with the high expectations of the corn/Maiz latte and I got it iced. It was absolutely delicious! I'd say it's closed to the taste of your Corn Pops cereal milk, but so much better! It wasn't too sweet and was very smooth! I didn't have to wait long as the service was fast and timely! I don't come around this part of town too often, but I was in the area and decided to stop for some coffee. I'm all about the locally made syrups and as I asked questions about the menu, I found out that all of their syrups are made right here. I went with the Pine Nut Spice Latte and let me tell you, it was absolutely delicious. I could really taste the Pine Nut and it was only mildly sweet, which I loved. I also had a Tahini Rose Chocolate Chip Cookie, also made on-site I was told. Really yummy!! The place itself has a modern look with cozy seats to fit your taste and the staff is really friendly and welcoming. I think I have found my favorite coffee place. I cannot recommend Star Village Coffee enough. I love it so much! I am absolutely obsessed with the Blueberry and Lavender iced latte. It's so different from any other latte I have ever tried and whether it's hot or iced, it's an absolute must try! The space is large, very clean, beautifully decorated and organized. While it's not a prime location, I like this coffee shop a lot! It's fairly spacious and never very crowded, making it a great place to get some work done. They have several surge protectors placed around the tables for laptop users. The staff are very friendly. They sell their coffee by the bag, and the best part is the specialty drinks! We came here on Jan 1st. We have our usual coffee spots but they were closed for the holiday so when we looked up another coffee shop this one came up with already pretty good reviews. It is located in the Mills street area which is sometimes a hit or mix but this coffee shop is in a newly developed building and is really nice. The sign/logo is so cool as well as inside with their decor. The personnel were very nice and fast. We also bought their coffee beans that sounded really good so will have to try those as well. I got the orange blossom honey latte and my husband got the seasonal maple latte. Both of which were very good! We are back! Gah - I love this place. My husband has deemed it the best coffee in Reno! We stopped in for a quick cup. I got the Honey Orange Latte (duh!) and he decided to try the Pine Nut Latte. He was a big fan and said it was a bit buttery and had another taste of herbs - which was delicious! Enjoyed my morning coffee treat here at Star Village, for the first time! I had heard from my fellow yelpers that the chai latte was worth a try so that's what I ordered:) i did make it a dirty chai with almond milk and it was quite tasty. I was hoping for more of that chai spice that I enjoy so much but still a very good chai! I also ordered their gluten free maple almond cake, and I must say... it was delicious for a gluten free pastry! Paired really well with the chai. What I really enjoy is the ambience here, very modern, bright and plenty of seating, which i appreciated since I was also working on my laptop. They have plenty of parking on their lot reserved for their customers and also street parking is available. The staff was also very attentive and cheerful, happy to help:) that was awesome considering that it was my first time here and they were ready to answer any of my questions. This spot is so underrated. Star Village Coffee is my #1 favorite coffee shop in Reno - hands down! I always recommend this place to any of my friends and family members who need a good cup of joe or a pick-me-up matcha. Not to mention, their baked goods are also a delight. I have heard nothing but wonderful things about Star Village Coffee and it and lived up to the hype! This clean and modern little shop welcomes you in with friendly baristas and comfy chairs. They are roasting their own coffee which is always a great place to start. My husband really liked his Maize Latte, it was sweet but not in a cloying or overly sugary way. It was very balanced and yummy. I had the Tribal Tea which was a nice hot, and toasty drink. Earthy and refreshing, a good pick me up on a cool morning. Star Village is now offering Two Bags of Beans for $29 on Thursdays and I'm beyond stoked! Have I really not reviewed this Native American owned coffee shop? I've been more than a handful of times. I send people there regularly. I've consumed quite a few bags of beans in my house, but it doesn't look like I've left them any love. I'm glad to be fixing that now! Star Village has become one of my favorite local roasters, coffee shops and remote offices in town. In large part this is because they source and roast their own beans, and I find that when a shop is also the roaster they take great pride in the coffee they serve, and that is 100% true here. You can ask anything you want about the beans and the baristas are happy to answer. Most often you'll find the beans offered in a variety of brews too, and it's always fun to taste the differences. I'm a simple coffee drinker. Black. No room. Let the coffee stand on its own. Here I can enjoy a pourover or drip of the day and always leave happy. I have also tried the pine nut latte, which is very delicious and not too sweet, and I've also enjoyed the Tribal Tea sweetened with a bit of the sage and mint syrup. I like how the owners proudly incorporate their Native American heritage into nearly every aspect of the business, from the drinks on offer to the decor and branding. What a great place! Thank you to my friend and super elite Yelper, Donna B. for introducing me to this spot. Walking in, the space is open bright, casual and very clean. I was greeted right away by the delightful young lady behind the counter. She filled me in on all the signature drinks and really helped me make a good choice. I ended up getting the Pine Nut Spiced Latte. It was absolutely delicious. Warm and rich with palate pleasing spice, but not overly sweet. I love how they hand craft the ingredients with care and love and homage to their native culture. Some Yelp friends I had not seen since pre-Covid joined us and our hour of sitting and laughing and sharing stories was pure delight. No feeling of being rushed and the atmosphere is very conducive to relaxing and spending some time enjoying the moment. First, I owe Star Village Coffee an apology: their atmosphere is so warm and inviting that two Saturdays in a row, I stayed until a few minutes after closing. Even though I helped put the chairs on my table, I still felt bad. People need to go home! But this place makes you feel like you don't want to leave. Add in the high-quality drinks, the comfortable chairs, and friendly staff, and it's even harder to get to where you and the staff need to go. I've had the orange blossom latte, which was lightly sweet but not at all cloying. Although I'm not usually a fan of matcha, Star Village won me over with their matcha latte mixed with rose, an unexpected lovely complement. Because the coffee smelled so wonderful, I had to have an espresso shot, which was richly flavored and obviously carefully roasted. My first visit I wanted to try the much revered pine nut latte, but given the need to use the fat of cow milk to create the pine nut latte and the fact that I didn't have my handy dandy lactaid I ordered the hot honey orange blossom. Holy cow. So good. A week later I brought my partners cousin who is from Maryland because I knew the pine nut latte would be a new experience for her. I brought my lactaid this time. wow. Big wow. This latte is so unique in flavor and delicious. My partner got the pumpkin oat latte. I typically dislike the over sweet pumpkin spice latte world. But this actually tasted like the gourd?! Delish. So when I say this is some of the smoothest, most full bodied cups of coffee I've had in a LONG time, you should take that as a big hint to get your butt down here and try a cup. I had a standard cup of drip coffee which they said was El Salvadorian, and an Americano with two extra shots. I added cream, but no sugar. Wow! Seriously. These guys roast their own beans, and you can tell they care about what they do. So smooth dude. And the shop is bright, well decorated, with comfortable chairs. I ended up ordering their pine nut latte (iced) - note this drink can only be made with whole milk, no milk alternative as they make their own pine nut milk that is blended with whole milk in-house.
