We absolutely love StarBread. The original Señorita Bread is the perfect dessert. It's just the right amount of sweet (not too sweet), buttery, soft, warm, and delicious! I stumbled upon this little gem by accident and I am so perplexed as to how I didn't even know it existed. It is right across the street from the mall and not super easy to spot from the street if you're not looking for it. They have malasadas, cupcakes, pan desal and the famous star bread. We got the malasadas, pan desal and star bread. The malasadas were delish and fresh tasting, the texture is not as dense as the ones in Hawaii but they are really good and do hit the spot if you're jonesing for them. The pan desal were a miss, they tasted more like the dinner rolls from Costco, I was kind of disappointed, they don't look or taste like the ones at the other starbread bakeries. The starbread here is amazing!! cooked fresh to order and come out piping hot and buttery. They are small but dangerously addicting! Service was great, the girl working here was super sweet. I'm so glad they made a Starbread closer to me! My cousin used to always bring some down from NorCal so I never had them fresh but they were still always good reheated. My first time having them fresh from the store was even better than I excepted. It was warm and soft and light with a hint of sweetness. Just a perfect combination of everything. Oh how sweet it is to have found this location! It's not as good as the one in NorCal but it still does the job, craving satisfied! These have a "crunchier" top and the middle is just soft and buttery sweet. We will have to return to try the other pastries. read more

I have the greatest co-workers!! Someone brought us fresh donuts and cupcakes from Starbread Bakery this week while I was working in a clinic in Riverside. I had never heard of this bakery and was eager to try them!! My co-workers sweetly let me claim the purple donut, since that is my favorite color. I also tried a fab jam-filled one. OH MY!! so glad to finally be able to try starbread bakery! the inside is simple and clean and the staff is very nice :) got 20 of the senorita bread and half dozen of the filled malasadas. the senorita bread is soooo delicious! buttery, soft, with a hint of sweetness. it comes out warm and i could easily eat the whole dozen in one sitting! the malasadas are the perfect consistency and the fillings have a lot of flavor, i really liked the pandan flavor filling! they are coated in sugar so it was definitely a treat. i will 100% be back for the senorita bread! read more

Found this gem out towards San Pedro a year ago and that location told me riverside was in the works. I was so happy to finally stumble upon it recently while in that neighborhood. I first discovered this gem of a bakery in the OC and I am thrilled it is finally in the IE. SO SO good. Some of the best sweet (when fresh) bread I have ever had. As a Filipina, the Pan de Sal does not disappoint whatsoever and quality can be hard to find in this area especially. This location luckily also offers a variety of other goodies including filled pastries, donuts, cookies, and more. It is right across the street from the Riverside Tyler Mall in the mini shopping center near McDonalds, the Seafood Crawfish spot and a Nail shop. Popped in about 45 minutes before closing time for my first visit, but it definitely won't be my last. I looked around at the displays and an employee greeted me at the counter. I asked what he recommended since it was my first time and he said the senorita bread. I asked what that was and he gave me a free sample fresh out of the oven. It was heaven in a napkin. I ordered a box of ten and also purchased a package of mango and dulce de leche for the family. We are all now Starbread Bakery fans! So soft, delicious and not too sweet. The store is clean and quiet place. The lady was nice with good humor. I like that. I got the señorita bread ,ube coconut malasada pandan malasada, Boston cream(?) malasada and the plain. The senorita was warm and small in sizes. I think they drizzle it with butter. Next time, I will ask for the butter on the side. It's just soaked with butter. The malasadas ? They are alright. I don't think I will get them again. I tried this place and now Iam good. I don't think I will come back again but maybe in the future if ever Iam around the area and order the senoritas ( butter on the side). read more

One of my favorite things to eat are simple Filipino desserts or any Filipino desserts especially the breads. The senorita bread is money here, they are not too sweet and they give them to you warm. Service is good and it's easy to order . The worker literally went to the back and got my order of seniority bread and it was warm and I could smell it and did it smell good! The señorita bread was amaaazing!! It was still hot and fresh when I got my order and they were oozing with buttery sugary goodness, while at the same time, not too sweet (as it should). I brought a box back to family in Fresno and everyone LOVED it. Everything else I picked up was okay- I don't think I'd be back if it wasn't for their señorita bread! The biggest problem with this place is the inconsistency. When the senorita bread is made right, it's amazing. Otherwise, it's subpar. It needs to have a golden color, not brown. If it's brown, that means it's over-baked, which also means it's too crispy and dry. When it's golden, it's buttery, a bit crispy, salty, sweet, and doughy. It should melt in your mouth and your soul should escape your body. read more

Very disappointed. First time trying this location. We've always gone to the one in Anaheim but saw this one opened up and though to try it. When we got there it was busy, but we didn't mind to wait. Waited about 20-30 minutes and so we knew we were getting it fresh which was great, but as soon as we opened our box we knew we'd be disappointed. We didn't see the rolls glistening of butter/sugar which was a first red flag because everytime we've gotten rolls from Anaheim that's the first thing we see when we open the box & we didn't see it here at the Riverside location. 2nd red flag was how super dark some of the rolls are. We knew it was over cooked. So after judging the looks of it we thought maybe the taste will be different & after biting into it yeah NOPEEEEE taste exactly the way it looks. DRY. OVERCOOKED. The sugar underneath the rolls were hard as well so we knew the sugar crystallized and weren't the right textured. Really really disappointed especially when we go the 60 pieces for family and friends to enjoy, but no one liked it. Also the guy at taking our orders wasn't knowledgeable on anything and always said he had to "ask his wife" when we asked questions. He was also very unprofessional and seems like he didn't know what was going on or what he was doing. Very very disappointed and sad that these rolls aren't what they're supposed to be. Now we have to drive far to Anaheim just to get good rolls because this location was really disappointing. read more
