Awful. They lost my shirt and could care less. Just kept telling me to come back the next day. I gave up. Over priced and trash business.

Nice cleaners. I gave them only 3 stars because of their hours. Can you believe that they are closed on Saturday. 8-6 on M-F is hardly enough for people who work. You can't drop your clothes off on your way to work and you can't get back in time to pick up your stuff in the evening. I don't think they realize that New Braunfels is in a major traffic crisis. Every day Common Street Is gridlock with traffic. Only way to get anything done in New Braunfels is between 9-3 and on Saturday. read more

Believe the reviews you are reading. Recently switched to Starbrite after poor service at Comet and this place is worst. First time went ok even though prices are abnormally high for such a dump. The second time I dropped off shirts on a Thursday and they said they would be ready on Monday which was clearly written on a sign on the cash register. I had jury duty so I did not make it back until Wednesday. They give me 3 of the 14 shirts and says the others are not ready. I said how is that possible since it had been a week. I referred to the sign and they said the sign is for their reference not the customers. I ask why does it face the customer. I ask to speak to a manager and they said no that this is not their fault that they service 3 locations and cant control the timeframe. I said please explain to me how it is not ready 2 days after promised date. They continue to give me dirty looks and I politely explain that I am remaining calm but stop the attitude. I even let the customer behind me get taken care of. They finally decide to check and realize all of my shirts were ready but the manager had not logged them in the system. It is really confusing to me that they have a customer that will spend $150 to $200 a month with them and they lose my business because they dont understand customer service. I am going to drive an extra 20 minutes to never use them again. I am telling you to find another place. All of the negative reviews are accurate and their prices are the highest I have seen in 30 years of getting my dry cleaning done. read more

I understand nowadays that customer service is hard to come by but when you deal with the same employees over time and still have to deal with their attitude it might be time for a change. I always thank them and most of the time never get a thank you back. It's the "I'm doing you a favor " attitude when the customer is keeping them in business. Two stars is too good. Work is ok but outrageous prices. A pair of shorts is $5.93! I dropped off 5 pair, $32.00!! My total bill for a week or so worth of clothes was over $50.00! Disappointed. I've been a customer for a few years. Although not the least expensive it was convenient until today. Last week I dropped off some clothes and they told me I had an outstanding bill. Months back one of the clerks forget to give me all my clothes and as I had already paid they put it in next account. I knew what they were talking about as this was six months ago and was settled on my next trip in to pickup. When I went to pickup today nothing was said. I was just charged and I questioned the amount. 63.00 for 3 pants and 4 shirts. They informed me I still owed for the bill six months ago. It's not the money but the principle. They lack professionalism and customer service. They also can't keep books. I had been in several times between six months ago and the phantom charge. Prices are high enough without double charging customers. I'm going somewhere else. read more

BEWARE of this cleaners!!! I took 6 pair of jeans there to be plain ol washed & then starched. When I went to pick them up, they told me I owed them almost $60!!!! Holy cow!! I've been taking my jeans to cleaners for years & have NEVER paid that much to have my jeans washed & starched!!! I usually pay $3.75 per pair but was in the area & dropped my jeans here. They'll never get another dime of my business! Be sure to ask what the fees are before you drop your clothes off!! read more

Over 5 bucks for a shirt and over 6 bucks for pants. Need I say more? This place is extremely over priced and not consistent. The first time I bought my uniform here it was just over 2 bucks for the shirt and 5 bucks for the pants. Now all of a sudden it's 5 for the exact same shirt and 6 for the exact same pair of pants. 1 star is gracious, but I cannot give 0 stars. I have rarely ever encountered a business with customer service as poor as Star Brite on Common St. (I do not know how it is at other locations, as I definitely will not risk taking anything to any of their locations again) I work from home mostly, but travel to meet with clients 1-2 times per month. So I use a dry cleaning service fairly regularly. A while back, they returned my clothes with a pair of slacks missing. When I returned to ask them to look for it the girl working there was very rude and adamant that I never turned in slacks to be dry cleaned even though it was right there on the ticket. After a heated conversation with her, I called the main line and spoke to a manager. She was going to look into and get back to me, which never happened. I called again after a few days, and she said she hasn't had time to look into it. So I gave her a few more days and still never got back to me. I had to call numerous times to get back in touch with her. Finally they agreed to give me a credit for the amount the slacks cost new on my account. Well next time I had clothes dry cleaned, she gave me the cost and I let her know I have a credit on my account. This gal was nice about it, but there was nothing listed on my account. So then I had to go through the painstaking trouble to speak with the manager again and trying to get my credit. She wasn't even sure who I was, which tells me they are dealing with a lot of lost clothing items. I finally got my credit and once it was all used up, I admittedly have been going elsewhere. However, due to convenience and proximity to my home I dropped off clothes again this week. I was running late today, and decided to stop by to see if they are open. I went there at 6:15, and the front door says 7 pm close... but drive through only after 6. So I drive up to the door to get my clothes and the girl inside is visibly closing out her register. She would not even acknowledge me right on the other side of the sliding glass door, so I honked and tried to speak with her. She just pointed to the time and disappeared to the back. If they close at 6, that is fine but they need to change the closing time listed RIGHT THERE ON THE FRONT DOOR! And is it too much to ask for the people that work there to crack the sliding door and say something... or anything... IMO this business needs extensive training on customer service. I hate that I have to drive twice the distance to the dry cleaners I am using now, but will gladly do it to avoid Star Brite from now on. Definitely do not and will not recommend these cleaners to anyone! read more

I'm what you'd call pretty much a tshirt/jeans/shorts type of gal. For the most part I don't dress up. But this last summer after separating from my spouse of 19 years I decided it was time for a makeover. So I went shopping and then found out I needed a dry cleaner. So far my experience with Comet Cleaners has been great. They always have my clothes dry cleaned on time and are very friendly. Their prices seem reasonable too. Now I just need to get busy finding a date to wear my new clothes with. :) JK I'm not sure I'm at the right place mentally to date anyone yet. read more

I've been very pleased with Starbrite Cleaners in New Braunfels. Clothers are ready on time at a fair price. I don't understand the negative comments about the staff. Kristy and Debbie have always been very nice and friendly, plus they give my dog treats when he goes with me. I feel more like I'm dealing with friends than just with a business. read more

If it were possible to give this business(calling them a business is a stretch of the imagination in itself) a 5 star MINUS thats exactly what I would have given. We've used them for a couple of years and they have been so so. Recently in the last 8 months they have managed to RUIN 2 of my husbands Tommy Bahama shirts beyond being able to wear ever again! These are not inexpensive shirts, but even beyond the $$$$ factor is the issue that they don't take responsibility for ruining them! We took several silk shirts in to be DRY CLEANED! Never did we say we wanted them laundered and we certainly never mentioned starch! These were all Tommy Bahama silk shirts except for 1 that was linen. Upon picking them up I discovered that all of the shirts had been dry cleaned as we had requested EXCEPT for 2 the 1 linen shirt and one of the silk shirts. These 2 had been laundered and STARCHED! The problem with doing this to a a nice silk shirt is that once you use the high amount of heat that most cleaners use to press them it damages the silk! This is NOT the first time this has happened at the same StarBrite Cleaners on Common St. in NB! This is the second time that this same thing has happened to a silk shirt that is no longer able to be worn, and both were new! Their so called manager needs some schooling on her people skills to say the least, less than helpful and borderline rude the first time I spoke with her. And when my husband went back in to speak with her and show her the damaged shirt she intimated that perhaps it was a DIFFERENT cleaners that had done this and not them at all! To sum it all up she offered only to try to clean the shirt again to see if this might bring it back to life. Hoping that this might work but knowing it couldn't we agreed....no change the shirt is DONE! Clearly it is beyond the capabilities of the employees that have been hired to work in this location! Get a CLUE when you take in clothes and ask for DRY CLEANING, this means DRY CLEANING NOT LAUNDERED AND STARCHED!!!!!! Actually whom ever the owner is should step up and do something with his help since obviously they are not qualified to be in this business behind the counter or in front with customers! At the very least you'd expect to take some responsibly for HORRIBLE work and customer relation skills!! If you have even a t-shirt I would absolutely NOT take it here!! Never have I had a worse experience with a business that offers service to the public! read more

I have used them for years and only had one complaint until recently when an employee actually told me that he has worn other peoples' clothes before (expensive men's clothes) and popped buttons off of clothes when he was pissed at a customer!!! read more

What an unprofessional business. I had one shirt come back with a crease down the front. When I asked for credit for a shirt I had to iron over I was told by manager( she lied and said she wasn't manager) that I would have to come back. Absolute worst cleaners! Don't let the name fool you..it's listed as Comet cleaners, but the sign on the business is Star Brite. Either way, the owner is rude and he makes it a practice of blaming his clients for damages caused by his cleaning service. Used them for some time, but my husband had to return shirts for re-cleaning almost every other visit. When we complained to the BBB, the owner counteracted by blaming my husband for the stains, and stated that my husband's very new, expensive shirts were old and worn. STAY AWAY from this business if you are looking for professional cleaners, great customer service and an owner who respects his customers. read more

HORRIBLE, UNETHICAL Service. They say they use a green product for cleaning with no fragrance and our clothes came back smelling like cheap perfume. In 30 years of dry cleaning I have never had dry cleaning come back smelling like a strip club, no joke. They weren't even ironed or pressed, completely wrinkled. I felt like someone just took the clothes and rolled them in a dryer with Dryell at their house. They even lied again saying they don't use fragrance when we called for a refund. Then, when we tried to get our refund (which doesn't even balance out the cost to get them dry cleaned again somewhere else)they said their systems were down and could not process it and we had to come back for a third time between the hours of 8 AM and 11 AM because that's the only time they have the ability to do refunds which is absolutely ridiculous. I don't like to give negative reviews, but but I wish I could give negative stars as well. It's businesses like this that just make me disappointed in their lack of integrity. Thanks to Tip Top Cleaner's (down the road) urgency and good business practice, they were able to get the smell out and pressed all the clothes great. read more

Used this place & very disappointed. Owner is a real a-hole. I brought in a perfectly great shirt that just needed cleaned & pressed. When I came to pick it up, it had stains all over it where something had been spilled & then pressed over. I returned the shirt & was told they would look into it & get back to me via a phone call. Never received a call, but called them finally & was told stains were gone & shirt was ready. The person was sorry the manager or owner never called but would have them call me anyway. That still did not happen. I finally came in to get my shirt & when I did, it was still messed up. Like nothing had been done. By now I'm quite upset that the manager, owner can't call a customer as promised & that I was told the shirt was cleaned properly & stains were gone, which was not the case. I said the owner or manager needed to grow a pair and fix the situation or I'll be calling the BBB. Next day a-hole owner calls trying to say the shirt stains were from sweat? First off the shirt was fine with no stains when brought in & secondly I do not sweat in shirts. He starts talking down to me like a piece if dirt & not wanting to accept any responsibility. He tried to say I was making a threat to him by saying he sure needed an ass whipping by talking to me the way he did. Long story short, I should have listened to the other reviews I read & word of mouth that say he treats any issue as the customers fault & takes no responsibility for his piss poor company & pathetic work. Stay away from this location as well as the other one in New Braunfels & the one in Seguin, which he owns. Too bad you can't put a negative star. read more

Whatever you do...DO NOT send your clothing to this dry cleaners. They completely ruined a dress and then did not warn me and I paid for the cleaning. When I took it out, it was awful. Sequins melted to the dress and dye had streaked across it. Mistakes in life happen, I realize that and I was not angry because of the mistake. I was furious because Kevin, the manager, refused to take accountability for the mistake and then said he did not even know who cleaned it. So no investigation on who did the ruining took place. Eventually, I talked to the owner, Scott McCash, who handled it with animosity, disrespect and was flippant about what had happened. Any GOOD business takes ownership of mistakes that happen and does what is necessary to fix the relationship with the customer. Scott McCash has absolutely no accountability and does not take ownership of his employees wrong decisions. He had the audacity to get angry with me! I spend close to $50 in there a month and they have lost a customer FOR LIFE and all the respect as a business, and all over a $75 dress. read more
