My husband and I were having issues with our wifi so we decided to have a coffee/homework date. The staff was super friendly and accommodating, and they also had plenty of socially distanced work spaces that were clean and provided outlets for our devices. Service was quick - the employee who helped me was new and a little lost in the sauce - but overall not a bad experience. We enjoyed drinks and getting work done in a warm, welcoming environment especially since we had several deadlines to meet. They also had some beautiful mugs and I can't say no to a pretty Starbucks mug to add to the collection! read more

Definitely one of the worst Starbucks I've ever been to. They are consistently slow to prepare orders and tend to focus way more on drive-thru orders, and always seem to have new staff that manage to mess up orders half the time. Took me 25 minutes to get a simple latte today. I walked in another morning and the girl who was fixing my already incorrectly made drink (asked for hot green tea and got the wrong tea) turned around and just laughed at me so out of curiosity I asked her what was so funny and she responded "it's just your face." Best part was I was in uniform so that was extra cool. Stopped here traveling home from the beach. I'm giving three stars only because I think no Starbucks deserves a four or five star rating as I don't believe they are worth the hype. My latte was prepared quickly and tasted like they always do. I prefer Dunkin but they were cash only today unfortunately. I read a recent review of this location where someone said the staff wasn't wearing masks. However, today every employee working was wearing one which is a requirement in the state of North Carolina during the COVID pandemic. Giving them 3* because of the friendly staff; but, it can be a frustrating place to get a cup of Joe. Off the main drive in the Southern Pines / Aberdeen area. LOTS of big box stores and chain restaurants in the area. Wait times were consistenly slow and the drive-through can be maddening as almost every time I went there was a "please pull around the front" delay. After a while I just started going inside for service. It's clean and as with almost every Starbucks the busy times can fluctuate. Doesn't seem to be a culture of hipsters or internet WiFi junkies taking up the tables and cushy, oversized chairs. Wouldn't call it the most relaxing "hang-out" place. You guys need to learn who your generations are there was an older woman in front of me in line and she had a hearing aid and Ethan was the one helping her and he didn't speak up he didn't help her he repeated himself five times and she still didn't hear him due to her hearing aids. part of being a well known company is that you are able to adapt to all of your customers. Sooner or later we're all going to be old . we're all going to need people to be tolerant and patient and learn how to communicate effectively with us. Ethan did not do a good job there was a girl and a manager with a beard on snickering behind the counter and I didn't appreciate it. If Starbucks has employees that are not tolerate not open to what's in front of them and not representing the generation Z who wants to be collaborative and team worthy and work with people I know that thing you were letting down Starbucks you're letting down Aberdeen and you're letting down all of us in the community. I have been here 6 times. The staff has always been friendly in the drive thru. Now that being said, the drive thru is cumbersome. The lane has a curve in it going to the window and I always see cars scuffing the tires because of that. You can get a little me of cars out in the street making is difficult for traffic to get by. The past three times I've been at this location I have waited over 30 minutes to get one drink. Today I waited 45 minutes. No apology, no offer of a refund. The store maybe had 10 customers total at the time I was there. NO reason for this HORRIBLE service. This Starbucks location is notorious for taking forever. I've been living in the area for 10 years and always wait over 15 minutes even when I mobile order. You would think they'd be giving me a drink made with Gold for the amount of time I'd have to wait. Also they never give you milk alternatives even when you ask. They use normal milk. I've called them out on numerous occasions when I watch them make my drink with regular milk, even upon explain I have a dairy allergy, to which they refuse to admit they used real milk. This location has consistently been the best Starbucks I have ever visited. I'll admit I am pretty picky about my coffee and my regular order is a bit complicated. Therefore I am usually prepared for a barista to forget one of the modifications or use less than ideal ratios resulting in an underwhelming product. THEY ARE SPOT ON EVERY TIME!!!! I'm an ex partner, I know it gets crazy during peak times, but my experience was really bad at this Starbucks. I went multiple times to make sure it wasn't a one-time thing, and unfortunately it wasn't. It was so, so slow. I waited over 15 minutes just to get through the line to the order box. As stated above, this isn't always the fault of the establishment, the area itself is gonna create traffic and drive thru issues. This is also partially due to the ability of the people working inside, working as a unit and communicating to one another. I repeated my order twice, and it was still wrong. I'm lactose intolerant, I said this during my order, and the sticker on my drink did not say soy on it, though I repeated my order twice AND she repeated my order back to me saying the word "soy". When I finally got up to the window, the person assigned to window did not greet me or even look my way--she was giggling into her headset with her back to me. I know the headsets are important communication tools, but there's a time and place for everything. If you've got time to comment on the driver of the last car or the weirdo in the lobby, you've got time to greet your customer, even if it's just to say "hey it's gonna be just a second on that drink, how's your day going?". It's those little things that separates Starbucks and keeps people coming back and, most importantly, willing to pay $6 for a coffee. The girl finally turned around, and STILL did not greet me. Just a "it's $6.24" and held her hand out expectantly. I had a 5 dollar bill in my hand, ready for the tip jar. I know how it is, and I remember that tip money paying my rent. However I put the money back into my wallet this time. So when she handed me the drink, I quickly realized it wasn't dairy free and let her know. It was not well received. At first she didn't say anything at all, she just looked at me blankly. I reminded her that Im the one with the lactose issues, hoping maybe she was just trying to place me. She replied "right. We can make it again but it's gonna take a few minutes and you're gonna have to come inside". That's all that was said to me. At this point I said "no thanks" and drove away. I'd rather shit myself than go through that again. I don't know if it's the management or trouble finding good partners, but something needs to change. This is the fourth time a very similar interaction has taken place at this Starbucks, twice by this same girl. I get it, we all have bad days. But you're getting paid by a company who values friendliness and catering to your customer. Sometimes you gotta suck it up and do your job. I'm being generous with two stars, because I've had good interactions with evening shift partners, who, while still fairly slow, make good conversation and are super friendly. I'm not coming back to this Starbucks if I can help it, certainly not during peak times. Please, please re-evaluate your partner placement! read more

After living in Pinehurst for so long.. FINALLY, a Starbucks opens here after I leave for college. I was hoping that this location would be really be on top of it's game since it is fairly new.. but the employees do a half-ass job at making drinks. Whoever is training the baristas needs to do a better job. I'm unimpressed. This one employee jumped over the counter... after his break.. and made my drink.. in a different way than it was supposed to.. that totally gave me a bad impression about this place. Not sure why it takes 30 mins to get a coffee through the drive through - so I have also tried to park and walk in thinking it would be faster. That is not the case. I've only been to this location a couple of times bc I only stop in when I visit family. Each time the lines are outrageous, whether inside or the drive-thru. The staff is friendly and the coffee is good, it's just the wait is crazy. I understand Starbucks is a popular spot but having to wait more than 10 minutes for coffee is a bit much. I do love this particular Starbucks. Always a little daring to get into it. And possibly the worlds tightest raking lot. But it's always nice. Good staff. They do a pretty solid job under pressure too. Especially considering the standard at which Aberdeen/Southern Pines, NC can have for this kind if business. This has to be among the worse Starbucks I have ever been to. I have visited and lived all over the country and the Starbucks of Aberdeen is awful. The employees are extremely slow, they continue to run out of top desired items and even necessary items such as mocha! The drive through is terrible and consistently gets my order wrong. In addition they are closed for unknown reasons when I drive ten miles down the road and find the other Starbucks operating as normal. The need for some real training is critical! I literally have gone everyday for the last year and they still have no idea who I am or what my drink is. Can't wait to get back to real town that has a real Starbucks and not a wanna be one!
