I stopped here for a quick in-store cup of black coffee and an impossible sausage sandwich. If you follow my reviews, you know already that it is often "impossible" for any Starbucks employee to heat the impossible sausage sandwich correctly. They "always" overheat it and melt the cheese all over the place. BUT NO! Finally, a Starbucks that gets it right. And since it was "for here" it was served on a proper plate, and with a smile! Not sure what the problem was while we were here. But got half of our order and then waited over ten more minutes for the second half. Be careful parking in the ten minute parking, it's probably going to take longer than that to get your drink... There's not much seating room, so be ready to stand for an extended period of time in a crowd. Maybe this was just a bad day or time for them, but probably one of the worst experiences I've had at any Starbucks location. I considered just asking for a refund on the second drink since we were here for at least 15 minutes but they finally got it ready. It was incorrect and didn't taste good, but I didn't have another 15 minutes to wait for it to be remade. Very disappointing experience. read more

I ordered a grande decaf latte with almond milk and sugar free vanilla. It tasted like a hot cup of flavored coffee water. I was beyond disappointed. We've stopped by this location a few times during our visits over the last year. It's conveniently located near lots of other places we usually visit and is even the perfect stop on our way out of town. Each time there's been a short line, but it moves quickly. The staff is very accommodating of special orders. The only "bad experience" we've had there was the Egg Nog latte. Lol. We do not recommend. read more

I wish I could give this place negative stars - the are AWFUL. Something is always malfunctioning here: the equipment, the people, or both. Be prepared to be wait 15-20 min. for a beverage. Also, the parking is a nightmare. I strongly suggest going to any Ingles if you need Starbucks. read more

Handed her drink with one of those new sippy lids, lid was not fully secured and spilled over her two layer top and upper pants. Had to go clothes shopping for new dress top. As a former Starbucks Partner, I am very critical of my Starbucks. I want that "legendary" service, good coffee, outdoor seating, ONLY coffee smells (no burned cheese smell), good music and a great location. This place provides this all. The only downtown Starbucks location has the unique added value of also being a neighborhood location. It lies conveniently off of the highway and right within walking distance of downtown and the surrounding, slightly urban neighborhoods. The outdoor seating is, for the most part, shaded and plenty. The only draw back is the close proximity to the roadway and parking lot...there is a chance that the exhaust from cars may push you inside. The inside features a uniquely designed Coffee Bar. You sit at stools that look at the espresso machine and brewing station. A great feature for customer interaction with the Partners. The service and staff is as good as it gets as far as Starbucks in the Asheville area. The other locations are fine...but Charlotte Street shines as an example of how a store should be. I go out of my way to get to this place. It's worth it. read more

So when I'm looking for that big corporate fix when it comes the coffee this is my Starbucks of choice. Located just on the edge of the center of town on Charlotte Street I don't think of ever seen his place when it wasn't busy. Staff is friendly and if I'm not mistaken the entire interior has been redesigned giving it both a fresh and contemporary look and feel They would get five stars but in my most recent visit I purchase a to go metal coffee mug a mocha and a note bar and was never given the oat bar are usually don't ask for receipts so it took a bit of convincing that I did buy it without the receipt. I love this Starbucks location. Almost everyone that comes to visit Asheville asks to see The Grove Park Inn and this location is on the way. Not only can you see the mountains from any seat in here but the Barista's have never messed up my order. There is an awesome patio with plenty of chairs and tables with umbrellas to hide in the shade. The inside has comfy leather high back chairs that are perfect for hiding in with a book and a cup of coffee. What can you really say about a Starbucks? However, if you're looking for consistency, and quick service, this company may be the place for you! You won't find coffee connoisseurs -- though, let's be honest -- there will hordes of people who believe themselves to be. I'm writing a review for this specific location because it's wonderful! I always get a smile in the morning when I go in. They remember your drink and usually are very fast. The cops must get a discount because at 6:30am about 4-6 cops are sitting around. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is because they are a bit pricey like all the other Starbucks. read more

I am all about supporting local businesses (and I frequently do!) but I have yet to find a cafe that makes a Dirty Chai Latte that tastes as good as the ones from Starbucks. As a vegan, I absolutely love the fact that Starbucks offers soy, coconut and almond milk options. I usually hit up the Starbucks on Charlotte Street about once a week for my latte fix and the employees there are always courteous and extremely efficient. This is my first bad experience with this Starbucks. I just left the store really disappointed in there cleanliness and rotation of ready made lunches. I usually like to grab one of Starbucks egg & cheese protein boxes when I am in a hurry. They didn't have what I usually get, so I tried the 1/2 peanut butter sandwich, apples, carrots, cucumbers, chocolate raisins and yogurt dip. Once I opened it I could tell that it wasn't fresh at all. The cucumbers and carrots were rubbery, cucumbers and had that brown look to them and the apples were browning as well. Surely to goodness the sandwich would be okay, right? Nope! The bread was stale. I get that it's a pre-packaged box but I have been getting these forever and never had one that wasn't fresh. They're supposed to make these daily. It was my understanding that they throw out the unused ones at the end of day. Clearly that's not the case and I looked over the other boxed lunches, hoping that mine was somehow not rotated out. Nope! They all looked like this. This is not my favorite site as parking is always a bear, however this is Asheville so what are you going to do. Store is never immaculate. Trash always needs to be taken out, crumbs and wrappers on the floor, cream is often empty with spill marks and wrappers littering the milk and sugar station. Staff is adequate but not overly knowledgeable; my drink is always correct and given with a smile. This could easily be a 5 star store with better management, but when you have a good location why try? read more
