The coffee is constantly good, which is partially because the espresso is never left unattended. This is not a small deal. It points to a high level of training and accountability. This is by far my most favorite Starbucks in the vicinity. It's located on a somewhat busy road and across from the Auburn mall which is convenient. With that said, this location can get very busy at certain times of the day. The baristas are the nicest people you'll ever meet. They're personable, friendly and enthusiastic about their job. They're always more than happy to have a conversation with you while they're making your drink. Sometimes they'll remember your name and your order if you're a regular! The interior is nice and clean, but since they've renovated (YEARS ago), the small lounge area has turned into an extension of the coffee bar. There are a fairly decent amount if seats around the cafe. The only complaint I have would be the wait times for a single drink. At a busy time it's expected that there should be a long wait time for your beverage, but even during the slow hours it still takes quite a while. read more

I am in Auburn about once a week and this is a usual stop for me, the seating is not terrible but it does lack the comfortable leather couches and chairs that many of the stores have. The comments about lines are true, every time I am here I am amazed at the wait - this especially seems odd since they don't have a drive thru? I am a huge Starbucks fan and have been to many throughout the state b/c of work-related travel. The Auburn location has very friendly baristas, but this location has (by far) the longest wait of any Starbucks I have been too. Of course there are busy times of day at any location and lines can be long, but this one will literally have a line to the door that will take ages to get through. I find that other Starbucks move their long lines faster. I'm not sure why this one moves so slowly...maybe not enough staff behind the counter? So if you get to this Starbucks and it's not busy, or if you aren't in a hurry and can wait in a slow moving line, you'll get great service and great coffee/treats. read more

This location is one of my favorites ! Yea, I was a little sad when they remodeled and took away the cozy couch and chairs (left two). The bar set up is pretty cool though. The Clover Machine is awesome and I do like the windows all around, But the real selling point to me are the Baristas ! They have some of the best of the best here. Even with the turn arounds of Baristas they just seem to continue to get some really nice and down right fun Baristas. Really making you feel welcome. I can't think of ever feeling sad to see some of them leave to another location before. Always a pleasure coming here whenever my evenings allow :-) read more

They made my drink wrong, then remade the drink and gave it to another person. The workers are friendly and the establishment is clean, but I would say it is consistently over staffed. This is the closest Starbucks to my house, I'm a regular customer here. I never order anything complicated, passion tea with lemonade and sweetener is what I get. For some reason they always always forget to put in my classic sweetener. It already takes them 10 minutes just to make my drink, (yes I'm aware there are other customers, I'm a barista myself, however we are not this slow). This is probably the slowest Starbucks ever, every time I come here they take so long, even if there's only 3 people in line. I would give this place a four stars but today one of the employees really annoyed me. I have always been a loyal Auburn Starbucks customer until this evening. I had the worst experience. I have an allergy and always ask for a new blender. I know it is a pain but everyone has always been so great with getting a new blender, until tonight. I was told it didn't have strawberries made in it prior to my order it had chocolate. I said " just forget it and I will just take the other drink I ordered". With a hiss Taylor said" well I can just get a new blender". At that point I was like no I'm good but very disappointed. I absolutely love this Starbucks! The people that work there are so friendly and remember your favorite drink. They ask about your life and seem really interested. There are 4 nice comfy couch like chairs and about 6 other wooden chairs and tables that are good for computer work with their wifi connection. They always play great music and will make your drink just the way you like it! This is my favorite place to sit, journal, sip my coffee and meet interesting people. read more

I'm a regular customer at Starbucks in auburn but today's stop will be the last one. I ordered a dragon fruit mango refresher and the color of the refresher was light pink not even close to a bright pink or the color that the dragon fruit is suppose to look like. The barista was so rude when I asked her why is the color so light? And she was telling me with a rude tone of voice hat that's how is suppose to look like and that she is giving me an extra scoop of it on my cup she dropped the cup in front of me with a really angry face. I never had a problem with anyone else here I love all the girls. This one today I have never seen her before. She had glasses on and short curly hair with a striped shirt. I go in here at least once every few days. The baristas are very friendly and the atmosphere is great. They constantly clean the floors so there is a minimal amount of trash around; same with the tables and self service bar. I always order the pike or dark roast hot coffee and it's very consistent. Only wish that it was bigger to have more work space in there! read more

I go to this Starbucks literally every day on my way to work. This was a borderline 3-3.5 stars but I gave it a bump because of the consistency. 5 points = 4 stars 1. Service and staff: Yes it's a small Starbucks but there is always an adequate staff sometimes there are 5 people on duty at one time. It's a high volume store and given the volume I feel they do a pretty good job. I am always given a smile and a hello, from time to time someone is having a bad day but no one has ever been rude to me here which is a feat onto itself in today's world. Of particular note is the manager Jody who I have witnessed stocking shelves, wiping up spills, pouring coffee you name it. Point is the staff is dialed in to getting you the coffee you ordered and doing it right. 2. Products: Everything you would expect at a Starbucks of this size. Coffee beans, gift cards, on the go packaged meals (sandwiches, crackers and cheese) and items they heat up. I don't make it a habit of eating here but what I have had wasn't stale it was dated appropriately and sold prior to expiration and overall there is enough variety where I could grab a bite in a pinch. If you are reading this review you likely know coffee. Starbucks is what it is on the beverages, this Starbucks gets all the standard drinks correct. 3. Location: this is across from a mall in auburn and down the street from both 290 and the mass pike. Not only that but there is a staples, a library, a park, fitness and multiple retail shops in proximity. So for that it gets a star as you can get your coffee and within walking distance you can get just about any errand you need done. 4. Patrons and vibe: yes this matter particularly if you are sitting there. I've seen it all in this place, moms with kids, construction workers, police, and white collar. This isn't the stereotypical high end coffee shop Starbucks is known for in some places. You get everyone here and it's a decent vibe certainly this many people aren't coming there because the coffee is bad... Once again a consistent coffee with good staff makes for happy patrons. In two instances I have seen where someone was unhappy with a purchase, the staff didn't ask they just replaced it. 5. Interior: this is where they lose a star and it could have been 1.5 total. For small seating area and the line and entry are cramped. Additionally during the holidays the displays go up consuming more space and reducing the cream and sugar station to a very small space, which abuts the line waiting to order. Ya it can be a pain. Wifi, I couldn't get a connection my son did and it was weak but functional. The bathrooms were clean but it was non-factor, meaning they weren't clean to the point of spectacular OMG I have to mention it. There are no couches and maybe six tables in the back where you can sit. The real problem is limited space at the register as it's literally right next to the cream/sugar and more seating. People flow in and out and when it's busy it's a congested mess that you want to depart not sit and enjoy. There isn't much they can do about it, it's a small venue. So if you want a good cup of coffee it's a great place to stop every morning (no drive through) if you want to sit get on your lap top and have a quiet cup of coffee in the back? This isn't the place for you. EDIT 09/16/16: Again I go to this starbucks almost daily, over the last several months its declined in service speed. To the point it affects the experience. They now have a feature where you can order ahead and pick up, which is fine but whats happening is the lines are now very long. I dont know if its more business, lack of staff or both but my wait times for coffee have increased a lot. 2nd Edit - 01/18/2017: I no longer go to this starbucks every day. 2-3 times a week based on travel It is extremely hit or miss now. Meaning, you can go at 6 AM any weekday and have a great experience in terms of service and obtaining your beverage. Weekends? Forget it. 10+ in line and the cream/sugar/trash area look like a bomb went off. The "pick up station" for mobile orders is right there at the front entrance creating a bottle neck. Staff are still great, this review and its edits maintain that the staff here is top notch they aren't the problem. The issue is volume, it appears they simply get crushed on the weekend mornings and I can't be certain more staff would help as its way to small as it is. Either way the reality is I avoid going there at certain times, that's bad for any business. read more
