I stopped by this Starbucks yesterday afternoon for a little caffeine pick-me-up and received the best customer service from David. I'm not a sophisticated coffee drinker, so the options at Starbucks make my head want to explode. I knew I wanted a Pike Place, but realized I wanted a ton of cream and for it to be fairly sweet. I explained all this haltingly to David and he suggested I get...I think he called it a half and half. Half Pike Place, half steamed milk, plus he'd make it sweet. I went for it and was happy to pay less than $4 for what seemed like a more fancy beverage than I usually go for. In less than 5 mins, David hand delivered my coffee and once it cooled down, it was EXACTLY what I wanted. THIS is what I'll be ordering at Starbucks from now on (the rare occasions I go). This location was well lit, clean, and comfortable looking but I didn't stay to drink my coffee. I would on future returns though. Thanks to David, this may be my favorite Starbucks. read more

Two times in a row now I order a cup of OAT MILK and they give me a very small amount of oat milk mixed with coffee. This time I asked them to correct it and they refused saying it is "cold milk" but oat milk is WHITE and this clearly is coffee. the middle age tall woman with glasses who was serving me got mad at me and refused to give me oat milk as I literally watched them pouring WHITE oat milk into someone else's drink. This happened at about 9:30AM July 16th. I'm pregnant and I'm really bothered that they keep doing this. I will not be returning here and I would recommend going elsewhere, they are mean and can't follow basic instructions. read more

Stating the order we made was incorrect. However, I of course had the order info to prove what we ordered. I get that Starbucks can get crazy busy, especially in the mornings, but it's disrespectful to yell at the customers who do not have anything to do with the issue at hand. Multiple teenagers were yelled at by the workers because the workers were stressed out. I am in food service, so I understand the stress completely, but it isn't right to scream at customers who are unsuspecting and do not have anything to do with the stealing of drinks. Multiple employees were quite literally yelling at the customers, scolding them for things that they did not even do. When you are stressed out, please do not take it out on the people who are paying the company who pays your salary. You're allowed to be upset, but screaming at 17 year old girls (multiple times) isn't acceptable. read more

Oh dear! The place we all hate to love. Let's just first say that the coffee is tasty. Especially the holiday drinks (if made correctly). I do admit, I keep reminding myself every online order I make to this particular Starbucks, that I'm asking for it. I have given them ample time over the last year to prove me wrong. Yet each time they successfully prove me right. The stack of extensive mistakes has a wide range. From not making my drink at all (somehow skipping my order) to wrong size, wrong drink, making it iced when ordered hot, and over all lack of even filling the cup are just the tip of the issues here. I give them 3 stars because if you do happen to go at the right time on the right day there are a few baristas that come through with the perfect drink. But, unfortunately I don't know their schedules and it's like a roulette game of chance each time. If your gonna bet one way or the other.. safe bet is to not be surprised if something goes south with your order. read more

Today I walked 10 blocks to this Starbucks because the one nearby at Safeway was closed at 1 pm, and just like every visit I've paid to this location, my experience was awesome. Friendly, smiling faces, a well made drink and a clean environment are all a refreshing change from my experience with the Starbucks at Safeway. Nick and his staff understand the importance of customer service and strive to provide a positive experience for each and every guest every single day. FIVE STARS to the worker with some mid-length dreads working Sunday 04/10/22 making drinks in the day shift. He happily sang to every song on the playlist and had a chipper attitude to each customer, saying "Have a great day!" I was working on my laptop when he killed a riff from Queen's Don't Stop Me Now, and my head actually snapped up in awe. Wanted to give a compliment but he headed out real fast after 5pm. This is not a bad review on all the employees in this store, just two, the manager(xavier) and one other employee ( short and heavy set, short hair black employee) im going to make this short. The sticker of my correct order was on the cup but the wrong coffee was in the cup. I came all the way back from work to the store to get the correct coffee and I received no apology and was told by the employee that the its my fault because i picked up the wrong cup. You handed the cup to me and the sticker on the cup said the correct coffee. Than the ignorant manager got involved once again no apology no compensation and he yelled at me as I left the store. It's 10:00 AM and I'm in the area randomly. "You know," I say to myself... "a coffee sounds amazing." I walk into Starbucks thinking it's consistent. It's reliable. It'll do the trick. I approach the lady at the front register who is entranced by her cellphone conversation and is immediately annoyed there's a customer. Her nighttime bonnet and crusty eyelids lead me to believe she awoke only minutes prior to my arrival. She doesn't speak. I stare at her. She stares at me. It's awkward. I say, "hi, how are you?" She says, "what would you like?" No acknowledgment I'm a person. I order. She pugnaciously punches in my order and I think maybe she's having a bad day because she just stares at me. That's ok! She tells me my total and I pay with my app. She mumbles, "it'll be out" mixed with a heavy sigh. Customer Service. I amble over to the end of the bar where I notice a man at the table rolling his own cigarettes. I watch him as he carefully lines up what I'm assuming is tobacco in some zigzag rolling papers. This is an odd thing to be doing at a Starbucks, but the employees ignore it, so I follow their lead. I notice the floors haven't been mopped. Probably ever. They are sticky and my shoes make sound as I anxiously sway back and forth waiting. The man making my coffee clearly doesn't want to be at work today, and I don't want to be in this Starbucks any longer than I need to. So as soon as my coffee is on the bar I grab it to leave. Just had my 100th Yelp check-in at this location, I felt it's now a good time to finally write a review of this place. This is my main go-to Starbucks because it's on my way to work. The place is pretty busy all the time, especially during rush hours, because it's located a block away from the Johns Hopkins University and the Union Memorial Hospital. Plenty of people need the caffeine. Over the years, I have gotten to know the long-time baristas well. Annie is absolutely awesome. Overall, almost all of the time my customized drinks have been made to my direction. 1 star off because due to its customer volume, the wait to pay, the wait to get a drink, and the cleanness are not good sometimes. read more

This Starbucks is in a great location, close to the hospital, hopkins, and surrounding apartment buildings, but my lord the new renovation is horrendous. The new store layout is brighter but lacks adequate private seating where you are not pushed up against other people. I've had issues in the past with their service not being too great and sometimes abrasive (particularly from the 2 white men who work there) but otherwise, the rest of the staff is pleasant. Starbucks food and their drinks taste the same as other locations but the new store layout has me avoiding the location now. I'll go to the one in hampden to get work done. Hopefully they change their seating arrangement in the store so I can come back. read more

This is the Starbucks I normally go to every day. I like it because it's quick and efficient and it's just a nice calming atmosphere. I studied for most of my exams here and I am rarely bothered by a chaotic atmosphere. The one downside to this location is that is particularly chilly. This is not bad during the summertime but it can get overwhelming after being there for about 30 minutes. I was not happy with this location at all.... Having been to a hundred different Starbucks I never really have any issue with any Starbucks with my experience. However this one was just rubbing me the wrong way. When you walk in its very cult like and cold.... No one says hello, no one really acknowledges that you have even walked through the door! So as I walked up to the counter with my boyfriend a lady with bright, off putting purple like hair greeted me. With a "what can I get you" attitude. So I asked if they had the gingerbread flavoring in yet for the holidays. She simply replied with "nope" and said what can I get you anyways.... So realizing her attitude I proceeded to ask questions as to when the flavor would be released for the holidays. She gave me a snide remark along the lines of "I don't know, when the holidays come around." I was done with her attitude. So I politely spit out my order a pumpkin spice latte with soy milk. She asked if I wanted whipped cream I said no I have a lactose irritant and I went on to pay for my drink. When I received my coffee I didn't check it I just left the snuffy atmosphere and wanted to vacate as quickly as possible. As I started to drive I realized they put whipped cream on my coffee. I didn't have my lactose pills on me so that was a six dollar latte that had to go into the trash! Two thumbs down to this location, never again! read more

I went to get my coffee this morning and overheard a staff member training a new hire- she said "connection with the customer is the most important thing". This line rings true every time I go to this location more so than any other Starbucks I've ever been to. The staff are always so accommodating and welcoming. The cashier even went out of her way to help me get all of my gift cards compiled and totaled up today to make my life easier next time. Whenever I go to this Starbucks before work, I always leave in a great mood and ready to tackle my day (not just because of the caffeine!). I've read other reviews that say it's hard to find parking here. There's free 2 hour parking all over Charles Village, so parking is never an issue if you're willing to park a block or two away. The only reason I'm giving this four stars instead of five is that the individual seating in this location is very limited- it's mainly one large shared table. The set up is not conducive to sitting for a while and getting real work done. read more

The baristas here are soo nice and energetic. Lovely Starbucks close to Hopkins and a great place to study if you find a space in the table . If you stop by during busy hours it's hard to find a place to even sit. Wish they had more tables . But aside from that is within walking distance to the Barnes and nobles and John Hopkins and the hospital. read more

This Starbucks almost never gets orders right. The servers are full of attitude about routine refills. They have no incentive to ever get better because of the captive audience. Starbucks corporation should be ashamed of this location. Even most of the reviews with four stars say how mediocre this location is. People are always making excuses for what they get here. Why? I love Starbucks. Just not this one. Today was the last straw. My wife went in yesterday on her way to work and ordered a hot chocolate, like she frequently does. She didn't check the beverage before leaving. You know the rest of the story...the drink handed to her wasn't hers, just a cup of steamed milk. She found this out in the car, was in too much of a rush to make an issue of it, and knowing that we're there frequently she resolved to have her card refunded. Accordingly we showed up the next day (this morning) and, absent proof of purchase, were refused a refund and not offered anything (a coupon toward another hot chocolate would have been nice.) "It's policy," said the manager. I looked at her incredulously. "It's policy? We're here all the time and you think I'd waste our time to come in here and try to scam you out of a $4 refund?"
