I was staying in Bastrop for business and ended up here a few times during my stay. This is the only location in the area. This location is hard to find because it is part of a bank, but it has its own door and drive through. The 1st visit I went through the drive through. I ordered a latte and espresso beans. I was told they did not sell espresso beans and the cashier seemed to not know what I was asking for. I was confused by this as they typically have these at all locations. I gave up on trying to explain when the cashier insisted they did not sell them. Later that day I was back and the line in the drive through was super long so I went inside. Low and behold there was an entire container of espresso beans. I pointed out to the other cashier that when I came by that morning I was told they did not carry them. She stated they always have them. The staff were not rude, but they seem to be just going through the motions of their job. Other locations seem to be more focused on customer service. read more

Service is crazy slow. Drive thru is arrived the block. Did a mobile order only to be told I have to wait 15 minutes. Now I'm late for work because there is only 1 person making drinks for the instore and mobile orders. They need to reallocate their people so they are mildly efficient. With an average of only 2,5 stars I expected the worst... We stopped here in the afternoon on our way back home from a weekend in Austin. My beloved Yelp-App showed us the way to the Starbucks/Bank building. Surprising combination, but why not?! We didn't use drive through and our order was pretty simple so there wasn't much room for errors. The wait was average and the bathrooms were like other locations that time of the day. I've been to this location twice in the last few months and both times I was told that it would be about 20 minutes to make any drink.

I almost always go through the drive-thru, but the baristas are always super helpful and make my drink well every time. Compared to the other Starbucks I live close to in Austin, this one is much speedier at making drinks. read more

Service has been so horrible the last few times we've been here. Very short with responses and complete disregard for other's time. This last visit was the last straw. My wife and I came in really early. Excited to get her and my daughter a specific Starbucks cup they've been talking about for some time now. We arrived around 5:15 in the morning and noticed the pallets on the floor. We asked about the specific cups my daughter and wife were wanting and immediately were told they could not help us at the time. They will get to the cups when they get to them. So my wife and I order some coffee and patiently wait for them unload the pallets without disturbing their workflow. 6:00 am they finish sorting through the pallets and kindly ask to see if they have the cups in stock. They refused to look in the boxes. They told us again, that they will get to them when they can. At this point I'm fumed, but my wife being the kind hearted person she is, she told me to let them get to it when they get a chance. 6:50am I've had enough of the waiting and went to ask to speak to the manager. Only her to tell us that they just opened the box there's nothing new other than just the restock of what they already had on the floor. The only reason they opened the box is because I complained. We're not scalpers nor do we understand the process of getting newly released cups, but this has to be most unprofessional Starbucks I've been to. Stopping in on a long trip between Houston and Midland... Needed some caffeine but not a lot, and the barista was very helpful to recommend a decaf latte to me. I went to the restroom, which was clean, and when I came out my drink was ready. On my way out the door the barista that even shouted "have a safe trip Hannah!" Excellent service. Five stars for the amazing, and accommodating staff that work here. Five stars for having fresh coffee, even in the later afternoon. Two stars for sharing a building with the bank? Two stars for the confusion of trying to figure out why a Starbucks would share the same building with the bank. Three stars for the bathrooms, adequate.... I am aware that this particular Starbucks, has a lot of bad reviews, and I do have to disagree with those bad reviews. After I went in the store and waited and n line behind two other people for 10 minutes, I got to the counter and they told me it would be 20 minutes, because they just got a big order. Mind you there was no one else behind me, so i feel like they could hav served the last person in line standards No in front of them. I have never been to Starbucks ever, until Sunday why you ask, I don't drink coffee and never will. I just don't like coffee and that has nothing to do with Starbucks. My wife called me a Starbucks Virgin. However, I am not anymore because I went to one in Bastrop with her over the weekend. I always wonder why anyone would pay $5 to $10 dollars for fancy coffee when you can but it for a buck or so at the nearest Mickey D's or the 7-11. But that is not for me to say, my wife buys her coffee and tea here as well as pastries. I had a mixed tea and lemonade drink and we got the oatmeal cookie and the blueberry pastry thingy. This location was new and clean and the service was fine, I noticed some people drinking their drink of choice and surfing the net with free wifi. Now don't get me wrong I like Starbucks and really enjoyed the pastry and the tea/lemonade drink I had. Would I go back? Yes, for the pastries but not for coffee. My wife will be at one many times in the next month so she makes up or my absence. read more

DO NOT follow the map on here. It is WRONG. For some reason yelp keeps saying hwy 71 is county road 71! Get on this, Yelp! Hopefully people don't follow the directions on here. Just exit Hasler and it's located at Hasler and 71 in the bank there. The service at this starbucks is great (very professional and nice people). Typical starbucks fare (sandwiches, muffins, etc) and the inside is nice and cozy. The outside patio is in the parkin lot, which can't be avoided. Good place to stop when you're traveling between Houston and Austin! read more

This is the oddest location ever, but not in a bad way. It's like the bank decided it needed to just run a drive through and let Starbucks rent the lobby so the bank could get cheaper space in the strip center. It's really funny looking, but worth a laugh. And yes, Yelp is a little messed up on the mapping in Bastrop. I tried to check in and it said I was 12 miles away. It is on 71 at Hasler in front of the HEB. Carl's Jr was messed up too, dunno what the glitch is. Anywho, normal Starbucks experience for the most part. Slow drive through, busy, but the guys were super friendly and I liked that instead of writing your info on the cup, they got all high tech and printed the data on a sticker and stuck it to the cup. Although it's very busy (being the only Starbucks within 22 miles), they are very quick! Jenny and Kaia are absolutely wonderful! Always smiling and so positive. Hannah is also great too! If it wasn't for the fast internet I would never go to this Starbucks. The baristas have a habit of taking my order, charging me, forgetting to give me my coffee and asking me what I'd like to order when I go up to ask for the drink I've already paid for. I normally get a blonde roast which happens to be a pour over, but still simpler than a frappuccino or whatnot. But more often than not, I end up waiting +20 minutes for a cup of coffee which is no longer hot by the time I get it. In fact the only time I get a drink on time is when I order a Teavana tea and that's probably because it's just hot water with a teabag in it. read more

I've been to Starbucks big and small from NYC to Savannah, DC to Salt Lake City. This location is and always has been horrid, unfortunately the only one close to the hotels here. They don't follow corporate policies, the baristas are rude, and it's always dirty. I had to search for the barista who had filled my mobile orders because they "never call out order names" so said the Barista who had just done so for the three orders she jumped ahead of mine. I'd hate to see this place in a holiday rush. read more

Drive thru takes waaaay too long. If anyone is in line when I drive I don't go. I just drive elsewhere. Shouldn't take that long to make a latte. In Austin it doesn't take nearly as long. Maybe Bastrop needs more staff. Especially in the early mornings when people are going to work. I would give more stars if it were faster service. read more

I usually go through the drive through but today (10/4/17) I went in to the storefront because I wanted to buy a gift card. I went to the restroom which is for all customers. Upon entering the smell was pungent and the floor had many dirty paper towels. I had to clean the seat first before using. As I was coming out I saw an employee and reported the problem. She looked at me, no smile, and said "ok" and went behind counter where she waited on me with her same sullen face. I spent $26 and barely got a thank you. I asked her to not fill up with coffee cup because I wanted to put cream in, but guess what? Filled to the very top. Had to pour out coffee. There is a new coffee shop in town so I may need to go there next time. I usually buy coffee out 3-4 times a week. read more

They are always so friendly and gracious! I bring my son in there all the time and they often give him free refills on his "coffee", child-size cocoa, and let me know that it really is their pleasure to serve us! Once I ordered coffee I just really didn't like and they let me keep it and made me a new one! Even when they are super busy, they make time to have small conversation and answer any and all questions you may have to better your overall experience! Service from Laura is atrocious and rude! I work in Bastrop 2 days a month and always get a large order for my clients from this location. The past SEVERAL times when I pick up I have gotten the eye rolls, huffs and sighs from her when I pick up my order. The first time- maybe She is having a bad day- I get get! As far as Starbucks locations go, this one is okay. It's great that Bastrop even has a Starsbucks, so one can't really complain. I've come on weekday afternoons for pick me up drinks. I've tried a strawberry smoothie, when I was looking for a healthier option. It was a decent smoothie- well blended and not too heavy or sweet. I came when the Midnight Mint Mocha Frappuccino first came out. I think it was a happy hour special as well. This was my favorite drink from this location by far. It doesn't hurt that I love mint and mocha either. The last time I came by a week or two ago, I tried one of the new Teavana Shaken Iced Peach Green Tea. They asked me if it was okay if there was no ice. I asked if the drink would still be cold as it was 90+ degrees outside and certainly didn't want hot tea. The barista said yes it would be cold. Not only did they get my name wrong, they didnt' call my name, I just saw my drink standing on the counter and grabbed it when I saw no one with the name "Breanna" coming for the drink. It wasn't really cold. It was 1 step above room temperature maybe. I took it home and put ice in the drink to make it better. I hope that in the future that they have sufficient ice for their cold beverages and that service is more in line with I've experienced at other Starbucks locations. I always seem to get Starbucks gift cards, so I'm sure I'll be back. read more

Could be better. I don't mind a long drive through line, but not the best customer to employee interaction. Say hello and give a total, don't make a face while asking for the card and after handing the food say "THANK YOU BYE". I understand the line is long and Starbucks customers are probably bougie and annoying but I showed nothing but kindness and patience. On top of that the food prep just seemed rushed in general as well as the handing of the food. My hot chocolate was lukewarm and had no whipped cream. (which isn't the end of the world but cmon) Not a huge issue, but why the attitude from the worker. Kill that ego. read more

I am not normally one to write bad reviews, but I have to share what just happened to me at the Starbucks in Bastrop. If you are from here or have ever been to the Starbucks here, you know it is connected to a bank. There are two drive-thrus. One is the entrance to the Starbucks line, and one is for all the bank lines. They are on complete opposite ends. I drive up through the Starbucks drive-thru and get in line. This lady who I assume is waiting at the bank, tries to get in front of me. She starts waving her hands and making gestures to say that she wanted in. Now I assumed she was not originally trying to get into the Starbucks line, since she was coming from the complete opposite direction and at the bank. She hits the gas trying to get in line, comes very close to hitting me, then drives away. Apparently she went in to talk to the manager. I pull up to the window and instead of giving me my hot chocolate, this is what the manager, Matthew Holly, says: "A regular customer came in and said that you cut her off in line and flipped her off." I said that I absolutely did not do that because I don't believe in flipping people off (during road rage or any other situation) and that she was not in line. Then I ask him what he means by "regular customer" and he said, "She comes in here almost every day." Here's what I'm thinking... If she comes in often, she should know that the line doesn't go that way. And you can't expect people to let you in, even if you are a regular. I asked him why he felt the need to point out that she was a regular customer and he didn't know what to say. The fact of the matter is, he values her more than he does an occasional customer, because she brings in more business. Not only is she lying about the situation anyway, but she is not any more or any less important than I am. I think it was wrong of the manager to handle the situation in that way and I will not be going back to experience the disrespect and unfairness that I felt today. Normally I would say this was a customer flaw, rather than a store problem, but the manager bought into the other customer's accusations and made me feel less-valued, not only as a customer, but as a person. This isn't just bad coffee or slow service, this is the compassion and consideration you give your customers and today I felt less important because of how I was treated. read more

Stopped in last night on the way through town about 7pm. The place looked packed, so we hit the drive through. The lady at the window was really nice and friendly. Her and the guy who was making our drinks were joking around with us. Then they wished us a safe trip. The drinks were very good (caramel machiatto and a zebra hot chocolate). We've stopped at this location many times when passing through town and it's always consistanly good. My only complaint is the location. Trying to get out of the parking lot and to the underpass can be a real bitch during rush hour. It's easier to go around the other side and through the HEB parking lot. read more

I have never had such a horrible experience at Starbucks. I just waited over 45 mins to get a coffee that had already been brewed. The staff focused on the drive thru and literally had a building of people waiting. Once I got my drink, after people behind me in line got theirs, it was not even a full cup and tasted like garbage. Every time I come in here, there's a gaggle of little girls working who are more interested in laughing and talking about their personals lives. Loudly. They can be heard throughout the store. Currently, there's a girl called Jackie sitting on the counter talking to her co-workers, loudly, using inappropriate language. The girl who appears to be the manager just walks by. Without taking action. The guys who work here are always professional and on point. But these girls ... y'all need to step up your game, Starbucks. I had to use the restroom and go #2, there was no toilet paper at all. Went to wash my hands, there was no soap. Restroom was very very obviously not taken care of at all, it was a mess in there. Usually means that behind the counter they don't care about being clean too, who knows. My drink did seem to turn out ok, but it took forever (10 minutes). read more
