I usually don't leave reviews, but this has been a repeated issue at the Dowlen Starbucks. Too many times I've had to either come back to get my drink remade, go to another location, or just deal with it because I didn't have the time. Most recently, I ordered a matcha with oatmilk, a splash of water, and 3 pumps of sugar-free vanilla and hazelnut. Instead, it was made with the wrong milk, way too much water, and no real flavor from the syrups. I ended up driving to another Starbucks just to have the drink fixed. Unfortunately, this location has been consistently disappointing, and it's left a bad taste in my mouth--literally and figuratively. read more

I came here as a treat for myself because I don't do outside coffee places anymore. I have discovered most of them put sugar pumps in their coffees I guess to make the base taste better, and I cannot do that. Plus Starbucks has gotten out of control with their prices. However, I wanted to try the viral Keto Pink Drink. I love the Pink Drink so much I started making it at home, but it is loaded with sugar. This one rocked. Not the same but a definite close and delicious. I ordered my drink in the app and saw I must have selected in store pickup. Even with at least 8 cars in the drive-thru, it took maybe five minutes for them to have my drink ready for pickup. My experience has never been this quick in Houston. Starbucks on college is much better. The one on Dowlen really depends on who's working there. The afternoon shift is definitely not good at all- they always mess up orders then get mad when you want it corrected. The wait is always a minimum of 20 mins and the coffee sometimes tastes like day old garbage. I ordered the same thing I order every morning and here's how it went... Me: hey can I get a venti iced pistachio latte with oatmilk, light ice, and no whip cream. And how many shots of espresso does that come with?" Guy: you want an extra shot? Visiting family for the holidays and found this Starbucks (not the one in Kroger). This Starbucks is a big attraction for the area, the line was wrapped around the building and standing room only inside. I think they are understaffed with the amount of traffic this store sees, nevertheless the staff they do have are wonderful and drinks were perfect. Decent location. I've come here a good amount of times for various reasons. It can fill up with people, but for the most part, you can find a table and an outlet if you need to use your laptop or study. This is a smaller location, but their outdoor patio area is great for meeting up with friends or studying. It's shaded, so that's great. Inside, there are about 3-4 smaller 2 seater tables against the window and then 3-4 lounge chairs, 1 community table in the middle, then about 9-10 more seats towards the "back". The drive-thru line can get pretty backed up. Some days you'll find it with 2 lines from people coming from different directions, so one going towards Folsom, then the other going towards Kroger's gas station. Craziness! read more

Wouldn't even give them a star if I had the option. They remodeled recently and made the inside smaller than it already was. It's always so filthy inside. The service is terrible and takes seriously forever. My kids always ask when we pull up if this is "the Starbucks that takes forever." I have tried and tried to give them a shot in hopes that my experiences would improve but they've just gotten worse. My lattes always taste bitter. (The espresso just sits too long before mixing) none of the other locations have issues making my drinks, just this one. I feel like they would be better off shutting this whole location down and starting a new bigger one that better accommodates the volume of people who come and staff accordingly. The only reason I can think of for it to take 30 minutes per costumer to make a coffee and back the line up as bad as it always is, is a staffing issue. Or train them better! Let me start off by saying this is my fav Starbucks, we go there all the time. But, this last visit we waited around 25min for our coffee and there were only three people ahead of us in the drive thru. Also, I ordered the new tye-die frappuccino and I got a banana cream drink with minuscule sprinkles on top. It was completely yellow. On this particular visit they also messed up our order, giving us the wrong cake pop. Like I said, this is my fav Starbucks but if changes are not made i will not be coming back very often. Terrible experience. The workers behind the counter were out done by the volume of business. They were out of quite a few items and slow. I guess they were working hard, but they were getting further behind. The 20+ minutes it took us to get our 2 coffee drinks was a little much. Apparently the mobile app gets priority too. This Starbucks is run down, at every visit they are out of something - it's been napkins, straws, drink stoppers, coffee sleeves at various visits. No hi, no "what can I get started for you", didn't tell me my total, didn't say thank you or any other word to me, for that matter. I was traveling I-10E and was in need for a Starbucks. This was the closest where I was at. With about 7 cars in the drive-thru I thought it would've been quicker if I went inside to order. When I walked in, there was 1 other person in line. I ordered 2 drinks off the menu and it took about 20 minutes to get my drink. Looks like they were making the drive-thru a priority. Now I know to use the drive-thur no matter how many cars. Lesson learned, though I think walk-ins should be treated separately. Also, the condiment bar was pretty messy and needed re-fills.
