The Centereach, N.Y. Starbucks. Lake Ronkonkoma and Holbrook are currently a Starbucks desert. If you live in these hamlets, you will have to drive a few miles to visit a Starbucks. This is not surprising considering that Holbrook and Lake Ronkonkoma are Dunkin Country. When my brother and I visited my dad for a week, there was this one late afternoon that we decided to partake in an hour walk to the Centereach Starbucks. This is one of the older Starbucks on Long Island. It opened in the early 2000s with a shopping center refurbishment that brought in a Waldbaum's (now a gym), Buffalo Wild Wings, and more. To me, spending time in this Starbucks brought back memories of a shopping center that I had been familiar with since the late 1970s when it housed Play World, Cheap John's, US-1 Auto, and the longest lasting KFC on Long Island where had dined several times back when the Walmart across the street was a Modell's. Although we walked here, I can tell that this is an easy shopping center Starbucks to park in. There is sufficient parking plus a traffic signal at the Route 25 entrance. As far as ambiance this isn't a fancy or a unique Starbucks like the Port Jefferson Village location. The ambiance is of a local shopping center coffee shop off a very busy arterial. When it came to enjoying a savory cup of Starbucks coffee in a comfortable and relaxing setting, it got the job done. The inside is larger than it seems from the exterior. There is plenty of seating. Taking into consideration it is a corner location, there are windows on the north and east-facing sides. I had no trouble finding an outlet to connect my device. When we visited here on Saturday, July 22, 2023 from 5:35 pm to 7 pm, they were playing 1980s songs. The tall coffee with two Splendas that I ordered came out to a few cents short of $3. This is similar to what I pay for a Starbucks tall coffee in Las Vegas. During our visit, it was sparsely busy. The Baristas were pleasant and served the beverage in a timely manner. Not that we were in a rush on our vacation. If I still lived in the Holbrook and Lake Ronkonkoma area, I could see myself driving here for several Starbucks experiences. Because I live over 3,000 miles away, I am left to share only one Centereach Starbucks experience on Yelp. read more

Food (4/5): Got the iced brown sugar Oatmilk Shaken espresso. It was quite good and had a good level of sweetness. Service (3/5): It was busy when we came and the order of that drink took around 20 minutes to come out. Ambiance (4/5): The usual Starbucks ambiance. Been getting my iced coffee fix for many years now...10? But I only come here bc they offer soy (vanilla) milk not creamer. Oh yea have tried DD they only offer almond and oat milk...yuck.so I'm stuck here! The other issue is the service... below par..ok they hand me my drink. But guess what? I'm also all about service politeness at least a smile! Most times I feel like I am bothering them. Really! They make a good amount of mistakes. Starbucks needs to train on service and skills... I always ask for 1/2 soy. 1/2 coffee I get that 40% of the time have to say oh no please more soy!!!! So for the sweet price of $4.07 I want it my way....& that's the small size. read more

Good Starbucks location to get some work done. While out for a family visit I camped out here for a few days for some alone time. Nice place to bring your computer and use the strong wifi. This Starbucks that just opened on middle country rd next to Mozzafiato.... On ANOTHER level . The baristas here take PRIDE in the drinks they make! Especially the young gentleman. He is FABULOUS! And his drinks are the best I've had from any Starbucks from Cali, FL, ATL and NYC. His are the BEST! I get something different every day just to try new things cause he makes them all perfectly. His customer service is also on another level. I hear him interacting with all the customers and he remembers everyone and their drink order! Also, saved it for last because it's what matters least to me, but the decor in this Starbucks with the fresh flowers on the table?! Amazing! Nicer than any other Starbucks on the island!! I drive OUT of my way to go to this one. And the only other establishment I will inconvenience myself to get to is my tattoo shop. A+++++++++++++! They are constantly out of something (right now most holiday drinks arent available) it's always something. I only come out of convenience because it's near my job. Most the workers are wonderful. The manager and one of the workers are very unprofessional and rude. I am very disappointed I have came here for many years and since new manager came my experience has been not good. I ordered my drink that I have always ordered and because of the manager telling the employees not to make it the way I pay for they would not do my drink. Nice people but lately my drink is not being filled to top. As it is not cheap and I go there daily, I think this is pretty bad. I work at a different Starbucks. I was passing by this store unexpectedly and I stopped in for a drink. The person ringing me up (who was a newbie) said they were out of coffee base. I said this is fine. Coffee base is the last ingredient before a Frappuccino is blended: coffee base for coffee fraps and crème base for fruit or any no coffee frap. As I was waiting (and waiting ) for my drink, I looked around at their setup. While doing this, I noticed that they DID have coffee base, and I realized that when the cashier (and someone else sweeping nearby confirmed) told me they didn't have coffee base, what they meant was frap roast. Frap roast is the concentrated, caffeinated part of coffee based fraps that is the majority of the coffee flavor. I asked one of the baristas if they were out of frap roast and he said yes. I asked if they could add a shot of espresso to my Frappuccino as I DID NOT WANT a crème based, non coffee flavored drink. Keep in mind I am an employee of the company. So someone else sweeping at the other end of the counter turns around and says YEAH BUT YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR THE SHOT. This is incredibly RUDE not just for a partner but honestly for customers in general. Starbucks partners can drink free beverages from half hour before to a half hour after their shift. Outside of that time we enjoy a 30% discount. Isn't it weird that they charged me? They gave me incorrect information when I placed my order and only because I know better did I realize what was about to happen. If I were working and this happened to a partner from another store, I surely wouldn't have charged them. If anyone orders a decaf coffee frap, they get a shot of decaf espresso instead of frap roast at no additional charge. I'm struggling to understand why a partner was charged extra because this location isn't able to keep frap roast in stock. I used to come here occasionally when I lived in the area and there wasn't anything spectacular about this location but nothing bad happened then which is why I'll give it 2 stars instead of 1. The windows are nice. Other than that, when placing your order keep in mind that the person ringing you up doesn't know what the ingredients are so you may or may not get the correct drink. read more

I went in for a caramel frap today around almost 6 something 7pm? There were 2 girls working. One brunette and one blonde. They were talking the whole time - nonstop. Their conversations can be heard through out the whole store. Typical highschool girls that talk about other girls but would you please lower your voices? It's rude to talk to your friend while taking my order as well. That aside - worst caramel frap. It was practically liquid and I don't know how she managed to make that. This Starbucks is somewhat hard to find unless you're specifically looking for it or know that it's there. It's located in the same strip mall as Buffalo Wild Wings. It's smaller than most Starbucks so it can seem really crowded if just a few customers walk in. They also close earlier than most Starbucks so if it's past 9pm and you need your fix, drive down to the Starbucks in Selden. +1 for the customer service. I needed a Grande Bold Pick of the Day and when they didn't have quite enough to fill the cup, they topped it off with their regular brew and gave it to me on the house. :D read more

Today the mobile ordering was glitching and sent my order to a much further location - when I showed up to Centereach they didn't hesitate to make my drink perfectly for me and not charge me. This Starbucks store is the nearest one to my home and I am familiar with staff here- they're friendly and helpful, and they smile more often than other starbucks employees. The space here is large enough to be an average, and because it's located in a side corner of the mall, it has much larger glass wall area than ordinary stores. The sunshine is perfect. They even replaced every furniture with new ones, including a large wooden six- seated dining table. I think it's underrated. read more

My favorite Starbucks location. Always gets my orders right, drinks are delicious, and the staff are very friendly.

I don't understand why this area is rated like 3 stars. This is my go-to store if I am not near my store. ( I work at a licensed store.) they actually make drinks correctly here, fast, are consistent.. And although they may be a little talkative to each other and not the guests, I don't find anyone here rude at all. Parking lot is huge also and the store is never crazy, crazy busy. Only complaint I could have is once I got a salted caramel mocha and they missed out on the salt. Figured they ran out or missed a shipment, it happens. But yeah, go-to store :) read more

This is a standard Starbucks: coffee, blended drinks, cake slices, and pre-made sandwiches. All of the staff are friendly and everything is cleaned quickly. I've come to prefer this location over a few others because it does not attract as many other people, making it great for doing homework. Also, it seems like there are less grounds in the coffee here than some other locations, but it could just be coincidence. read more

I come here a few times a week in the morning and the afternoon and I order the exact same thing (iced mocha coconut milk macchiato). This morning, there was no chocolate mocha syrup in it at all - only caramel and white mocha. I told them that there was no chocolate mocha in it and they were arguing with me that there was chocolate mocha in it - but that it just sunk to the bottom. I lifted it up to show them that there was clearly no chocolate mocha, only caramel and white mocha (it was very clear to see by the drink as there was no brown syrup in it anywhere). I kindly explained that I come to this location often and order this exact drink. They continued to argue with me and were yelling at each other asking if it was made wrong while talking to me in a very nasty tone. They spent so much time arguing with each other and trying to convince me there was chocolate mocha in it, instead of just taking it back and simply saying, "no problem - we will add more chocolate mocha syrup."
