I live within walking distance of 4 Starbucks! 4! And yet, I walk a few blocks to this one, as it is on my way to work, and close to my parents' who dog-sit my pup while I work. The baristas here are ALL amazing, but Randy and Tony really go out of their way to make everyone feel welcome, and attempt to know the regulars on an individual level. THAT makes all the difference, which is why I go to this chain in Lincoln Sq., rather than the other coffee houses that are independently owned in the area. Service DOES speak volumes for me, and it shows in the way the baristas behave. Clearly, they like their jobs and the atmosphere! Keep it coming! read more

Great -- if you love toddlers running everywhere and screaming babies or, I suppose, if you yourself are under age 4. Hard to know what rating to give. It's a comfortable Starbucks with lovely, friendly employees. Talking to them is often a nice way to start the day. But to sit down, it's a place for new parents especially. I think if I was a new parent I would like this aspect of it, really. It's cool that there's a cafe where new parents can go. Why can't Lincoln Square have a great independent, European style cafe with outdoor seating. Cafe Neo or Selmarie is the best alternative but at Neo the El ROARS over your head and Selmarie is restaurant. Lincoln Square deserves better. The Grind? I want to love it but jeez..... read more

Based on a visit last week, this was one of my least pleasant Starbucks experiences. An exhausted barista making drinks in no particular order, tepid cashier lacking the classic Starbucks greeting, barback scurrying around doing everything except helping the busy barista, and drinks about 3/4 full were a few observations during my 17-minute wait for a shaken iced tea. I'm a pretty easy-going soul, but something was fundamentally off at this store. And an online customer service comment about the experience yielded no response. I'll stick with the great service at the Foster and Sawyer store. read more

Dear Lincoln Square Starbucks, I'm just not that into you, sometimes I cheat on my regular Starbucks Baristas and stop by in the morning. More than half the time my order is wrong and I am always over charged or charged wrong. You never give me my discount for being a registered card member and frankly I am sick of telling you to do it. The Barista's and staff are friendly, and pony up when they are wrong but what's the problem? Am I not speaking clearly? No Comprende on all the mistakes. So thanks this morning for charging me $4.81 for my drink that I get every single day sometimes twice a day that costs me $2 less than that. Why am I always over charged here? It's a bit weird, don't all Starbucks have the same prices? Everybody has a bad day, but come on this has gone on long enough. I wish I would have been paying better attention today, it's not the $2 that pisses me off it's the every time I go there I am never happy with the end result. Shame on me for returning so many times. Also there are always 4-5 people behind the counter and this is the slowest Starbucks in the morning rush. This is probably the prettiest Starbucks I've been into. The location is HUGE with lots of windows to let in lots of natural light on a warm, summer day. There is also outdoor seating for those who want to people watch the passers by on Lincoln Avenue. The staff seemed friendly though I found it weird that one of them was mopping the floors and putting chairs on top of tables despite still having a few hours before the shop closed. The only downside definitely is that there's only one bathroom in the whole location, which isn't good being as big as it is. read more

I really like this Starbucks! I have fond memories of studying for the GRE at this location and am glad to say that it has only improved since those days. They completely remodeled and upgraded the interior a few months back. The location has a ton of seating and outlets for computer people. The baristas are also pretty neat. I haven't had a bad experience or a mixed up order and I've been here more times that I'm willing to admit to and at times ordered one drink too many. There is one annoying thing that I will admit to but I can't blame the actual employees or business for it- at times it is packed with strollers. And I mean packed! I have nothing against children and I have nothing against moms meeting up for coffee with their kids in tow, it sounds like a fun friend get together no different from when I come to hang out with my friends at a coffee shop, but there's a way of doing just that without making it impossible for people to walk around you so they can leave. read more

Things I love about this place: Huge space with plenty of seating, tall ceilings, and enormous windows (Run-of-the-mill) free wi-fi It's really close to my house Things I don't like: The noise level is pretty loud due to the amount of people the place can hold and the hoard of small children that are trucked here by their caffeine-addicted parents. There is only one restroom/toilet for the whole shop. It's not kept very clean throughout the day (overflowing large trash can, water on the floor), and I nearly did the splits slipping on a puddle. Overall, it's a generic Starbucks where I can work and eat overpriced sandwiches. read more

This place keeps blasting the AC really high for either more sales from their current customers to get a hot drink to keep warm, or they want you to eat/drink and leave ASAP. I asked them to turn the AC down and they tell me they have no control over the AC. Bullsh*t. I checked online from other Starbucks employees to know thats not the case. I buy more than just a cup a coffee, I buy my lunch here and sometimes an evening snack. I get you don't want laptop squatters. But you should appreciate those that actually are good paying customers. You aren't exactly a small company to be cutting corners for not earning enough from your customers. read more

When did Starbuck's turn into the McDonald's of coffee? Maybe when they exchanged trained baristas for automatic, push-button espresso machines (which often seem to be out of calibration). Or, maybe it was when they added the children's play area. I'm only writing this as I continue to diligently report on the Lincoln Square beat. With the main strip featuring many great coffee shops and with Starbuck's out-of-whack machine dribbling out weak coffee I don't see the point of going here. A weak latte is worse than a bad latte. And, I don't mean to single out this location for this problem. It's become common-place to get a latte with an extra shot and still have it taste like a cup of steamed milk. read more

Beautiful location. Well decorated. It can get kinda crowded on the weekend and during lunch. I think it closes kinda early. It can get a little backed up, but I don't mind. This Starbucks is hands down the best in the city! All of the baristas here are extraordinary! I've been coming here for years and never am I disappointed! Today I walked in for my usual iced caramel coffee and couldn't log into my app! (New phone, a million passwords). I personally really love Starbucks, so I guess there is a bias But this Starbucks in particular always feels very inviting. The ora of this Starbucks is a nice combination of work and play with people either intently focused on their laptops or chatting a way idly. The baristas always seem to be in general good moods, and they always seem like they are happy to help. The powermat charging chords on the center table as well as on other tables throughout the Starbucks really does make staying at 100% easily plausible. The deserts are always tasty especially the cake pops. And my latte is always foamy and topped with whipped cream just the way I like it. To each their own but I really love coming to this Starbucks to work and study, its a little bit louder than a library but much quieter than being my apartment. read more

This review is based on three out of five visits to this location, those made the summer of 2018, arriving b/w 2-4 on a weekday. Those three visits, they have not had the drink I first ordered in stock. A drink being promoted by signage. Another time, they _again_ didn't have the promoted drink, they didn't have all ingredients for the second drink I requested (also being promoted) but offered a replacement ingredient which I accepted. I said "wow, I'm not doing to well here" and was told "it's not your fault." Thanks for explaining it's not my fault that I want to purchase items you're promoting but don't actually have available to sell. Then they upcharged me for the replacement of the unavailable ingredient, which I protested. Perhaps it would also be unreasonable to expect more than 1 of the 7 teenagers taking all the lounge seating to be consuming a Starbucks product, what with other customers coming off the line with no where to sit. I would have given only one star, but one of the cashiers did offer to make a pour over version of the promoted drink that they did not have ready, if I would wait. read more

Love love love this location. It's spacious as hell and is generally a laptop campers dream. Hands down the biggest Starbucks I myself have been in. The Baristas are mad friendly, sociable, and down to earth. I had a great chat with one who turned out to be a ballet dancer from my hometown of LA! Also, the drinks were perfect. I will say that I didn't see that many outlets,though, but maybe I wasn't looking hard enough. Anyway love this place and will definitely be back. read more

No, this update is for the clientele: Ok, thanks to the people who insist on bringing their young children in here, I've bailed on this one and have headed elsewhere. Seriously, I just don't get why some parents think it's ok to have their toddlers run amok in a place that is ostensibly for adults (or at least, kids who are old enough to use '6 inch voices' and generally behave accordingly in a coffee shop.) As I note in my review below, I'm not a childless spinster - I have 3 children that I would have never dreamed of bringing into a place like this when they were 2 or 3. Once again, I've witnessed 2 or 3 moms with small babies and toddlers TOTALLY trash the leather-chair seating area, which, upon their hoped-for exit, had to be completely swept and mopped of their cheerios, wrappers, and other general detritus that one expects of small children. Sorry, hipster mom, but buying a triple-shot-skim-whatever does not entitle you to a personal Starbucks clean up crew. And, because I've noticed the general trend lately of parents bringing their young children with them absolutely everywhere, I don't expect this to change any time soon. Oh, well. read more

Love this location because it's so spacious with inside seating and the small patio in the storefront. The baristas are friendly and helpful. It's so cozy inside my boys like to come here and lounge on the comfy chairs and since it's child friendly they take their time sipping on their frap! Tried placing a simple drink order, paid, and then the same employee never made my drink. I waited 15 minutes as 10+ people got their drinks. Absolutely unacceptable. UPDATE: While I am a regular at the Starbucks on Montrose in Ravenswood I have occasionally ended up here and have previously enjoyed my stay except for the terrible, and I mean terrible, internet access needed for work. However, they have reconfigured the space and updated their wifi (switching over to Google, which is always a strong move) and it is working great. Its a nice space in a great location and open later than many others nearby. This bumps my rating from a 2 to 4 stars easily and if the service is consistent over time I will happily add the final glowing star. Nice work! Old post: I will start by saying that I have never had bad service here, I have had friendlier service at other starbucks in the area but the people working here are A-OK in my book. The main issue here is that when I need to go to starbucks it serves as my office for a couple of hours and this place has the internet bandwith that could powerfully handle all of your 1997 needs. Its incredibly slow and the single bathroom (as opposed to the one for the boys and another for the girls) is less than ideal. All in all its totally fine for drinks but for any period of time I'd head to the bucks on Montrose near the brown line any day of the week. read more
