This is a really great Starbucks! I've been here many times, and I can honestly say that I've never had a bad experience here. The employees are always so nice, and even though I only get a simple black coffee, it always tastes delicious. I'd also like to shout out this location for the appreciation that they show to veterans. They have so many pieces of artwork dedicated to those who serve(d) our country, as well as a special memorial with the names of veterans written on it (I didn't want to take a picture of this, as I wanted to respect the privacy of their names). I also think that they did it in such a classy way, that isn't over the top and in your face, but is still bound to catch your eye. Overall, while I'm a big Starbucks fan in general, this particular location stands out as amongst the others for its customer service, as well as its tributes to American veterans. read more

With the team of three, one greeting customers upon entrance & kindly holding at bay by the make shift barrier, another handling paperwork & the other preparing the orders. Although the inside of the store was closed to customers, it was still in an organized fashion with the required safety measures displayed accordingly. I'm slowly becoming less and less of a Starbucks fan, but still occasionally visit. I love the Chestnut Praline Latte and egg white red pepper bites. I always do the mobile order, and so does everyone else. Sometimes it takes them a while to prepare the drinks and food. Like, a while! There is a lot of parking, but depending on the time of your visit, it can be crowded. read more

I have the Starbucks app and always make sure to order ahead of time when I'm on the way to the store and it makes pick up a breeze -- my order is normally ready upon arrival and I'm in and out of the store within a couple minutes. read more

My husband and I desperately needed some coffee for our drive back to Augusta, GA after making a stop in Columbia, South Carolina early this morning. Conveniently, this Starbucks was right next to the diner we had breakfast at. Placed an order for two drinks, my usual hot white mocha with peppermint syrup and a grande hot coffee with cream and sugar for my husband. Planned on using my reward points for my drink, knowing I'd have to pay the difference for the peppermint syrup and for my husbands coffee which I also planned on doing through the app. I'm not certain if the cashier was new or not but it seemed like she couldn't understand what I was trying to do and kept telling me that my total was higher than what I was supposed to be paying. I have done this at many different locations and have never had issues so it was frustrating trying to explain and figure out why this issue was arising. Finally after about 5 minutes the only gentleman working, whose name I wasn't able to get, came and helped figure out the problem. Their system was saying I didn't have enough points but I showed them my app and he was just able to comp my drink since the system seemed to be glitching. I was pretty frustrated at this point, but the gentleman was able to take care of my issue and it made me feel somewhat better. Shortly after though, my frustration arose again when the cashier somehow removed the cream off of my husband's drink and I had to ask to make sure his coffee had cream and sugar. The barista told me it only said sugar but gave me some cream as well. I thought my problems were finally over, but as soon as I got in my car I realized that my drink was not a white mocha, but instead just a regular mocha. At least they remembered the peppermint syrup! Thankfully, we don't live here and we don't come to this location regularly because the whole experience was mediocre, and my only pleasant encounter was the gentleman being so helpful in trying to resolve my issue. I am hopeful that other guests and customers have better experiences, sadly that was not the case for me. read more

While on our trip to Stein Mart, my daughter and I walked down here to get us a drink. We ordered the vanilla bean frap with caramel sauce and some pumps of vanilla. We normally order our drinks the exact same way, and it seems as if no matter what, they always seem to taste differently. It seems as though, you are being charged for the additions without them being put in....especially on mobile orders.... But let me get back on track, lol We walked in, with no one in line and no one greeted us, although no one was in line and drink orders were being made and we just stood there. Not a deal breaker. One of the baristas got the attention of another one to let her know we were there. She turned, spoke and we began to order. Our orders came up and we walked out. This Starbucks didn't stand out to me too much. It was just another day in a Starbucks that was overwhelmed and moving slow to serve customers. The card machine wasn't working for multiple customers which forced people to leave. I guess the good news there is that the line moves faster. They're an okay coffee spot. But I'd encourage you to seek another Starbucks if you're looking for elite service until Columbia finally gets selected to receive a Starbucks Reserve. -K. Fitz read more

I shouldn't have to wave my long gay arms in the air to get your attention. When you see me checking in at Starbucks you know I'm on a vacation or a roadtrip or something. I'm writing to y'all from the lovely, quite spacious wraparound patio of the SBUX in Trenholm Plaza. You know, home to the Anthro, Fresh Market, J. Crew and such. I have to admit that I love what they've done with the place and I really appreciate the amount of seating that's available both in- and outside. I'm not sitting on top of or wriggling by anyone. Maybe I've been in the northern cities for too long, but it's quite lovely to have space in which to sprawl and relax. My caramel iced coffee is good, creamy and strong, which has made powering through emails, blog updates and other persuals far easier than it seems to be when I'm trapped inside at my desk. A great variety-filled soundtrack has been playing for the past couple of hours, too, so that's been nice as well. The staff is friendly, chill and swiftly tending to all comers and goers. I think I've sat here long enough to fix my sights on a refill of sorts ... and maybe a handsome Army soldier or two :) read more

5 stars, 100% deserved! This is the fastest Starbucks I've ever been to. I've been coming here for about 6 months, and am always greeted by a friendly face, a compliment, and quick service. Parking usually isn't a problem because of the plaza, although some may not like that it's not a drive-thru. Personally, I like to get out of my car once and a while. It's always busy, so I assume I'm not the only one who shares these sentiments. There are no "local" coffee shops in this area -- so I'd be interested to see what would happen if one opened. Nonetheless, thanks for the fantastic service! Customer service is hard enough without the bad reviews. :) read more

First time going to this Starbucks and probably the last time. I'm giving two stars because I felt it was my fault of forgetting the matcha latte could come hot and iced. I usually get iced. I would've given one star because I thought the barista who gave my order did a terrible job at customer service. It was definitely busy, given it was a Sunday morning. It was kind of loud because of all the drinks being made and all and I couldn't hear the barista say my name and my drink. I definitely think she could've spoken louder. When I got my drink, I thought it was iced, but it was actually hot. So she gives me attitude saying, so you want it iced, talking to me like I'm an idiot, and I said yes. So she hands me a cup of ice and I just poured it, I was just a little confused because I don't know what their protocols with COVID were and if it was okay for me to do it. But other than that, I didn't like her attitude. I've worked with food before and I know what it's like to deal with the busy-ness. Very disappointed with both customer service and quality. My boyfriend and I are both Veterans and were thrilled at first when we saw the military decor in the walls of this SBUX ...it felt good to be in a place that supported the military....or so we thought until we asked if they gave military discount and received a very curt and cold "NO". The lady said it so loud that we were embarrased. ....she could have been a little nicer about that. Hoping that the coffee would at least make up for this rudeness, we waited for what seemed like a long time...but maybe it was because we didn't feel welcomed there. When we finally got our coffee, we were once again disappointed. They hardly had any flavor and it was bitter. I asked for no foam, but when i checked, it was obvious that this was not accomodated. Both my boyfriend and I felt that this store does the SBUX name injustice. Dont use military decor if you really don't support it. It felt like it was being used to mislead customers into thinking they support the military. Save other Veterans the embarassment of asking if you give military discount. Take down your miitary decor so Veterans won't ask. We don't expect all establishments to give military discount, and if your store is one of them, be honest enough not to exploit the military image for your self gain. read more

Caffeine addict, that's me! Starbucks is my favorite coffee shop around. I like some of the mom and pop places too but, at Starbucks, you know your drink is going to taste great at each location you go to. They all use the same beans and a recipe for each drink, so you can count on that same great taste. The staff at this location is great. They remember me and my drink. The outside sitting is nice. It is in a shopping center and it has a few tables but it still manages to be quiet and peaceful. read more

I enjoy when I am in Forest Acres coming to this Starbucks and getting my favorite cold brew with sweet cream! This store is clean and roomy with loads of seating inside and out. Meh, I am disappointed in this Starbucks. The interior is nice, there is exterior seating that is good yet the drinks taste as though the machines haven't been cleaned. I ordered my afternoon Espresso Truffle and I have to say that it was neither Espresso nor Truffle. A better name would be Bitter Cow Pow since that is what it tasted like. I love Starbucks for it's consistency -- this one is not. Can someone from corporate please come and whip this place into shape? I am paying good money to get a good drink. read more

Ordered 2 espresso drinks: pumpkin spice latte and salted caramel mocha. Neither had any special requests. 1) pumpkin spice latte: no whip, over spiced ( clumps of spices) and too much syrup--the coffee was more dark orange than brown. GROSS AND INEDIBLE. 2)salted caramel mocha: no whip, barista told us they were out of salt for caramel as she handed me the bev. Tastes like cocoa puffs, not coffee. WORST STARBUCKS EVER. My boyfriend & I stopped by here during Family day June 3, as my brother couldn't get off base. This Starbucks was easy to find and had plenty of parking. This location is very similar to other Starbuck locations (signs, menu, display counter). This location has two entryways, indoor seating & lots of outdoor seating. Such a nice quiet location. Surprisingly for being in a shopping center, this location has it's own little corner and is still able to be in a nice area with peace and quiet. I have been to this Starbucks quite a number of times in the past few weeks. I have gotten to know some of the evening staff a bit, and they remember me and basically continue our conversations from my previous visit each time I return. I am saddened, however, from being told that this location is out of reach of the delivery route, making this Starbucks a sandwich-free store :( as I really love the many kinds of sandwiches Starbucks has. read more

I work on the military base and go here at least three times a week. The coffee's not that good and sometimes it's slow but the people working here are incredibly nice. When the regular working crew is here it's fast and efficient. They get to know their customers and I kinda feel like a weird 6:30 am family where we all know each other but don't really want to talk to one another. Everyone working is just so nice so I come back day after day. It's a nice way to start a long week. I meet up here with co-workers on Friday mornings. There's always a nice crowd but it never seems to loud. read more

I do like Starbucks and seeing as how I now live in Seattle it is hard to avoid it but I still manage to support mostly independent coffee shops in whatever city I reside. Living in Columbia for 21 years I developed so much love for the coffee shops around town that are hosts to many caffeinated university students, musicians, bohemians, etc... Try Adrianna's a mere block from the 5 points Starbucks (which I boycott), the coffee may be a little watery, but their espresso drinks are great and they have gelato and a full menu! On a pretty day nothing is better than sitting at one of their four outdoor tables and watching the people and dogs that walk or roll past you. The staff is unbeatable and after a few visits you'll feel like you've come home! I also love Cool Beans near the Horse Shoe. It is at the top floor of an old creaky house.... man, I miss the south.... read more

Wonderful service during the day! Morning shift is quick, friendly, and an overall great experience! Night shift on the other hand... complete opposite. They don't even acknowledge you unless they are taking your order or handing you a drink. No smiles, no conversation, and very slow. I ordered a drink through the mobile app ten minutes before I arrived because I was in a hurry. Stood there for an extra ten minutes waiting on one lady to finish talking, and the other to finish taking her time with the two drinks in front of mine. I remember that the last time my wife and I came by in the evening, the same lady who was talking was very short and rude with us about our food. Took forever to finally get to putting it in the oven, and while most people would use common sense to just hand it to us when it was done, she walked all the way to the end of the bar to drop it off and "make a point" of saying we should have waited down there, rather than where we were next to the espresso machines. Side note: there was no one else in line, we weren't holding anybody up. Never going here again in the afternoon/evening. read more
