First time I've been to this location after hundreds of time passing by it on Woodland Blvd. I was in the area and wanted to use my points on a tumbler. I was intimidated by how crowded the parking lot was and inside was just the same. Lots of foot traffic and bodies crowding over the counters and tables. However, to my surprise -- the line went by really quickly. There was about seven groups ahead of me, five mins later... they're saying "Next in line!" I found the tumbler I've always wanted all the way out here in Deland so I had to snag it. I also needed to get a gift card for a birthday. I was helped by Alex who was very patient with me because I had two different transactions. He was patient and kind, also, very happy to be there. Stupid. Won't be doing business at this location again. Waited in a long line for the free holiday cup. Ordered my holiday drink online and no where did I see a message that says I wouldn't qualify for the free cup if I change the syrup to sugar free. Needless to say they forced me to buy another drink to be able to get the cup. Way to treat your customers. I live right down the street and I will never give another dime to this location. I will never again return to this Starbucks. Knowingly a barista handed me an extremely hot coffee at the drive-thru that was filled to the brim. To add insult to injury, the lid was not placed properly on the cup because it was overflowing. Not realizing this I took the cup and it spilled all over my hand, arm, and car. I couldn't even put the drink in my cup holder. I couldn't move for fear of burning myself even more. I couldn't get the baristas attention to let her know what happened. Finally I had to open my door, dump the coffee and knock on the drive-thru window to get her attention. I had to confront her about what she had done! All she said was sorry and handed me another cup of coffee. So Miss Barista if you want to know I was ok after going home and putting a cold compress on my arm and cleaning my car. Also you are lucky the coffee didn't spill on my granddaughter who was sitting in the front seat as I tried to put the overflowing drink in the holder. I like Starbucks even though they are a little bit pricey for what you get. Every time I come to this Starbucks even before the world went crazy there's nothing less than a 15 minute wait for anything. The drive through was at a 13 minute standstill, they NEVER have peppermint mocha which is one the the holiday flavors advertised all over the drive through and in the lobby and the only consistency and repetition this location has is being one of the worst run Starbucks. i love this Starbucks location and the new remodel gives it a great, fresh, modern look! indoor and outdoor seating is available but, unfortunately, there's no bakery case display anymore so you can't see any of the food/snacks that are usually esthetically laid out. the bathrooms are well-maintained and clean, good if you're staying in to study or get work done. the staff is always super sweet- Sam is my favorite barista, always asks how my day's going and knows my orders. parking's a little tight since it can be blocked by those going through the drive-through lane but this location is in a large plaza so lots of parking within a very short walking distance. read more

This review is specifically directed towards the Starbucks latte. If you enjoy a nicely crafted latte this is not the place for you. This Starbucks consistently produces the worst quality lattes my wife and I have ever had. Zero foam and the milk consistency and weight is terrible. You can barely taste the espresso even when we order a triple shot. It's a shame because they have pretty nice equipment in the store. We have spoken up about this and given it another chance multiple times. We are always told we are 'not ordering it correctly'. A latte is a latte. I don't understand how you can incorrectly order a latte. It feels terrible to spend $6 on a large cup of warmed milk with a faint coffee taste. I'm thinking it's a staff training issue. Regardless, we are done with this location for good. Caveat emptor! read more

Love this Starbucks as it is close to me and there is none in Lake Helen. They will be closing February 27 for a remodel. Not sure when it's going to reopen. They are only open till 4 PM today Friday, 25 February. I would call before heading over. These people are always super friendly and nice here. I get the iced lemon loaf which is super moist and delicious. And this time I got the pistachio iced coffee with vanilla sweet cream cold foam and pistachio pumps put in the sweet foam. It is delicious! Pistachio is my favorite so I take advantage of it before it is gone again. Don't forget to get the Starbucks app and reload either with your credit card or put gift cards on there so you earn points every time you purchase. Doesn't matter if you even reload the app with money. You could still use the scan only portion so that you can get points. This adds up and you can get free add-ons and free drinks after so many points. Enjoy! read more

I have many complaints about this location. Sadly it's the only Starbucks in Deland so it's your only choice. First thing is there is always a huge line and you can sit in the drive thru for 30-40 mins. Time management is not well here. Even if you order ahead and show up 10 mins late your drink is sometimes not ready! Second, this location is always out of basically everything. They never have all the ingredients to make your drink. If they do they are very stingy about it. For example, I usually get a pink drink and they always make it with more coconut milk than strawberry acai base because theyre always out! It's a white drink not pink drink! If you correct the workers or ask them politely to fix something they get an attitude. I expect a great drink that I'm going to enjoy after paying $6+ for it! ..... This Starbucks is literally the slowest Starbucks I have been to. If you have to wait in line with more than 8 cars it's about a 45 min wait. They always run out of Nitro cold brew. One of the worst Starbucks around. If I could give this Starbucks a zero I would. Your better off going down the road to Dunkin or stopping at a gas station. They better pick up on their speed and availability or they are going to have issues once the Wawa opens and their coffees become available. read more

It's nice to see the mighty metropolis of Deland Florida finally has a Starbucks location. It's a fairly standard size store with plenty of seating. There's a nice little outdoor seating area that runs right along Woodland Avenue so you can anticipate a bit of road noise if you are outside. Drinks here are the same as what you'd find it any other Starbucks. The employees scurry about busily as there are plenty of customers here and not another Starbucks for many miles. Not much else to report here as shops are not intended to very much from store to store. All good here and I'll be back again to get my required dose of morning caffeine. read more

Starbucks played a significant role in developing our taste for coffee into this sophisticated social web that elevated the common coffee-drinker into aficionados that stereotypes those that do and those that don't have a preference of how and where we get their coffee. Its gotten to the point a cup of coffee is almost unrecognizable with all the complicated descriptions and concoctions camouflaging a simple cup of coffee to ensure that there's something for everyone so everyone can participate whether or not we like coffee or not, further proving if you make anything attractive and appealing it will sell, kind of like putting lipstick on a pig, so never underestimate the power of giving people what they want and it never hurts to dress it up a little. This beautiful location was heaven sent for many with its great service and exceptional products, yes the coffee snobs are smiling in Deland and the competitive coffee shops are frowning. I always get the same thing at every Starbucks I go to. This place is the worst. I could tell by looking at My brown sugar shaken espresso it wasn't right. And it tasted horrible, like it had no coffee and a weird flavor to the oat milk. Three times I have been there for a vente latte and what's delivered is a tasteless mockery of coffee -it has no taste- zero. Cheap it's not... at the price charged, I'd at least like it to taste like coffee when Ihand them my $5 plus. Think I'm more aggravated with myself... done this three times in a row. I move to this area 2 years ago and have been to this location probably every other day since. So that's over 300 times. I have never had my order messed up and the quality has always been very good. The employees now know me and what I order when I walk in the door, they have always been very friendly and helpful. The manager is always very friendly. The entire concept of "mobile ordering" is to make things easier for the customer and not to have to wait in line for their order if they're in a rush. Upon arriving they informed us they "didn't have their mobile ordering system on" yet they surely took my money for my mobile order.
