I then drove 45 minutes to Kroger, only to receive a text at 3:55 PM, after I was already in the parking lot, stating that my order was not going to be ready. This is ridiculous and completely disrespectful of customers' time. Kroger asks customers to select a pickup window, notify the store when they are on the way, and trust that the order will be ready as scheduled. I did exactly what was required, and Kroger still failed to deliver on its end. A 45-minute drive is not a minor inconvenience. This cost me time, fuel, and unnecessary frustration. Last-minute notifications like this are unacceptable, especially when they come after the customer is already en route or has arrived. Kroger needs to either honor the pickup times it offers or stop advertising a service it is clearly not managing properly.
