I've gone to 3 different Starbucks and always get an iced Americano with vanilla protein cold foam, good place has been the ONLY one that mixes the protien in smoothly and splendidly. There was No lumpy protien nor gritty powder. Way to go guys. read more

This is not the same Starbucks from before. I'm not sure when things really changed but I know for the last few years at least the quality and taste just isn't there. That's not what my post is about but I had to say it. In general the brand has lost what made Starbucks, Starbucks. I want to comment about the service I experienced this morning. I placed my order in the drive thru . No greeting just a voice on the other side who sounded irritated of my presence. This happens a lot here. I was an everyday visitor for a few years. The staff used to make up for the terrible latte. The Barista was very rushed even though it's 6 am on a weekend. One other car and maybe a few people. I may have ordered more but I didn't want to after that. When I get to the window the first thing I hear is 806!, immediately the credit card reader is 5 inches from my face. No good morning, nothing. Just hurry up and get the heck out of here and the only real interaction was her watching as I made the decision on what to tip. They make it impossible not to. I tip, I've been a barista and worked in the food industry. That kind of service should not be rewarded though. I know she wasn't happy because after she handed the drink she slammed the window. I'm sorry I'm not tipping you 3 or 4 dollars on an 8.00 drink. What could possibly have already happened that day the with in 30 minutes of opening your already that angry about your day. Ordered a strawberry açaí lemonade and witnessed that when the server mixed the drink and poured it into the the cup she was going to give me, there were still juice left over in the cup. She preferred to serve me more ice and through out the remaining juice instead of getting rid of that extra ice How would she like it if I did that to her? It was very disappointing today when my phone charge was gone within 1 mile of my destination in a dense shopping area. I was lost. The staff here is what separates this Starbucks from other Starbucks locations and the staff here earned this location five stars. Starbucks has created a name for itself and has firmly established itself as a leader in the coffee industry. Personally, I do have more preferred coffee shops. However, the staff is truly incredible and deserve to be recognized for creating such an incredible experience. Five stars is well deserved by this team. read more

Not all Starbucks are created equal. This location is bit better than its local counterparts for a few reasons. First, they have a drive-through so if you are a lazy bum then this is your spot. Second, this location has a very nice outdoor patio area. This location can get rather busy and the parking lot makes it a little annoying to park, but really early in the morning the parking isn't such a big deal. The staff here is nice and they work fast, but often you will still wait. Inside you will find ample seating and some cool art. I am pretty sure the really tall palm trees photo is from Cocora Valley in Colombia. Even though it is pretty busy the wifi is strong and you can dig in and get some work done here. read more

We tried three treats. I liked the chocolate chip cookie a lot: 7-8/10. My wife gave it a 5. The chocolate croissant was nice, but I probably wouldn't get it again; a 6 from the wife. I'd rank the pumpkin cream muffin (or something like that) last, and my wife gave it a 3. Our server warmed them up for us, which probably made them better, especially the cookie, and gave us forks and knives too since we were eating in. Overall, it's nothing special for a treat compared to, e.g. Le Petit Paris. read more

This used to be my favorite location because the staff was attentive and were great about personalizing your visits. The seating is limited now... also a reason i wouldn't frequent any longer. Feels cramped and stuffy. Parking lot is a nightmare in the ams. My real complaint though is them 'losing' mobile orders and then making you wait in line again to make what you ordered 20 minutes ago on the app... and then the rudeness of some of the staff. It's like they remember grudges instead of your order? Wild times. I stopped mobile ordering here for this reason... the loooong drive through is quicker than an order ahead mobile order. I love this cool location! I love the bagged coffee to take home. I usually get the Cafe latte Grande with sugar free vanilla sweetener. I need to expand my horizons and try new and different coffees. Maybe some day soon. They have indoor seating and outdoor seating. Great employees that remember me when I come in. Have a very bad customer service. Rude people, just walk by you and say anything and rushing you to order. Spoke with manager, she did not even do anything. Like $4 is going to do anything for poor service. I been a a customer of Starbucks forever and never have a bad service like this and traveled cross country and never had a it like this. If their having a bad day, don't bring it work. A five star experience if it wasn't for the *rude?* barista that gave an attitude when I customized my drink while ordering AND when I came to pick it up. I get it, I'm a picky customer, but Starbucks has lots of those. It's 6 am and there's no line and no rush. There's absolutely no excuse. I love this Starbucks. I always go there to study, and it's one of the few nearby coffee shops that open early and close late. It's situated near businesses and can get pretty hectic when it's lunch hour. Sometimes you might not even find a seat, but there's outside seating for that. Personally, I prefer this location over all of the others in the Southside area. Starbucks is one of those places that I keep coming back to simply for the convenience of it and will probably forever continue to overlook the mediocrity of its products. When I am running late for work, (which let's face it, is every day) I want something quick and not requiring much effort (or even getting out of my car). The Deerwood location always has an employee outside taking orders before people even get into the drive-thru, which really helps speed up the line of cars that often snakes around and outside of the Starbucks parking lot. The sandwiches are not great, but at the same time, they definitely beat the offerings of my sad little cafeteria at work. After trial and error, I have come to realize that I need to stick to the double-smoked bacon croissant(wich) - yes, the bacon is rubbery and awkwardly stretchy (don't make eye contact with your co-workers as you eat it at your desk), but the croissant is delightfully crispy and heats up much better than a denser bread like ciabatta. Starbucks sandwiches are pre-made and then frozen so I have been a victim of biting into a frozen in the middle ham/egg ciabatta sandwich and have lived to tell the tale in this review - trust me, go with the croissant bun. Starbucks coffee is really nothing to write home about if you ask me and has a slight burnt taste regardless of how you take it, but it gets the job done. The berry hibiscus refreshers, on the other hand, are awesome and are a perfect lighter in caffeine afternoon treat. Also, I have the Starbucks app, which gives me free treats after I spend enough money here, which of course keeps me coming back. As Starbucks go this one is pretty cool. It isn't the best and to tell the truth 90% of the business I do with SBUX is through the drive through BUT there is actually a decent and relaxed work atmosphere here as well as ample outside seating. I would even say that this place has more outside seating than JR does inside. The attached drive through is a plus for this location- most of the time that is. In the mornings the cars are wrapped around the building and actually prevent egress from this location. The standard of Starbucks quality and consistency is very much the rule here. All in all , a great location, just be prepared for poor parking during your AM hours. My favorite thing to get here is the chai tea latte and the double smoked bacon sandwich. Do yourself a favor and pick one up , definitely delicious though probably horrible for you ..... read more

Starbucks is Starbucks. I've never had a problem at this location besides the fact that the drive-through line is long in the morning but that is going to happen literally anywhere. Can you really give five stars to an inarguably overpriced coffee chain that you can find on any corner? Probably not. But I guess it deserves four stars because I come here often, I like my coffee, they never mess up my order, and the Starbucks reward app constantly sends me notifications about star dash competitions and I can't help myself. If you ever have your dog with you ask for a puppacino, which is really just a cup of whipped cream but it's free with your order and your dog will love it! I'm trying to switch up how I review places so I'm going to add my favorite drink if anyone is ever interested in trying it: I call it a Super Dirty Chai- grande (hot) soy latte + an extra shot + 2 pumps of chai. It tastes obviously like a coffee latte with a strong hint of the chai spice because a regular chai latte with no coffee is way too sweet for me even though I love the flavor. read more

I love coffee. I love Starbucks. I love all the flavored drinks and the milk substitutions. But I think it needs to be known that this Gate parkway/Southside location is the crummiest location in Jacksonville. Anytime I've gotten a coffee drink, iced or hot, you know, a drink where you can actually taste the coffee, it has this weird flower or perfume taste to it. I even tasted this in my cinnamon iced coffee that I usually love to get. This didn't just happen one time, this has happened to my drinks every time that I've gone over a years time... So it was not a one time thing. I definitely believe in the company knowing or hearing of issues so that they can fix them, which is the only reason why am writing this review. Usually I hate to write bad reviews but it stinks that the Starbucks that is within walking distance from where I live is not drinkable. I love the town center one, so at least there is a Starbucks that is nearby that has great coffee. read more

Some mornings my Keurig doesn't cut it and I go into my local Starbuck's for an espresso beverage. This morning I ordered a venti breve caramel macchiato. Attending Starbuck's is pretty straightforward to me. I actually used to work for Starbuck's many years ago so I'm okay with the hustle and bustle. This chain has their spurt of busy moments. Sometimes I'm able to travel through the drive through other time I'm required to get out of my car and go inside. Today, I went into the store and there was no line! Great! My drink was prepared quickly and the barista was even engaging speaking to me about my rewards and potentially using them for lunch items. My drinks have always been spot on at this location. Today was a good experience though. Some other times I've waiting what seemed like forever for my beverage but today was a piece of pie. read more

I love stopping by this Starbuck because it is so close to work. When I can't make it into the store, the drive-thru allows me to get my morning fix. However, depending on when the time of the morning, the drive thru is packed making it hard to get in and out of the parking area. I have my best time at this location when I have the time to spend and enjoy a cup of coffee. The entirior is super comfy and has configurations to meet about everyones needs, from those needing to work our study, to those just wanting to hang out and enjoy a nice chat with friends. The only thing I miss, is that at the Starbuck which I frequented before (Towncenter), everyone new my name and had my drink ready.
