Been a long time customer of Sippers. I used to stop by multiple times a week when I lived across the street. Whether I was grabbing a morning coffee before work or an afternoon pick me up with a chicken salad croissant, it always hit the spot. It's the perfect place to get some work done or just relax with a cozy drink. I love that they are locally owned & even have a super convenient drive thru, which you don't always see with local shops. I visited Sippers Coffeehouse with the intention of trying a coffee flight since it's one of the only cafés in Jacksonville that offers them. The space itself feels like stepping into your mom's kitchen: cozy, homey, and decorated with cute vintage touches. Unfortunately, when I asked about ordering a flight, I was told I wouldn't be able to because I didn't call ahead. It was disappointing, especially since the café wasn't busy at the time and I was willing to wait if necessary. Another surprise was a sign stating a no laptop/working policy, which felt unusual for a coffee shop that offers Wi-Fi. I ended up grabbing a drink to go, but it was just okay. Not the best first experience, but I'd be open to coming back to give them another try and hopefully experience the coffee flight next time. read more

I absolutely love this place. It is nestled in such a cute part of Jacksonville. The iced lavender lattes are absolutely delicious and they give you so much. The lattes are strong with 2 to 3 espresso shots. The croissant sandwich is absolutely delicious and so filling, you could probably split it with someone. I have passed by this coffee shop so many times in a hurry to make it to the next appointment or work related thing. Leap year day, I stopped in! I brought my work laptop with me to stay for a little while, sip, eat, and work. Logging into the wifi here was very easy, and I picked a spot right by the window to work (nice views and lighting) I ordered a small London Fog tea which came with loose leaf tea (not a tea bag) steeped into my cute mug - this really makes all the difference. Thank you sippers for going the extra mile and choosing loose leaf tea. I also was able to substitute the whole milk for oat milk which was very nice. Let me get to this açaí bowl. I've eaten in the next plaza over at Juice Tap; had their açaí bowl over there, & liked it. Since this is a coffee shop first, I wasn't expecting the açaí bowl to be as superb as it really was (at only 8-9 dollars at that too) It was late lunch and I needed something in my tummy. The blend of açaí they make, the heart of what's in the bowl underneath all of the pretty toppings, was So good! Fresh! I had chunks in it (small fruit chunks) from it being freshly blended. The mixture was So creamy too but not overly creamy. They also drizzle the top with some honey which is my favorite part! I was allowed to substitute the blueberry toppings for extra strawberries instead and that really made my day. The fact that I was able to order an açaí bowl under ten bucks - wow! Super grateful for the very reasonable pricing here. But to then be blown away with the quality of this price friendly açaí bowl too - I was kicking myself for not stopping in here sooner, especially since I lived in a nearby apartment complex for 2 years right down the street. Sippers is now up there in my top 5 coffee shops of Jax to visit to either work, eat, sip, or grab something to go. Yall the music - I know that's a random thing to notice but since I was working in here for a couple of hours yesterday, lol, I noticed. First I think it was Christian music; after a couple songs, the main Star Wars theme song came on, followed by Michael buble, and then some smooth jazz or classical music. I was so entertained by the mix up. Star Wars had me cracking up though bc if you have ever listened to the whole thing, that one song goes on and on for an awkwardly long time - I was here for it. This shop stays steady! Goes to show just how many love it. I'm very happy to see this place thrive in such a good location too! The service here was very hospitable. You could tell I was a newbie and no one seemed to get annoyed with my questions on what to order. Parking can be kindive tricky since it's in a small strip with other businesses, but it's not too bad. Stopped by during the afternoon with a large group and were immediately greeted warmly by Mathew who was so excited to make our drinks. He was very patient as our entire group ordered and you could tell he thoughtfully prepared each drink despite the large number of them. The ambience of the shop as we waited was so homey and some of our group talked with Mathew as we watched him make our drinks. After trying our drinks, everyone agreed the coffee was great. Location-wise, it's in a little shopping strip, so there is plenty of parking. The outside patio offers shaded seating and small tables -perfect for one person, or a couple on a date. By comparison, the inside feels a bit cluttered and cramped. There is nowhere good to stand after ordering without feeling like you're in someone's way. There is also a sign by the entrance, letting you know there's a 1 hr seating max, and that bringing in laptops for working is not allowed. The person taking my order was very pleasant, and asked all the questions to make sure she got my order correct -which I appreciated. I ordered the seasonal hibiscus mocha "for here", so I could drink it out of a glass, and two gluten free cinnamon rolls "to go". My drink was called, but came out in a plastic cup, so when they told me it was mine, I said I'd ordered it for here. The lady passing it off, threw her hands up in the air, rolled her eyes and said "oh". I really hate drinking out of plastic, but at this point, wasn't really feeling like sticking around to drink it. But. The drink was still good. I asked the young girls in front of my daughter, and I could sit there, my daughter is seven and well-behaved., an older lady who was working back in the kitchen, kept staring out at us and felt the need to tell us that in the future, she is not allowed up there and that they don't allow kids up there because of the things that might break, she kept staring at us and seem to be very strict. The interior is small, yet the atmosphere is very comfy and hip. I ordered a vanilla cappuccino and it was simply delicious. Usually when I order a cappuccino, some places would either have too much milk/foam, or it would be too too bitter. Sippers coffee had the perfect balance between coffee and milk. I'm also not sure if this is a Christian establishment or not but there was a very odd playlist of 90s super religious music but then interspersed with things like the Jurassic park theme music? Sippers is better than Starbucks! Yes I said it. It is a quaint, cozy coffee shop with the nicest girls working there. They have large menu of many different coffees and teas. I ordered an iced London fog and my friend got a dirty chai. The London fog was a nice refreshing tea with a punch of caffeine which is exactly what I wanted. Per my friend, the dirty chai was AMAZING and better than Starbucks! They also have a small selection of pastries, and their chocolate croissant does not disappoint! They have a small amount of tables inside and out, a bar to sit at in front of a large window, and two cubbies in the back for a more secluded, quieter work area. The cubbies also have a long power strip shared between the two so you have plenty of plugs for laptops and chargers. What's even better? They have a drive thru! I did enjoy the flavor of the chai latte . But that cold bland muffin for $4 ? Don't order the muffin. Service was good except the coffee was up and the muffin took extra time which I didn't understand bc they only placed in on my plate from the fridge unless it was frozen and they thawed it out. Came for a coffee stop before the airport and four of us ordered lattes (3 flavored and 1 unflavored). Highly recommend to not get any syrup, because the flavors we got honestly kind of ruined the lattes. My friend got chocolate flavor and it tasted so weird and sweet and fruity as opposed to chocolatey, while the other two of us could barely finish ours due to the sweetness. Stopped in today for a late morning cup of coffee with some friends. The shop is small and feels cramped. There really isn't enough space for groups of more than 2, so our group of four had a hard time finding seating. They do have a room that encourages sitting and chatting but all the tables are for groups of three so that did not work for our group. Also you have to get permission to use the room which felt like a bit too much. I ordered a cup of black coffee and it took me close to five minutes to get my coffee out of the carafe next to the register bc they use the order system so I was behind the person in front of me who wanted a cinnamon roll and a latte. Coffee was weak but you can get it in a mug. My friends opted for a cappucino, a latte and a lemonade. Two of my friends got egg and cheese croissant sandwiches. The three as a group had no complaints. We ended up sitting outside after pulling some chairs from one table to another table. Staff was friendly and polite. Probably won't go back. read more
