First and foremost they get all the gold stars for having all gender bathrooms! The coffee was super hot and delicious. The music was vibing and the soft pretzel was delish. Southside for the win.

This peanut butter short stack is amazingly addictive! I wish I could say more on their other drinks but I just keep coming for this one! I haven't been inside the coffee shop, just drive thru but the staff are very friendly and patient. They have a great menu of coffee, teas, food. They make their own fresh biscuits that I need to try because who doesn't look a homemade biscuit!?

I am always looking for great coffee around me. I needed a quick pick me up and i found this coffee shop just 5 minutes from my house! The coffee here is amazing, very smooth and well made. They also have pastries that look to die for. The ambiance is very relaxed, great for studying or working.

Stopped in before an appt and had forgotten how much I enjoyed their coffee. This time I tried their classic sammie on a homemade biscuit completes with fried egg, bacon and cheddar. The biscuit was the star of the show and deliciously crumbly and delicate but not enough to fall apart. I ordered my go to lavender latte but they have lots or original creations to try. I love the brand and shop's funky style and vibe. This location has nice patio table seating, a drive thru and both large high top tables and small 2 person tables. When I visited there were quite a few people working on laptops so appears to be a nice spot to get work done.

In town for client meeting and ended up having to stay the night. Went on Tik Tok to find recommendations for coffee shop with good coffee and decent food. Brass Tacks was highly recommended and let me tell you it did NOT disappoint. Ordered the Sweet and Salty iced coffee and it was perfect! Great balance of expresso and milk with sweet/salty coming through. Also ordered the bacon, egg and cheese biscuit and wow!!! The biscuit was warm, moist and delicious. I highly recommend Brass Tacks. Everything was delicious, the staff was extremely kind and the service couldn't have been better. Highly recommended

Still amazing! The staff is awesome at Brass Tacks. They are friendly and quick. The ice latte is great, but they have so many cool flavors and drinks to try.

Hip, great for the young crowd. I ordered a blueberry muffin and classic Turkey egg and cheese biscuit. Tasty but too dry and crumbly for me. The muffin was sweet but just okay. The chai was delicious though. The crumb cake was dense and delicious.

Bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit. Best breakfast sandwich in Jacksonville.

Let's talk breakfast sandwiches real quick because I don't really like breakfast, in fact I normally skip the meal all together but the bacon egg and cheese biscuit at Brass Tacks is so good I would live exclusively off of them for a week! They are first come first serve so after a certain time every morning they seem to run out so wake up early to get there but I promise if you do you won't regret it. I occasionally work at an office near by and have now convinced everyone that comes in they need to try the biscuits and they all agree they are delicious! I their coffee and matcha are also delicious so I would also suggest picking up some caffeine with the biscuit sandwich! There is a drive thru and also plenty of room to sit inside or on the patio outside and enjoy your breakfast!

I am going to highly recommend that you get the peanut butter short stack! It is amazing. And I'm not really a cold coffee drinker. It's espresso and sugar over ice with peanut butter cold foam. I'm still thinking about it hours later. Friendly and fast service even though they were fairly busy. Clean and nicely done interior. Easy to park because it's in a shopping center. Would recommend and return.

After errands on a humid Jacksonville morning, we ducked into Brass Tacks Coffee on Southside Boulevard, hungry but not desperate. Two biscuit sandwiches, a couple of pastries, and something to drink seemed like the right call. The Rex and The Classic are essentially fraternal twins, each built on a scratch-made drop biscuit with egg and meat, turkey sausage in one case, bacon in the other. The difference is cheese, pimento on The Rex, cheddar on The Classic. The pimento has a little personality, the cheddar just does its job. Both were satisfying in flavor, but those biscuits... They crumble on contact, the sort of bread you hold with one hand while sweeping up shrapnel with the other. Fine for sitting in the café, but impossible for a commute. The crumb cake was inoffensive, the blueberry muffin less so, dry enough that the only bursts of flavor came from the berries themselves. The coffee was dark and straightforward, the iced chai latte sweet and cold, doing exactly what it promised. 3 out of 5 stars A place worth sitting down in, but maybe not worth taking to go.

From the several locations around Jacksonville, to the number of friends who have recommended Brass Tacks to us, when we finally gave the Southside location a try we were pleased with the results! There was a of seating and drink options, and the whole coffee vibe was both very relaxed, but also upbeat. There was a good mix of people coming in and out, some socially hanging around, while others were working. And everyone seemed to also be enjoying their coffee. We'll have to try out some of the other locations, but I imagine they're all similar - offering a wide range of drink options, which taste great!

The Churro (white chocolate, caramel, cinnamon) with oat milk, iced. So delicious.

This is my daughter's fave coffee place and, of course, was the first place she took me to when I visited. It was SO BUSY for first thing on a Sunday morning! The drive-thru line reached into and around and through the parking lot. Luckily it moved fast and we ordered and received our coffees quickly. The young lady at the window was friendly and polite. I had one of their specialties, The Churro, iced, and it was so delicious with a nice kick of caffeine. It was so good that by the time I finished. I wanted another. Hah! I highly recommend coming here, don't let how busy they are deter you. It's worth it!

    Kathryn T.

I've enjoyed all of the lattes I've tried so far at Brass Tacks. But what really keeps me coming back is their scratch-made biscuits- they are delicious! I've not used the drive thru yet but it is always doing brisk business when I've been inside enjoying my coffee and biscuits.

Best biscuits in town, bar none. I wish they didn't run out so often. The coffee is good too, but skip the pastry case.

Visited on a bustling Saturday morning and easily found parking. Having visited before, I'm happy to share they've remained consistent -- clean, inviting, and always backed by friendly, attentive service. Selection: Apple Cinnamon Chai Dirty (12oz, Hot with Oat Milk) -- a beautifully balanced drink where warm cinnamon and crisp apple flavors mingle with spiced chai and a smooth espresso shot. The oat milk rounds it all out for a cozy, fall-worthy cup. Though their limited store hours may be a small drawback, it's quickly overshadowed by their strong focus on quality -- in both their coffee and food offerings -- and their genuine connection with the community. A solid staple in the JAX coffee scene. MUST-TRY & REPEAT!!! .5 of 5 (4.5 of 5)

We were immediately impressed when we went in; lots of dark wood and a long bar with shelves and shelves of spirits. There were mostly bourbons and whiskeys. They even had a rolling ladder so bartenders could reach top-shelf bottles. We had about a 10 minute wait for a table on a Saturday for lunch. The time went by quickly and we were seated at a small wooden table. Our server, Erin, approached us quickly and took our drink orders. I ordered a Blue Moon and my husband had the WC Old-Fashioned. It was made with Evan Williams 1783 Bourbon and he said it was quite good. ($13). For food; I had the Rooster Royale which was a fried chicken sandwich with pickles and hot honey BBQ sauce. It was $16.50, and one of the best chicken sandwiches I've ever had! Even the bun was delicious! I'd planned on only eating half; but I ended up eating it all because it was so good. I also had the homemade chips which were yummy too. My husband had the Reuben which was $19. He said it was really tasty and full of meat. He commented that it didn't get "mushy" or fall apart. He had the crispy potatoes as his side and he raved about those too. We really enjoyed our meal at Whiskey Cake and would definitely return. The only drawback I can think of is that they don't seem to have very many healthy lo-cal options.
