For the most part, Starbucks is great, though the inconsistency shows in their drinks. I've never been a huge fan of automatic espresso machines and inconsistency from one drink to the next is the primary reason. Either the shots are poured too weak, as if poured over spent grounds, or too strong which results in extremely bitter espresso. The machines Starbucks use either need major calibration (multiple times a day), or they need to hire more experienced baristas that can consistently deliver, during high or low volume, and drop the automatic machines. It'd be better to spend more training dollars teaching people to do it by hand and do it right instead of training them how to press a button and pour milk into a frothing pitcher and then sit it down (which I see them do almost every time I visit). Starbucks is supposed to be the crown jewel when it comes to coffee, though with the consistent inconsistencies, they do make it easier to look to their competition (i.e. Caribou Coffee & McDonalds -- Unfortunately, there's not a Caribou Coffee in Johnson City, TN). read more

Good drinks and service. They are quick to develop specialty drinks for me if I ask, and have helped educate me along the way. However, food is overpriced with a microwaved texture to it. Lobby is a typical Starbucks lobby. read more

Not just white girls like Starbucks, it's a terrific spot for the whole world! The lines are long but the wait will always be worth it. I recommend the hazelnut vanilla latte. read more

Slow wait time and poor customer service! I've been to Starbucks all over the country and this by far has the worst and most inept customer service I've experienced. Go if you want to spend 1 or more hours in the "drive through" or spend a longer time inside watching the "baristas" wait for the next car drive up and not attend to the a 20-person + line inside! read more

I love this Starbucks and it is usually such a great place to meet up with friends but Sunday morning is not the time to go! We waited over 35 minutes for our drinks. While I understand it was busy, even a recognition of the long wait time with an apology would have been nice. The drinks were good as always but the long wait and lack of acknowledgment by the staff made it an unpleasant experience. read more

Starbucks in Johnson City , TN is located on Roan Street in north Johnson City. The parking lot is easy to miss and once you get into the parking lot finding a place in the morning hours can be a challenge. The service is excellent. The coffee was the typical Starbucks. The inside of this Starbucks is one of the largest we have ever been in. It was well maintained. read more

iced chai tea latte please! i love that this place has lots of seating outside to enjoy the lovely weather. there's lots of seating indoors as well. all in all pretty standard starbucks. there's also a drive-thru window so if you're jonesing for a caffeine fix you don't even have to get out of the car. apparently theres wifi too. =) read more

Great drinks but I have virtually stopped going here for two reasons: The store is kept at a temperature so low you could wear a winter coat and still be freezing. I never order frozen drinks for this reason. You can't even talk to the people you came with without having to talk over the screaming staff. I've been in larger Starbucks before, much larger...loudest staff I've ever seen. Complaints on both fall on deaf ears. They could care less. read more

I really enjoy everything about this location. Most of the staff know my face and or my voice. It feels awesome to come to a location that makes you feel special. I do not all the clients/ customers but I have started knowing their face and that makes it a warmer. The atmosphere is really good. read more

The most unkind and slowest Starbucks I've EVER been to, and I've been to a lot. We waited in the drive-thru for 20 minutes with 5-6 cars for 1 drink. While I thought this was much longer compared to others, I still wasn't mad, just a bit irritated. When I paid, I expected them to do like other stores before that have had some longer waits and apologize and possibly offer a free beverage. I received neither. Once my drink was handed over, I calmly and kindly said, " for what it's worth, this was the longest at a Starbucks that I've ever had to wait for a coffee." The baristas response is what blew me away. He said, and I quote, "Oh really? (sarcastically spoken.) I responded, "Yes." And he said, "Make better choices." I proceeded to drive off choosing not to give him satisfaction. But I will choose in the future to heed his advice and NOT return to his store. To make it even better I think he was the manager, because as I waited for my drink I saw him telling the baristas when to take breaks and writing the schedule out. I have to say, I love Starbucks!! They are pricey!!They make my venti iced cafe mocha non fat milk no whip with extra shot of expresso,, right every time!! Yes service is slow and I spend 10-20 min in the drive thru getting my coffee every time in the morning, but honestly I would rather wait for something I know they r taking the time to do it right rather than go thru another drive thru and they throw it out the window in a min thrown together and every time the coffee comes out different, most of the time nothing like you wanted! read more
