Two words: DRIVE THRU!!! 9 out of 10 times, I utilize their drive thru rather than walking in because I'm grabbing a coffee on the way to work at 6am. There has never been a time that the baristas have been rude or not friendly. I always get the correct drink and sometimes a bigger size ;) in a timely manner. I went in yesterday for a meeting with someone, ordered and got my drink within 1 minute. If that's not excellence, idk what is! Bathrooms were nice and clean and so were the lounge space. Worst Starbucks I've ever been to. The motto of this location should be "oh, I'm sorry we're out of that". It's a running joke now every time I go to this location. I should start recording it each time and auto tune it on YouTube, it would make a great rap.... How hard is it to not run out of half your menu items by 11am? Today it was no sandwiches left, so I asked for a protein bistro box, again no more left... If it wasn't for the drive-through I'd never return. starbucks is starbucks. and this one is not much different here than any other starbucks in hawaii. as mentioned earlier, the couches inside are pretty comfortable. they also have a few outlets for your laptop if you need one, and offer free WiFi. the location is good if youre heading back from campbell or out in kapolei shopping at costco or home depot. its also near the new shopping center in kapolei (target/petco/etc). there is a starbucks inside target, but they dont offer Thai and a few other drinks, so i refuse to go there. read more

Several times now, my drink order has been repeated back to me correctly over the speaker, and then I've either watched them make the drink wrong from.the drive thru window, or have received it incorrect. I follow a keto diet and occasionally splurge for Starbucks if and when it fits my macros, but I still have to be careful. My order is not complicated - a Venti Iced Americano with Sugar Free Cinnamon Dolce and Heavy Whipping Cream. I come so infrequently that when it's wrong back to back to back, I have to wonder if it's not just me and if the barista's just don't know how to pay attention. One time I ordered it, the label even said heavy cream and I literally watched the girl pour half & half into my drink. This time, my drink was repeated back to me with sugar free Cinnamon Dolce, I said yes, and then wind up with a drink with label for full sugar Cinnamon Dolce syrup instead. I understand eating out when you have strict diet habits comes with a risk...but come on. i'm not sure what the disconnect is here. read more

I'm on a roll with Starbucks reviews today. This is the third. Now, this used to be one of my favorite locations but there's limited seating (more limited than other stbx) and people are always hogging the outlets practically the entire day long. This is the starbucks that first made me wish there was a limit to how long you can sit. I think that people should have to buy something every hour and if they don't they can get the hec moving. Me? I'm okay with that because I always refill my drinks and keep buying food, but there are people who seriously take advantage of Starbucks, buy one thing and sit for the entire day. This one time, this guy practically made home. He kept up and leaving his seat and left all his things there, his tablet, clothes, bags... he would completely leave the store. Idk where the hec he went but he'd be gone for at least 20 minutes at a time. He had the nerve to ask me to watch his stuff for him. Now, the staff here is awesome... mostly. There was this one guy who was super awesome enough to let me charge my phone (it was an emergency because it was dead and I was supposed to be meeting someone) in one of their outlets behind the counter. This one haole guy though.... I haven't seem him there in a LONG time... every time he took someone's order he made it seem like he was hitting on the girl, even me. I did not appreciate that. What he would do is be incredibly friendly and somewhat charming/flirtatious while taking the order and then he'd ask "So... what's your name?" and exactly in the way where it sounds like a guy is genuinely asking for your name because he wants to know. I answered... and then he wrote it on the cup and said thanks. Ugh. Trust me, there is a genuine difference in intonation when you're asking someone "can I get your name?" for a starbucks cup and when you're genuinely asking cause you're interested in what their name is. This guy did the latter to every girl in line that day. I felt so embarrassed at having thought he was actually asking for my name. I don't know how many girls he humiliated in that manner and maybe he was just turning on the charm because he's naturally flirtatious but finding out in the end he wasn't actually flirting with you is a major embarrassment, especially when you answer with your name all smitten-like. Seriously don't appreciate that barista and this location has left a bad taste in my mouth ever since. If it weren't for that guy and the outlet-hogs, I would rate this location a lot higher. read more

Today I decided to go to this location because of their drive thru! Total fail! I drove up to the drive thru line and it was so long that I decided to reverse out of the drive thru line and walked in. I walked in and was greeted immediately with a smile and a "GOOD MORNING!" Outstanding customer service I must say! I'd say this location is one of the better ones because it's not that crowded every time I've walked in to order. I ordered my hot Americano and a cranberry scone which is to die for! My wait for my coffee was faster than the amount of time I would've waited in the drive thru line! I enjoy me some Starbucks =) I love that this is a drive-through location. It makes it easier to get my coffee fix when I'm running errands and don't want to get my kids out of the car. My favorite drinks are the Frappuccinos, and I like how they're always coming up with new flavors. This week they have a Happy Hour special from 3-5pm for 1/2 off Frappuccinos. I went there today hoping to try the new Smores flavor... but they ran out already! I think it's only been around for a week or less, so you'd think they would be well stocked - especially since the Happy Hour promotion. That's the only reason I gave 4 stars and not 5. I like their drive thru. Even if it's busy I still use it. They have awesome customer service even when they are busy. Today the drive-thru was not busy, so I opted that route. When I placed my order the associate was so pleasant when coming on. She didn't sound irritated or bothered. When I got to the window I had to wait a little, which I expected because there was no one in front of me, Ashee (hope I spelled it right) greeted me, apologized for the wait, wished me a belated Mother's Day and made small talk, then when my drink was ready she thanked me for my business and wished me a good day. I'm pretty happy with this starbucks. I usually get the same drink (Strawberry Black Tea-sweetened) and there are just some places that make it super junk!! BUT! I'm glad that this starbucks makes it yummy. I know it depends on the person making it but cmon now, you follow a recipe card no?? Their pastries are good, and it doesn't look like it gets too crowded like some other locations. Workers are nice. 204/365 Me and my friend came here because we wanted to work on my project but upon entering after 2pm all the inside tables were taken up. The place is really small and it definitely had space for a few more tables here and there. There were only a few people too. They do have outside seating with umbrellas so that was nice but it was a bit farther away from the store itself. Instead of being right outside the door. It is nice that they do have a drive thru so thats convenient. Overall, i've had a couple drinks here in the past and they're all the same but it definitely is not accommodating for large groups of people who want to study or just take a coffee break. read more

This is a great Starbucks and drive thru. I haven't gone in a lot. Sadly I admit that truth still the drive thru service is always so fast. Don't let the long line I drive thru discourage you. I have never waited longer that 15min for and order. Even with the line into the parking lot. My drink and pasty is always there waiting when I get to the window. That in itself is five star worth. Every time I come to this location I am greeted by very friendly employees that display excellent customer service. Anything I order always tastes great. The drive thru is really convenient and it moves pretty fast and even on days when it's packed (pretty rare in my experience) the line moves at a steady and efficient pace given the circumstances. I have always left this Starbucks smiling, not only because the drink or snack I ordered tastes great, but because the staff is really kind and makes me feel really welcome. Busy locations results in poor quality. The staff are so frantic to get the drive thru, mobile orders, and store customers drinks done that the attention to detail for making the drinks correctly goes out the window. My pumpkin cream cold brew has a layer or orange syrup on the bottom and they didn't even bother adding the foam (which is the best part) I also ordered a BLACK cold brew but it came with something chemical sweet and was undrinkable. We dumped it out immediately as we pulled away. The sticker said Tl CB for 'tall' and I think they squirted toasted something nasty in there. read more

Very friendly service. Right when I got out of my car the girl taking out the trash greeted me, which was very unexpected! Then we walked in at 9:55 thinking that they closed at 11. I ordered and while I was waiting for my order, the same girl announced that they'd be closing in 5 minutes to the people sitting down. That's when I found out that they had new hours and would actually be closing an hour earlier everyday. But I'm very impressed that she didn't deny me service even though they were gonna close in 5 minutes. I had been a loyal Starbucks at this location for a little over a year. Monday to Friday I'd get pretty much the same coffee and scone at the same time of day, on really sleep deprived days sometimes even twice per day. I know Starbucks is all big time, they have a gazillion customers everyday, but it bugged me so bad to have them not remember my name, I gave up spelling it (who cares anyway), mess up my totally simple off the menu no changes order, not getting the right food, asking for it warmed and its still cold inside. I would see the same customers everyday too and they remembered their names. I pay with cash and always tip. I had no idea about the Starbucks giftcard rewards thing, another thing that bugged me. How come nobody mentioned this?!?!?!? Here i am in your store daily and you're not going to tell me about a rewards program?!? Bitter. Lastly, the pastries have gone down hill. I have ordered a lemon loaf or pound cake and it would be hard and stale on one side, what are you supposed to do, eat around that? Instead of walking across the road to this Starbucks I am now going a few miles to Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf where they give me fresh food, haven't screwed my order up 4 times in a row, told me immediately about their loyalty program and remember my name after 3 visits. 5 STARS FOR THE TEAM ON VALENTINE'S DAY AT AROUND 9PM!! They were just awesome. Here's why: So, I asked for my regular venti hot chai latte... it was perfect. I also asked for a grande WARMED milk, specifically for my one year old. Their team was on it and made sure that the temperature was just right for my baby. They told us that they were gonna check it on their wrist to see if it was too hot or too cold (parents you know the routine). Anyways, they warmed it up to a 90 degree temperature because their team came to an agreement that it was probably the right temperature for it. THEY WERE RIGHT. The milk was at a perfect temperature. They actually took the initiative to make a perfect warmed milk for a baby. This crew is so awesome! Thank you Starbucks Kapolei Crew! Keep it up. The reason why I kept coming back to this Starbucks was most def. customer service. I was always greeted with a smile and loud Aloha! well not always, this IS Starbucks and can get pretty crazy with customers who have not gotten their morning coffee. I came back so often, that of course they started to remember my order and my name. I never really got any problems with my order. I usually go here during the night time, it is more peaceful and less people. I truly enjoy this place because it is not only a cafe but also a Drive-Thru! one of the few on this island too. I enjoy the fact that if I do try something new on their menu or just something new in general from my usual order, that they give their two cents of their favorite way to order their cup of happiness. Minus one star, only because sometimes they are out of stock on certain foods, but it makes sense if throughout the day many customers arrive into the cafe or drive-thru items can be sold out quicker. read more

I'm so disappointed. I usually come to this Starbucks if I'm in the area of Kapolei running errands. It's especially convenient that there is a drive thru. Customer service is great! The barista's are always exceptionally friendly. I'm giving this review 2 stars because on this particular occasion, I ordered two frapps & a venti water. The water itself had no ice. I don't know what their policy is, but at any other location my water always comes with ice. Initially I was like "aw, this sucks," but the water was still cold, so no biggie. The deal breaker was finding out that the frappuccino's were completely liquid. It was obviously over blended. I tried & liked the new Chestnut Praline frapp, but definitely would've enjoyed it more if it were properly blended. My friend's Java Chip was just the same. It's just a real bummer having to pay for a $5 & have it be of low quality. I mean, c'mon.. frapps melt and will become in that liquid state on it's own. When I first get my drink, I want to enjoy it & I at least expect to be getting my money's worth. When I return here, i'll just stick to getting drinks that aren't frappuccino's. They never get my order right, something is always off. Lately, I've been getting the cacarra cold foam cold brew, and the cold foam is liquid, not even kind of creamy, they never put the sugar crystals on top, and it doesn't taste good. Every other location I go to does it perfect every time, but never this one. I don't enjoy the coffee and am mad that I paid $5 for something that isn't what I ordered. Starbucks is Starbucks is Starbucks. Let's get that out of the way here. I mean, let's not get things confused, this isn't the latest hipster bar, or gastropub or even restaurant that features bacon in unusual combinations. This. Is. Starbucks. You know what you're getting and what you're getting is relatively the same, regardless of the location. So, I won't waste much time talking about the drinks. What I will talk about are the intangibles about this particular location. First off, it's got a drive thru, which is really convenient and it's a shame that there aren't more of these around. To make sure that my review covered all the bases, I did two trips to this location: one inside, and one through the drive thru. INSIDE: The lobby is small. I'll agree with what someone else mentioned in the reviews that this place isn't really accommodating to large groups. Other Starbucks (Mililani, Ward, Waikele, Kunia) seem to have a lot more space, thus would be better options for a larger study group, church group, or other large gathering. The service inside is above average, with the baristas quite chatty and helpful with your order. I happened upon a free drink coupon from my frequent Starbucks card usage and the barista suggested several things to add to the drink. He even went as far as saying "Hey, it's all free, might as well get everything." Sound advice, but definitely doesn't bode well for the flavor (or the calorie-content) of the drink. I opted for a Mocha Cookie Crumble Frappuchino with Mocha Walls (I didn't even know that EXISTED). Delicious, but definitely had to run it off later. The tables are on the small side and there's a lack of electrical outlets in the building. I understand they don't want to encourage squatting, but to almost eliminate the comfort level of being inside? Not good. So, with the frustrating situation inside, I took it outside. Thankfully, it was a nice Kapolei afternoon out, with the sun setting over the distant mountain range. Outside seemed to be a better bet, as the breeze kept you cool and the chairs and tables don't feel like they're gonna fall apart any time soon. Put an electrical socket out there and you'd have me there all day. Thankfully, the charge running low on my iPad put a halt to that and ended that visit. DRIVE-THRU: One of the oddities of getting drive thru coffee is that there's no real interaction between you and the barista. As a former barista myself, I usually used the face to face interaction to generate some small talk and get a laugh or two out of the customer. You don't seem to get that in the drive thru. In, out, coffee, drive off. I know that will work for some people, but I actually like the interaction with the barista, no matter how small it is. Outside of the moral issues, the interaction was smooth, clean, and without fault. The coffee tastes the same (of course), but it didn't FEEL the same... if that makes any sense at all. So, I'm giving this place a 3.25/5. The baristas and service is nice, fast, and efficient. But, as a Starbucks, it seems like this one was added just to have another presence in the city. The inside is small, cramped, and unwelcoming. The outside tables are quite nice, if a little distant from the actual location. And the drive thru is all sorts of transaction and no personality. I always go here after work to read my favorite book. Well, the prices are all the same for all starbucks places. i guess it all comes down to the interior of the cafe. they recently changed out all the furnitures inside. while it became spacious, it looked a little less comfortable now that the couches were all gone. But it looked cleaner than when the couches were still there. i like studying here sometimes too, when libraries are closed. charge your laptops though, if you plan on bringing them. wall outlets are limited. bonus from this starbucks branch -- drive-thru, for people who don't want to stick around. nonetheless, i gave it a 4/5. read more

Although I love Starbucks, I'm not too fond of this particular location. The boyfriend and I ran some errands last night and decided to grab some coffee on the way home. The drive-thru was empty so we figured it would be quick. We were wrong. Our 2 drinks took FOREVER and a day. On another occasion my sister brought me my favorite mocha coconut frap from this Starbucks only for me to take a sip and choke. My drink was drowning in coconut flakes! Every sip felt as if I were chewing coconut flakes more than drinking. Disappointed, I'll just stick with the other Starbucks in Kapolei. read more
