The staff often seem unorganized and not particularly happy to be there, which makes the whole experience feel unwelcoming. This is one of the few Starbucks on a road trip from Fresno to the coast. It's Christmas season so I decided to try the Gingerbread Oatmilk Latte and an egg and bacon sandwich with Gouda. The gingerbread oat milk latte was underwhelming. It barely had a hint of gingerbread to it. I feel like I was tasting mostly oat milk. Not a fan. I probably should have told the baristas I didn't like my drink. But I hate to be the person that complains to them to remake it or add more gingerbread sauce. I just walked away dissatisfied. 10 months ago (11/2022) we the whole package: Great customer service, great drinks, and restroom in good order at a commuter. I cannot say the same for today's visit. I ordered a Java Chip with no whip, I can't have have whip. Make it with Oatmilk, and add a caramel drizzle. It came with whip, so the manager took the cup, tossed the lid, scooped out the whip, and drizzled it again. Not sure how any of that saves me from the lactose I was avoiding in the first place. And THEN she contested it by saying, "YEAH, it said light whip." Who's right, the cashier who'd rather be gnawing on a bone, or the customer?! Also, my wife ordered a Venti Americano and received a grande. The cashier, who would rather be doing anything else also doubled our order, and we had to stop her to ask why it was over $22 for 2 drinks and egg bites. This experience was the polar opposite of the experience at the end of last year. Worth noting, when we first entered with other people, we noticed that they said something, and then laughed at a customer's expense. Without knowing the context, I assumed better of them. But after the incapability of these two employees, the Store Manager needs to correct this before the name Starbucks means nothing for this commuter town. read more

Awful Waiting time was unreal. Customers in front of us, still waiting, while others in the middle received their drinks. Many people behind counter, but only one appears to be making drinks. Hope the quality of the drink is worth it. Well we ordered Frappuccinos, they were really liquidy and way too sweet. Looked like the kid was training with little supervision. What's up: We were charging up at the nearby Supercharger and wanted to grab a drink to cool off. After doing a quick search, we saw there was a Starbucks nearby and decided to grab some. Parking: They have a small lot up front and some additional parking towards the back. It's shared with the nearby Mobile gas station. If need be, there are additional parking spots further away if you don't mind some walking. Another option would be to take advantage of their drive-thru. Environment: The interior was nicely cool and well lit. You'll walk into the indoor seating area first and you'll find the order counter towards the left. The pick up area is at the far end of the order counter. Restrooms are located further back. What was ordered: - Iced Matcha Tea Latte (a nice and cool drink with yummy matcha) Yay/Nay/Meh: Yay. The place was bright and clean. The drinks were good. And most importantly, the AC was working well in the heat. Credit cards are accepted. read more

I went this morning and there were three workers at 5:58 am when it says that they open at 5:30 am. Rolled up to the drive thru where you order, no answer, waited a little then went up to the window and knocked and a worker made eye contact with me, while the other two can clearly see me in their peripheral. They completely ignored me. This is a usual starbucks i stop at on route to work so it was disappointing. I absolutely love My Starbucks breaks. But the reason I'm only giving three stars to this location is the fact that their bathroom needs some serious attending to. Both stalls were rather filthy with garbage all around them. And when I went to wash my hands, there was paper towel debris all over the sink. Nevertheless, I continue to come to Starbucks for their consistency of delicious beverages. The bathroom was tiny -- just two stalls -- but pretty clean so that's always a win on a road trip. They have a drive-thru but it's quicker to park and order inside. So Santa Cruz apparently just has drive through Starbucks but they close the store front. First one we went to would only let you pick up your mobile order in the drive thru, so I I was slightly confused as I placed my mobile order but saw that you could pick up at the door. It was closed but you had to call them to let them know you were there and then wait. I called and stood outside for maybe 5 minutes before someone came out with my drinks. Not really the best starbucks. The workers weren't very polite or welcoming. The barista that took my order couldn't even smile. Ordered the extra hot nonfat sugar free vanilla latte. A nice stop here for me and my hubby had a short break after a long journey. We can see that the line for drive through quite long. We went inside the Starbucks since we need bathroom break and drink. And the cafe shop was busy but the line for ordering wasn't take too long. Just only the wait for drink to be ready was took a little while maybe 15 minutes. But we're fine with it. I ordered Grante frappucino for strawberry creme with add on banana. The barista kind nice, she customize what I want because I was ordering strawberry banana, but that drink not under happy hour. So she suggested me go for strawberry creme with add on banana. It's really a good drink. The staff here kind responsible, she knew many people using bathroom especially ladies, so she went inside cleaned up and restock extra toilet paper and seat cover. I was feeling kind of adventurous today and I tried the new pistachio latte. I was not super impressed. It was too sweet. I later heard the cashier warn someone else that it is a sweet drink but I did not get that same warning. I wish I would have been warned too. Other than that, it's a nice little Starbucks, it has plenty of tables to sit at and the restrooms don't have a code so it is easy to stop by if you need to on a long drive! This place was rocking when we arrived. It was the middle of the day on a Wednesday of the Christmas Week, but I was convinced that based on its location, it was probably busy every minute that it's open. It is a simple affair, narrow, not a lot of frills, and one that does not necessarily invite you to linger. It's just too busy.... The staff was efficient, but it was too busy to be overly friendly. I was able to park, order from my app, go inside and get my coffee, while my wife was still in line to order. The bathrooms are clean and there used to be indoor seating (before COVID). The drinks are the same as any Starbucks I've visited. In terms of service, I dropped by here at 6pm on a Saturday a couple of weeks ago and it wasn't busy. There were only 3 customers including myself. This is one of the more busy locations I've been to, not the fastest, but their drive through can go much faster and is worth going through if there's no line. I stop by here when I need a pick me up between driving from LA to Oakland. They are very happy here and they mean well, but the patrons that you get here are a mix of tourists, all out of towners, millenials, and coffee snobs so you HAVE to be patient if there's a line because though every starbucks has the same standard drinks, once some of the above make it to the cashier they look at the board if they've never been to an SB before. Avoid the holiday stop here, not worth it. But (like Ric H says) you will always have a positive cashier. read more

Located to the right of Mobil gas station and can be hard to see coming off the 5. Pretty small location but it's a "real" Starbucks. The staff was friendly and they serve all the breakfast sandwiches here. The soy frap we ordered took a bit longer because they had to wash the plastic blender cup labeled "soy" to prevent cross-contamination. The bathrooms weren't the cleanest but decent.
