I walked into the store and held the door for a Caucasian man who walked in behind me. I walked up to the counter, the Caucasian man walked behind me and we stood there waiting for about 5 minutes before worker named: JUSTIN walked to the front and immediately addressed the man first asking how he could help him. I stood there in disbelief. Luckily the Caucasian man said "she was here first" and Justin looked over at me as if I was a ghost and said "oh have your ordered". I told him no and placed my order. My favorite local Starbucks, located at the end of my street. This is time I came in at 3:00 on a Monday, and there was plenty of parking and no line. If I were there to work it would've been quiet and plenty of sunlight coming in from the windows. I tried the caramel cloud macchiato which was AMAZING! I get an extra shot most of my drinks I order because I LOVE it. Service was nice at the register to picking up my drink from the barista. I've not had a bad experience here. So why the two stars? I meet my ex husband here on days I get custody of my kids. There has been COUNTLESS times the opener doesn't show up. I've even checked the hours to make sure they open at 5:30 and not 6. It's definitely 5:30, however, 9 times out of ten, I'm waiting in the drive thru at 5:45 and no one is there yet. I'm really surprised more people haven't complained or that they have changed the staff to someone more reliable to open. I drove around the building to park to meet my ex and I saw an employee in the building. If you open at 5:30, you need to be READY at 5:30. Not still doing tasks to open. This place is a health code violation! One of the Baristas was using tongs used for grabbing food to smush the trash down! Another sneezed into her shirt and then continued throughout her preparations. The I pointed this out to cashier who told me his hands were clean after handling money and pointed out the issues who processed to make the food I ordered without washing his hands. Starbucks coffee isn't the best. But it's convenient, with a zillion locations, and fast drive-thru service. So, when I need a quick coffee fix, this is the Starbucks that I frequent most. Even when the drive-thru lane looks long, it moves quickly. The employees are always incredibly friendly and helpful. They never bat an eye if you place an unusual order. Staff isn't friendly and take forever to take your order in the drive-thru. They have repeatedly gotten my order wrong and even charged me extra this last time for a tall mocha cookie crumble frap. They charged me almost $8!! They didn't put any of the cookies in it and didn't add caramel, like I requested. This location had a long drive thru line so my husband went inside to order while our dog & I waited in the car. He came back out pretty quickly and said the "guy at the counter was incredible, he was the best Starbucks guy ever!" My hubby is a big Starbucks customer and I knew this was a serious compliment! I prefer local coffee shops, but on occasions I meet friends for a hit of caffeine and some nice conversation. This on is hit or miss in my opinion. Not all Starbucks are created equal. I've been to Starbucks all over this country, including the original in Seattle and service and product availability varies from location to location. Despite living close to this location for almost a year I had yet to be inside this store until this morning. I met a friend for a meeting this morning around 9AM. I walked in and it was quite busy as most locations are around this time. I set my iPad down and got in line while waiting for my friend to arrive. The baristas had the line moving quickly, almost too quickly. It was great. I put in my order, grabbed a seat and waited for my name to be called. They had good coffee and a very friendly staff but on the weekend their was a coffee nazi and she was extremely unpleasant. This is my favourite Starbucks location in town, and sometimes I'll hold off my Starbucks stop until I know I'll be on Richmond Rd. The interior is a bit on the smaller side. It's cozy, but if you're looking to go in and hang out, it's best to avoid peak hours. The drinks are always made perfectly. What really shines though is the staff. I've never had a disinterested or unfriendly staff member while there. During the tornado warnings last spring, I holed up in Starbucks for several hours - they were all friendly and even gave a couple free drinks to me and another visitor since they were training a new barista. I've had a couple people remember me when I go in, but everyone is always friendly. Top-notch for customer service. read more

I recently went to this particular Starbucks in search of one the Molten Lava specialty drinks. It was being offered for a very limited time (February 11 thru February 14). I went on the 12th. After waiting over 5 minutes in the drive-thru line I requested one of the molten lava drinks. I was told that they couldn't make that particular drink so I requested one of the other molten lava drinks. I was the told that they could not make any of the molten lava drinks and was there something else they could make for me. I responded "no, nothing for me today". The guy then said "ok, see you at the window!" Seriously? I didn't order anything so why would I waste any more time there? Said employee needs to use some common sense. A better response would have been "sorry for the inconvenience; if you would pull around the window I would be happy to give you a voucher for free drink".
