Wow, never seen such a rude Starbucks employee like today with such a poor attitude from the second we walked in. Stacie needs some service training (and smile training) as well as an attitude adjustment. She literally threw our baked goods on the counter because we were going to cancel the order and she said it was already in the oven. It wasn't, we opened the actual package that it came in when we got to our car. The beautiful bright spark in this store was Hoku, her smile radiated, she was happy, with a great customer service, and her amazing lattes were both ready immediately, before Stacie and the other lady could get the baked items in a bag. We give it an overall 3 because of Hoku - she was a 5 stars employee and Stacie and the other was a ZERO. The lattes were good so Hoku saved the day. I saw negative reviews of this location and was skeptical but had an incredible experience. My husband and I were up early for a hike and were looking for somewhere that opened before 6am. There weren't a lot of options but this Starbucks was! I tried mobile ordering and for some reason the app kept saying they were out of all their milk options. I went in person and they were super helpful and had my drink ready crazy quick (it wasn't that busy at that time). Highly recommend! read more

This is by far is thee slowest and least attentive Starbucks I have ever been to. There is a lack of urgency and communication with guests waiting for orders. Though the girl taking orders was apologetic, the other workers seemed to be unaware or unaffected by the backlog of patrons patiently waiting for their orders to be filled. We had a pretty simple order of 2 iced Americanos and 2 items for the pastry menu. An a Americano if a simple order of shots of espresso, ice and water. Our order was input to the system at 7:07am. We did not receive our drinks until 7:40am. I have been to numerous Starbucks in the state of Hawaii, Continental USA, Japan, Thailand & Philippines. I have not at any given visit waited longer than 10-15 minutes for an in cafe order. During our wait we witnessed at least 2 people cancel their order and one ended up changing her order to a regular coffee. When at last I heard my name called, I went to pick up my drinks from the counter I kindly said, " I don't know if you're aware, but it has been 30 minutes to get my drinks." The reply was, "oh yeah we know." I said, "shots , water and ice. Not hard to make." All that to say, I believe that there could be some small shifts to make the wait time better and overall good experience for all. Excellence does NOT just happen, so please reevaluate the system as to how this location can do better. 30 minutes is a long time to wait for any drink at any establishment. Mahalo read more

And they take FOREVER to make a drink. I have my coffee dialed in on ordering 15 min before I arrive thru the app. The app says it'll be done within 12 min. But I get there and have to wait another 5min. And they are NOT busy, maybe 3 people in line. So clearly this "team" needs training. We had some time to kill before our tubing activity, so we were poking around the Kukui Grove Center. I was craving a cold beverage but didn't want soda, so I moseyed on in and was going to order my favorite drink, the Strawberries & Creme Frappuccino. Scanned the menu and saw they had iced tea, my all-time favorite drink. ATMOSPHERE: This location is quite spacious and sports lots of counter seating. BEVERAGE: Teavana Shaken Iced Black Tea Lemonade - I didn't know what to expect as I never had this before. I for sure did not want lemonade, so I asked for just a "little bit" of lemonade to be added to the tea. The flavor was pretty close to what I was expecting in terms of the tea and lemon ratio. I added maybe half a teaspoon of sugar which was perfect. My only gripe is that the "tall" size was so tiny and there was ice overload. Oh well, lesson learned. SERVICE: Helen was very welcoming and friendly. Drink delivery was pretty slow even if they weren't slammed. Maybe it's due to complicated drink orders? The guy who served me didn't know 1) they sold bagged coffee 2) they could grind it 3) how to grind it 4) what to do when it was ground. He was so confused I assume that he was new. Last week while on Kauai we dropped in to Starbucks for a quick drink and I decided to get their holiday peppermint latte because the peppermint sounded quite refreshing after a long, stressful day of work. Unfortunately all I ended up walking out with was a drink that tasted like "dirt". I don't know how to explain it, but that's the best adjective I could come up with. On vacation and needing to kill some time awaiting my family's return, I found myself in the Kukui Grove Mall and in desperate need for coffee. Most of the Mall stores were not open yet, but fortunately for me, Starbucks was! There was a line of customers, but my Iced Caramel Macchiato arrived fairly quickly and was made to perfection. It was a little difficult to find a place to sit, which seem to be at a premium here, but I did find a spot, and the air-conditioning was a welcome respite from the heat. As is not unusual for Mall-located Starbucks, it gets a lot of customer traffic and noise, so this may not be the best location for writing the next great American novel. But to cool off, or get a quick Lihue shopping pick-me-up, it's ideally situated! read more

This is a nice little beach bar with good food and rude too busy waitresses. With two code to water tables open we were stuck back in a corner. When the waitress came we ask for a up front booth. She said. Ask the hostess and didn't take the order , walked away. 10 minutes later she returned . I ask can we move? And she said. No u have to ask the hostess I don't ask her you do it. . So we sat in back. Lunch for 3 with non alcohol drinks was 132 the other day and expensive today. I felt like with open tables she could have said, sure. And got a nice fat tip. read more

This is my first time at this Starbucks given that I'm not from Kauai. It seems like a slow morning with only a few people enjoying their drinks inside and a few more people outside. We tried ordering our drinks online for store pick-up and even though we were late, our drinks were still hot! The only reason i gave 4 stars is because they did mess up my order and I can't give a 4 1/2. I requested a Mango Dragonfruit Refresher and instead I got a strawberry Açaí refresher. I'm a very adventurous person and I like to try new things so I gave the drink a shot and honestly it's my second favorite drink now. I'm sure the employees would have been happy to remake it as too they were very polite and patient, but I did not want to hold up the line (there were a few people waiting). First time in a Starbucks in Lihue. Right now, I'm trying for a personal quest to visit all Starbucks locations in Hawaii. This visit to Kauai is just that. While I won't do check-ins for all the Starbucks on Yelp, just knowing that I did visit in person means everything. So this is the last Starbucks I visited before leaving for the airport on a fateful weekend. I came to Kauai for the 3rd annual Kauai Marathon. Came here after the race to enjoy a well deserved frappuchino and to recharge my iPhone. This location is medium in size, and there's nice furniture and a couple of uoutlets. Its not fun looking weird just looking for outlets and not ordering anything, especially when there's nobody in line. Glad it was kind of busy. This Starbucks (mall plaza)- is my favorite and go to Starbucks on the island! At first, I didn't really get the "warm and fuzzies" from the staff but once I was helped/ served they seemed better. Kauai is such an astoundingly beautiful place. So much natural beauty. And yet, I spent much of my free time in the Starbucks at Kukui Grove Shopping Center -- each of the three days I was on the island. Something to be said for free wi-fi and the shop's products. I had my share. Hot tea. Iced mocha latte. Even without a nice couch seat (no couches there), I was content with my power source for the laptop and the nice, friendly vibe both in the store and of the people passing by. In a weird way, this might be the best people-watching spot on the island, even though I was online touching base with the office and Facebook friends. Next time, though, I'm making a concerted effort to see more of the island and try OTHER coffee shops. read more
