When I first visited this location in early 2023, it was mediocre. There was different staff at the time. Ladies and gentlemen, when I visit a place like this, I want to enjoy myself, get work done, and maybe network. If things need to be discussed, I'll say so. It is a nice place, and the staff has changed since then. Back in early 2023, the atmosphere felt more hostile, and I eventually stopped coming and headed back to Wisconsin. When I returned later in 2023, there were a few instances where staff messed up, but those situations became lessons learned and were handled. I also noticed kids hanging out here during school hours. I'm not a fan of dropouts, and I'm definitely not a fan of watching kids make out or touch each other in front of adults. Yes, I did say something, and I hope those kids understand how important school is right now. So far, 2024 hasn't been bad, but I do have some honest thoughts. The Wi-Fi is slower now. I'm just being honest. I understand why Starbucks made this decision, but darn it--it takes forever for me to upload documents to portals for past government legal matters (EEOC). It's not my system, friend. Last year, I had a few food order mistakes, but those were corrected quickly and professionally. The bathroom is always clean--until the kids come, so fair warning. It's the kids who trash the place. On weekends, it's extremely quiet. There are also issues with homelessness, and honestly, it may be time for key codes on the doors. This is LIC--there are day shelters and designated restroom facilities nearby. The busiest times are Monday through Friday. It gets loud, and kids tend to take over seating while paying customers struggle to find a place to sit. I've shared my outlets before and even provided options for others to plug in. It's called solidarity, and more people should practice it. Be aware of your surroundings and keep an eye on your drinks and belongings. There is a homeless man who has taken people's drinks after visiting the bathroom. From my understanding, Starbucks employees aren't allowed to stop or chase him. I did say something, though. I told him I saw what he was doing and that if it happened again, we'd have a problem. I don't tolerate thieves. As someone with professionalism and as a former state employee: if you see something, say something. Overall, this location has a backyard patio, which I haven't personally experienced yet, and the space is large and comfortable. The new and current staff are even nicer than last year's employees. If anyone is reading this: my name is Keiki, but most people call me Panda. I am a licensed documentarian, professional photographer, and filmmaker. I'm also dealing with homelessness--there's no shame in saying that. I travel and stay at international hostels in the area, and sometimes I don't, in order to save money. This is an honest review of Starbucks from my point of view. Also, the dogs that come through are too cute. I'm far from home, and I've found what I believe is the best Starbucks location overall. I'd recommend coming here to work and meet with language professionals. I'd network here. Thank you for reading. FYI: Christina and her staff are some of the nicest people I've met. On May 15, 2024, she informed me that the Passion Tea was labeled incorrectly--and she knows it's all I drink, with no liquid cane sugar. Ever since coming to NYC, it's been hard to trust people, but this is by far the best Starbucks location in the city. However, in January 2025, there has been a man panhandling inside. He asked me to do a debit card swap for cash and has continued bothering customers after being told not to. His behavior is alarming and makes me not want to come anymore. I asked the manager to have him stop approaching me and asking for strange items. FYI: When I first came back to NYC, I was houseless, but I had income and respected Starbucks' rules. This isn't about the manager--it's about decisions made by higher-ups. The staff has become my friends, so I'm speaking up for both sides.

I frequent here all the time and service is always good. Ambiance is like any other Starbucks, however just need to do a better job of frequently keeping the restrooms clean.

This is one of my favorite Starbucks to get coffee. It has a lot of seats and tables throughout the whole shop. Pickup is seamless and not difficult. The music can be a bit loud sometimes but most of the time it is at a normal volume. There are two bathrooms with 2 sinks outside of the bathroom all the way in the end. There is outdoor seating too as you walk in with glass doors when the weather is warm. Nice staff and very clean. I will recommend anyone who is nearby to stop at this Starbucks.

I frequent this Starbucks because I work in the area. Good coffee drinks. Servers are friendly. I just feel like there's something missing from this location. Vibes??? Maybe this Starbucks needs a little music. Just a little. Otherwise, it's just fine.

    What I got

I've ordered this drink many times and always received what's shown in the second picture. But this time, they gave me a smaller size. I asked to speak with the manager, and her attitude was quite different. She argued this was blablabla and said they could make another one in a venti cup for me. I said that's fine and decided to just take the one they gave me. Still, nothing about the interaction made me feel comfortable--it didn't feel like it was my fault, and I don't think I was being too picky. If I were wrong, then why have I always received the same drink at other locations--and even at this one before, when a different staff member got it right?

I like this Starbucks--they are consistent. Inconsistently is usually the issue I have with Starbucks but not at this location. I can order via the app or in person and it there have been no issues with my drinks.

This was so cute! This was back in 2021, one of their baristas created this cute sign!

Love this area and spot for coffee in the LIC area, you may not know, but there's an outdoor balcony that can be only accessed when you walk in. Area is quite spacious, it can get quite congested during morning hours which is expected given the location area (located by a few schools, colleges, offices, banks).

Wow, are we gonna miss this place We're moving, so today is the last check-in, but everything I said before still stands. The people here are great. Friendly, helpful, and patient. The location is fantastic; the facility is usually quite clean. An abundance of power outlets and seating really makes this ideal. Thanks, guys, for helping make LIC feel like home. ----------- ///ORIGINAL REVIEW/// Well, I'm delighted to report that this is one of the best ''Bucks I've been in since Seattle. We were there toward the end of the day, so naturally the wee bakery section was nearly emtpy, but don't let that fool you. The coffee was actually strong - not half-watery as it is in a lot of chains. The staff was super-helpful and polite, and the space is GREAT. It's huge and tastefully decorated, and the music is just loud enough to entertain without being so loud it drowns out conversation. I'll definitely be coming here to write. You might guess from these comments that these things go very wrong at some Starbucks, so I am quite happy. Anyway, we will be back. The LIC definitely lucked out with this particular branch.

Friendly service. I like my coffee very light on the sugar and sometimes the baristas can go heavy on the syrup but they made my iced double espresso with a shot of coconut milk and one pump of vanilla syrup perfectly. The people here are also very friendly.

First and last time ever going to this store. I recommend everyone to go to the other Starbucks a few block down. I ordered a venti brown sugar espresso the girl making it seemed distracted but it was whatever. As I got my coffee I noticed the coffee was darker than usual and it wasn't filled to line. I left and returned to ask for more milk. As i take the first sip I noticed there was no sugar or maybe one pump. I swear I it was just bitter coffee I had to put my own sugar. I'm so disappointed I would've gone back for a refund or a new cup but I needed to clock into work.

The right balance of coffee and milk. Soooooo good! I need another.

OMG! This place is HUGE! It is spacious. The only thing is, i just wish it was closer to home. I came here one day since the 7 train was having issues and everyone was just sitting in the station for over 40 mins. I realized I would get home quicker if I just walked. So I got off and passed by this place unexpectedly, which I didn't even know existed. I was so happy to find it. LIC seems so empty sometimes. It was late in the evening and probably the last thing I needed was caffeine, but what the heck! I walked in and to my surprise, this place is HUGE! There are tons of seats and even an outdoor seating area. I can only imagine how nice it'll be sitting here, sipping coffee, on a lovely spring day or in the fall when there is a light breeze. Wish the Starbucks by me were this nice. I got a standard iced coffee and it was amazing! It just hit the spot. It was exactly what I needed. I sat there for about an hour and enjoyed my coffee. It had the right balance of coffee and milk and didn't taste burnt at all. Now that is good coffee!

The escargot was covered with pesto that tasted like the basil wasn't fresh. Also, I'm sure there was plenty of garlic because the restaurant smelled like it, but I would have liked more garlic in this dish. The meatballs were mostly bread (there may have been some meat). After we complained, the item was removed from our bill by our friendly, polite, and conscientious server. Note: This is a French restaurant, but they didn't have any butter for the bread.

Here's my review in order from the best to the least desirable, according to our group. Vanilla custard- the filling was thick and speckled with vanilla beans. It wasn't too sweet. This was the best according to our group. Strawberry filled- this is most traditional and Breads Bakery does a nice job. The jam is homemade. Pistachio- this doughnut was filled with smooth pistachio cream and was topped with a few pieces of pistachio. Not traditional, but they did a good job. Chocolate- the filling tasted like a semisweet or bittersweet cream/custard. Like the others, it was smooth. The vanilla was more popular among our group and I personally didn't love this doughnut. Mango- this was the one that those in my group felt missed the mark. It wasn't cloyingly sweet, so that was good, but the filling didn't do anything for us either. If you're looking for a mango dessert the one at Lysée is a real winner.
