As a regular at this store I am extremely disappointed in the new staffing this Starbucks has hired. today I came through for lunch and I got a normal brown sugar shaken espresso. It had no ice, no cinnamon powder, she also double cupped it for some reason? All of the baristas here are so lovely! The food and drinks are typical for Starbucks, everything tastes good and the atmosphere is friendly, upbeat and clean. Usually very busy in the mornings. There are always quite a few new faces but that's great! Seems like they are trying really hard in a place that probably isn't easy to keep staffed. If they make a mistake they are quick to apologize & fix it. I will keep coming back! read more

We live in Jemez which is about an hour away. Ordered drinks and food and left to head home. On our way home we discovered there was a food issue...the Egg Bite had a strange moldy taste. I called when we got home...and share the info and the person on the phone was somewhat apologetic but didn't offer to make it right...disappointing. This is the biggest Starbucks I have seen in Albuquerque. I stand by the fact that they are quick, and always pretty patient when apps don't work or when you need a moment. This is the worst Starbucks. The employees can not multi task and you will wait for your drink for 20-40min!! I HAVE NEVER waited at a Starbucks for so long. What's worse is they can't hire people because the manager doesn't show up for interviews and won't return phone calls to her applicants. The drinks: not great but not the worst I've had. This is the worst Starbucks I have ever been too. I placed an order thru my Starbucks app. When I got there to pick my order up both drinks were cold, one didn't have extra foam or Carmel drizzle as order stated. Second drink lid did not fit on the cup. Luckily, I hadn't taken a drink just yet and if I would have the drink would have spilled all over me. I called the manager to let her know that I was not satisfied and my order was not correct. She apologized and advised me to come back. I came back and brought both drinks. When I got to the register, I advised the barista that I had spoken to the manager and he stated that manager had advised him of the call. I was not happy at the fact that the manager didn't come and speak to me, instead she had her employee take care of the situation. The barista stated that he had made the drinks and he did apologize and what I didn't understand is when he stated that he was sorry about the order that "it was in the heat of the moment"and they were having problems with there lids. To me that is common sense if the lid is not fitting correctly find another alternative. I advised him that if that coffee would have been xtra hot and would have spilled on me due to the lid that would be a law suite. As I was waiting for my coffee the manager walks in bragging about some coffee cups that some one had brought back to her from a different country. She then had the box in between her arm and side. Instead of her throwing it in the trash she literally drops it on the floor and looks at her employees to pick it up and throw it away. That to me shows what type of a manger she is. As a manager you should talk to the person that is complaining and never have your employees defuse the situation. Also, train your staff the way they should be trained. As for the manager I feel that she needs more training herself. P.S I did get reimbursed and was given a $5 gift card. read more

Coffee was good-consistent with the chain, however, there were a number of other issues. The staff was not friendly, even rude. The store was unkept and dirty. There was coffee spilled on the cash register counter that I had to avoid. I even made the person aware of it, but they didn't clean it up. There were pieces of garbage on the floor, coffee grounds, etc. They were very slow. In addition, I asked for no lid, to reduce my plastic use, and they put one on, so I mentioned that I didn't need a lid and they could reuse it, so she took it off and threw it in the trash while I was standing there. Not impressed. Surprised the corporation is allowing this. read more

Average starbucks.... Busy with out if the door lines at times because it's one of the only hints of commercialism in this town. The employees are all extremely friendly, the drinks have always been made correctly, and I really enjoy the outdoor patio they have set up. read more

Thank goodness for the Starbucks in this town. It felt like a beacon of hope seeing this as we drove by. While they do close earlier than your standard Starbucks in a "normal" town, they do offer the regular Starbucks drinks and pastries. Service was good, if not a little slow, but I'd like to think that was simply because everyone flocked to a familiar coffee shop. I usually enjoy sitting at this Starbucks, but today's experience left such a bitter taste I through away my latte and left immediately. And I paid almost $15 for that latte! In short: I asked for a grande pumpkin spice latte. I handed a $20 bill and got back $5.2 in change. After 2 seconds I figured something is wrong with the change...The guy has already went off doing something else. I talked to the guy at the other register, who was quite helpful and took my details and said the manager will get back to me. And she did. She said she counted the money at the cash register and there's no extra change. So she won't give me any (my!!!) money back. So you thought $4 for a coffee is expensive? I ended up paying $14.88 for a latte... I don't understand where is that money. I am POSITIVE I gave a $20 bill, because just before I arrived at Starbucks, I withdrew $40 at the ATM and I had no cash before that (so I couldn't possibly had a $10 bill). Starbucks , home to overpriced coffee and ridiculously overpriced sugar and cream laden coffee derived concoctions. and mediocre factory made pastries... 3 years ago I visited a coffee bean/cherry processing facility in El Salvador which is a provider for Starbucks and was interested to learn that Starbucks had the lowest standards of their major export market customers: the Japanese coffee companies demanded perfection (virtually no defective beans), the major Italian coffee company Illy Cafe demanded a fairly low defect rate amongst the beans, and Starbucks accepted a much, much higher rate of defective beans.. This processing facility actually had women on staff who watched a conveyor belt of coffee beans go by and would manually pick out the defective ones, choosing how many defects to accept based on who the customer was .. but this is like almost the only place to hang out in boring Los Alamos, so of course i went there like everybody else when working in the area... oh, and this location closes ridiculously early, 9 PM, in character with the sleepy nature of this weird little town for nuclear weapons designers , and about 15 minutes before closing the staff will roam around the store telling you that they are about to close, more or less implying "you better be outta here at 9 PM, got it!?" between the lines.. read more
