BEST COFFEE EVER! As my family and I were walking around the plaza, we wanted some coffee. We ended up coming across this hidden gem! The minute we walked into this coffee shop, we were kindly greeted by everyone working. Then, we were given a sample of their caramel sauce that is house made. Apparently, a majority of their syrups and sauces are made in house which is a PLUS. I ordered an iced vanilla latte with caramel drizzle. I've been to a lot of coffee shops and dare i say that this was the BEST VANILLA LATTE i've ever had! We sat outside (they have outdoor and indoor seating which is nice). We had accidentally spilled some coffee, thankfully Kagome was so SWEET and HELPFUL, she immediately came to clean up the mess. Thank you again Kagome! We truly appreciated the staff and the entire ambiance of the shop. Definitely will be coming back!!! Last note. Stopped by while visiting Santa Fe and craving a strong morning coffee. The café is super cute with charming décor and plenty of cozy seating to soak in the Santa Fe vibe. The girl at the register was really friendly. They had brewed coffee ready in a thermos, and when I asked if it was fresh, she let me taste it first, which I appreciated. It was smooth but a little lighter than the dark roast I was hoping for. My daughter ordered an iced mango espresso, but it had an unexpected cucumber-like flavor that wasn't really our thing. We stopped by today to try this coffee roaster and follow the signs to the second floor. It's a very large and spacious place with many options for sitting inside, outside or in another quiet room. 35 North is located at the Shops at Santa Fe on level 2. There was plenty of signage (shown in the photos) directing us to the right location, so it was easy to find. The café has a cool, modern vibe with plenty of indoor seating as well as a nice outdoor patio. They were very busy on a Saturday morning. The counter staff was very matter-of-fact. Not rude, but not especially warm or welcoming either. Honestly, I got the impression she was just under a lot of stress. We also asked another staff member if we could use one of the patio umbrellas (they were all closed for some reason), and he was prompt and friendly, which we appreciated. We ordered a toasted everything bagel with cream cheese, a meat-filled empanada, a honey latte, and a cold brew. The cold brew was a little too dark for my taste, though coffee preferences are definitely subjective. Interestingly, there's a place in Albuquerque that has an almost identical flavor profile. The toasted everything bagel was very good, but it didn't come with quite enough cream cheese. The single cream cheese packet also felt a bit lackluster presentation-wise. That said, when we asked for more, the response was friendly and accommodating. The honey latte had beautiful latte art and great flavor, definitely a highlight. The empanada, filled with ground beef, green chile, and piñon, was a bit over-toasted, but the filling itself was flavorful, even if somewhat sparse. Overall, I think 35 North has a lot going for it and could easily elevate the experience with a few small improvements to consistency and customer service. read more

An easy walk from the hotel and a TON of space to hang out. Great upbeat vibe before 8am on a random weekday. The baristas are friendly and busy. Cool shop that covers three spaces at the back of the strip mall. If you want the buzz of commerce, hang out where you order coffee and (if you're lucky) they might be actively roasting a batch. Looking for a calm outdoor space for fresh air? Head to the patio with plenty of shade. Need a table for that meeting with a bunch of friends? Try the third space across the hall with a huge map on the wall and ample comfy seating, too. Coffee was crisp and velvety. A decaf flat white with heavy cream will never do you wrong. Great spot. I had a great cappuccino and the staff was super friendly. They have a cute balcony with great views of the street, plus extra indoor seating if you prefer to stay inside. GPS took us to Baskin Robbin's but go inside the mall and toward the elevator, you will find this cute indoor/outdoor coffee shop that provides free WiFi and a clean restroom. I needed the WiFi to download a ticket but ordered up a deliciously brewed latte to sip on while the download happened. I didn't have any food but the nipples looked great. I don't think this spot is really for tourists, because it was hidden off of the main street in a little mall. You wouldn't have guessed that such a cute coffee shop would be embedded in there, but it was. I ordered a pumpkin spice latte with less pumpkin syrup. The person behind the counter was concerned that it was just the right amount of sweetness for me, and told me I could come back up to get it adjusted. Found in the very back of one of the little mall areas off of the Plaza, 35 North is a pretty cool space. I ended up with a rose cardamom matcha with oat milk and I really enjoyed it. The space they have with chairs and tables is great for pulling out the laptop and getting some work done. I think that really was the best part, great seating and lovely views as the snow came down outside. They also have an outdoor patio area which was not possible because of weather but would be enjoyable on a sunnier day. read more

Stopped in on a chilly Sunday for something to warm us up. If you enter on E Water street, the coffee shop is on the second floor. There are steps and an elevator that can get you there. If you enter on San Francisco St, you're already on the second floor! I ordered a turmeric ginger chai latte. I've had variations of this drink, but not exactly this. It was so deliciously foamy. The color was influenced by turmeric, though I felt like it tasted mostly of ginger. I didn't get any of the chai spice flavor. Either way, it was delicious. My husband got a caramel latte and said it was really good. One of the coolest things about this shop is that they roast their own beans. Another is the view.
