This is one of my go to Starbucks in the area. It doesn't have a drive thru but parking is not bad to go grab your drink inside. They also have ample seating inside and some seating outside. It's always busy but the baristas make the drinks pretty quickly. read more

It's Starbucks. I came in because it was Happy Hour on 3/21. What's Happy Hour at Starbucks? Well, for this particular day Starbucks was giving 50% off any grande (or larger) espresso based drink. Because I'm gold status with their app, I get free refills on brewed coffee or tea. So after I drank a Venti Americano, I got a refill of unsweetened cold brew with no ice to go. I take the cold brew home and use it for my morning coffee. Cold brew is great at any temperature. You can heat it up on the stove or nuke it. It won't turn caustic. The Main St. Matawan location is kinda large. They have tables for those who need to work and seating areas for those who want to hang. It's a busy location, so yeah, at times the wait can be a bit long. The baristas are great in that they handle the crowd pressure well and despite being hectic, they remain polite. I have no complaints about cleanliness or service. read more

This is my neighborhood Starbucks so naturally I am a regular. Stopped by today with my kids & purchased their new black reusable coffee cup. I noticed the cup since they have it displayed at the register. I picked up the sample cup to show the cashier & asked her to purchase one. After sitting a while with my kids while they finished their drinks we leave. I get home only to realize I was never handed the black reusable cup I had purchased. I go back today to show my receipt & ask for the coffee cup. I was met by "confused" baristas who tell me they are confused since everything to purchase is "grab & go". Ummm... so why not add extra cups @ the register next to the display? The bin for the cups were on the opposite end of the display. - Good job guys. After today the new Starbucks on 34 will be my regular. These baristas made made me so uncomfortable. I would have waited for them to check the cameras. Their atmosphere is infamous, their beverages are DELICIOUS, and worth every penny spent. I highly recommend downloading the app because you can get so many nice perks, offers and free items. Even when Busy the customer Service was spot on. I come here often and always served with a smile. Someone took my preordered drink by mistake and they immediately made me another. I find their vanilla scones to be fresher then most Starbucks. The Mobil order printer jammed and the staff was being yelled at. They never missed a step. Apologized and made it right. Yelling at the staff over coffee was uncalled for but they never flinched! Way to go Starbucks Staff!!!! read more

This is by far my favorite Starbucks. Aren't I lucky that it's in my town?? The counter is always well staffed with friendly and fast-moving employees. Displays are neat, and cream and sugar table is consistently clean and stocked. There's tons of seating and they don't mind if you while away an afternoon in one of their comfy chairs. Quick service on an early weekday afternoon and nice baristas too! I ordered the new (iced) caramelized honey latte and as delicious as it was, I was pleasantly surprised by the friendly baristas who went out of their way to chat it up while making my drink. All of the barristas at the Matawan Starbucks (on Main) are wonderful. They always remember my regular drink orders and greet me with a big smile. I go in regularly by myself and I've never had to wait in a long line and have always had great experiences. I took my four-year-old son into the shop this week on a 'date' and Kim, Allen and Carrie (I think?) were all wonderful. My son is very curious and wanted to know about the machines, how they worked, what each of the barristas were doing and why. All three of them were full of smiles and information for him and when we left he couldn't stop talking about all the the neat things he'd learned. (Thanks, guys!) read more

This Location is FILTHY! I only stop there about once every 3 months and every time no matter what time of year it is, it is always disgustingly dirty. I was thinking maybe with Covid it would be cleaner but nope. The garbage can looks like it's never been wiped down since they got it, tables(that aren't even being used) have garbage and sugar spilled all over them. The clear plexiglass around the ordering counter has syrups Spray dripping and other fluids dripping and smeared all over them. Every shelf and mugs/tumblers have layers of dust and fingerprints on them. Every countertop and table also have crusty rings on them including the walls with random areas of spilt coffee. This is a great place to get coffee. Even though there are often a lot of people here, there is never a long wait in line because the staff is very quick and helpful. Also, despite the fact that there are always a lot of people here, there is always enough room to sit (or at least has been in my experience). I go here a lot to get work done on days which I don't go to the office and I really like their coffee and wi-fi. I know Starbucks is a national chain but I can't speak to whether this is better or worse than the others because I have never really gone to others. I love this Starbucks because it is very spacious and if you go at the right time it's not crowded. When it's not crowded it's a nice place to study. My favorite drink to get is the very berry hibiscus tea and the snickerdoodle hot chocolate. The only thing I didn't like about my last experience was the uncomfortableness I felt when a lady who might have been a manager was yelling at the workers. I feel like in my opinion whatever had to be said should have been done quietly and privately to them. Overall, it's nice and I enjoy being here when I am. read more

I guess beggars can't be choosers, but I showed up and bought a $5 latte and asked Lori at the counter if I could possibly borrow a sharpee marker for a few minutes. She picked up a cup full of pens and markers, showed me sharpees and said they are like gold at the store and each employee has their own, so I cannot borrow one, but I can get in my car and go buy one at a nearby store if I want to. I didn't raise any objections. I just said thanks, but I realize this was a really disappointing moment as a Starbucks fan. I understand Starbucks is not an office supply store.
