This Starbucks has gone under renovation. It used to have a little indoor seating area in the front of the store. Now it has turned into a grab and go Starbucks. They have outdoor seating. The staff here usually when I go in are not really the most friendliest. I have been here and have had some friendly staff. Don't even think about coming here with your computer and phone to get some work done. They have removed the large communal bench table and replaced it with storage units. This also eliminated all the outlets. Now there is not even one to charge up, and only a few single tables inside. Sure, they have a nice patio area to sit outside and a nice staff too. Yet, it seems as if many Starbucks locations in the city area are now making it unwelcome to sit for a while with your electronic devices and enjoy a beverage. read more

First I've been to this Starbucks almost everyday since the start of the year and the service is always really good. Except for 5/19/25. I first order an iced chai tea latte and a warmed butter croissant. I waited about 10 minutes and then asked if my drink was ready since it usually takes less time. I then a barista named RJ then said we're little backed up give us a moment and said that with an attitude. I then waited a when my drink came out it was wrong and I had a hot chai tea latte. When i told her about she then said it was my fault. I showed her the receipt and she ended up remaking it. Then my butter croissant never came out. All you have to do is put it in a machine and take it out. I then told the another person and he yeld out to another worker can you make a croissant. And it was never made in the 30 minutes I was there. I will not come back if the service countines. read more

Starbucks on 1st Avenue and East 85th Street is super popular. It's very small inside but it's surrounded on the outside by a Public Seating Space. It's very clear on the sign that a purchase is not necessary. I do enjoy my coffee here and I have for years. I especially like to sit outside on the weekend when they have live music. That's when it gets really crowded. Some days I stand by the low wall on 1st Avenue and use it as a coffee counter. It's just the right height. I'm recommending this location provided you don't want to sit inside. read more

Do not come here unless you wanna get yelled at by some employee. Most of the workers are nice but there's one really angry and borderline rude lady. She made the whole experience really unpleasant. She was yelling the whole time and to ask for any help you had to proceed with caution. I was under the impression that Starbucks employees are known for their kind customer service but this lady did not give a shit. Stopped by for ham and cheese on a baguette. It was about $13.75. It was heated up! The bread was dry, . The ham was obviously some inferior commercial pressed brand. The cheese was okay. Since I have a strict criteria for the perfect Starbuck's, you must take my review with huge grain of salt. This location has an excellent outdoor space. If that was what I was looking for, it would get 4 stars at least. But all I want is a wi-fi connection, an a/c plug and a restroom. It has all three, but the indoor space is teeny tiny. Maybe 3 people total could use it fully. And I can just imagine how premium that space would be during the winter months. My quest continues.... read more

This starbucks is a little small on the inside, but what does that have to do with anything? Actually, it give this starbucks an advantage becasue they are able to create this lovely park like outdoor space where you can be shaded by some trees if you wish or catch some rays. There are tables for 2 people, 4 people or you can play around with the tables. The staff was fine and I was sadly made aware that I could not have my old fashion doughnut warmed because "anything with frosting or icing is dangerous" to heat up. I hear that, but definitely got it warmed at more than one another starbucks and it was a suggestion to me to have it that way. Either way, I enjoyed my treat, my mocha frap, the fresh air (when there wasn't a smoker nearby), the free wifi and the restroom (has a code) while I wanted for the fiance to finish up a work appt. Great place with friendly morning shift crew. They almost always have my drink ready before I order; a plus because I am a frappuccino drinker, and as you well know, that takes a while to make. The store itself is small. I have often found myself squeezed against the bakery counter while waiting on line, if there was someone adding sugar to their coffee in the self-serve area and someone else was coming from the bar/restroom. This is a huge pain if the other parties have suitcases, or big bags, or are just plain inconsiderate. And it's worse during the holidays, when the store has their gift items on display. Indoor seating is limited, but their patio is a decent size, so that's a great option on a nice day. They also offer wifi, which does not always work, and definitely not the fastest, but it's free. Apart from the size of the store, this is one of my favorite Starbucks in the city. It's clean, and the staff serves me caffeine with a smile - what more could a girl ask for? read more

Why in the world would it take 25 minutes to make a pre-made sandwich AND a frapp at 8:45am!? When I ordered, there was absolutely only 2 people in the store. As I wait for my order, I see EVERYONE ELSE who ordered after me get their items, including 13 mobile orders! I just don't understand this place - it can be relatively empty and fully staffed with all the employees visibly working, but yet it is somehow the slowest moving Starbucks I've ever been to. I asked for a venti hot tea with a splash of steamed almond milk, and was charged double what the price normally is (they charged me for a chai latte instead). Very rude and incompetent worker named Yesenia. It's a lovely location, so it's unfortunate. After I paid for a sandwich she forgot about, she snapped at me in front of other customers and said "No you didn't," and her coworker kindly got it for me. Before that she gave me a blonde roast instead of dark, even though she repeated the order back to me, and rolled her eyes when I corrected the order. No apology in either situation. I also notice she was much more polite to almost 10 other customers who coincidentally were not Asian. Anyone who's worked in the service industry (including me) knows there are really annoying and entitled customers that merit that nasty attitude. That was definitely not the case. read more

I went to get a chai latte this morning and it prompted me to write an email to starbucks: I visited your store this morning and while I was waiting for my drink I noticed the barista sucking on his arm. After I received my drink I noticed he was bleeding and was sucking blood from his arm. I was disgusted. I left the store and threw my $5 drink away. Love the outdoor seatings but the indoor is very small, in the winter, i try not to come here IF i intend to stay long just because i never get a seat, but in the summer, hell yeah! one thing, i dont get why it's so cold indoor vs outdoor!! I study at Starbucks probably 5 day a week. This is part of the Starbucks review series. Overall: 3/5 tl;dr: Really small inside seating area, but a rare SB with a patio (for that other half of the year when it's warm enough to study outside). ----- LAYOUT: This Starbucks has an outdoor seating area! Unfortunately for me, I usually head out to study with less than two hours of daylight left, and there's no outlets outside :( On the inside, there's a communal table and a couch that runs down the S side of the store. Pretty small store, but gets a lot of sunlight and can be very cute on a sunny day. STAFF: They can get very unprofessional once the crowds clear out. A ton of joking at each other and forgetting that customers are still in the store. CROWD: Can get crowded during the afternoon, but this place is almost completely dead at night (pretty much from 6 to 10). If the outlets work, it's a great place if you need to do a lot of work at night, haha it's almost like a library. BATHROOM: On the SW corner of the store, pretty clean, but I think that's mainly because there's not a lot of foot traffic around here. OUTLET: There are outlets that run down the couch, but be advised that it has not worked on me 50% of the time, which makes me very sad especially if I trekked all the way here, bypassing the outlet heaven on 90th and 1st. read more

I have a love/hate relationship with this Starbucks. The staff has always been friendly, and 9 times out of 10 I'll be happy with how my drink order turns out. In nice weather, this Starbucks is the best. There is a TON of outdoor seating on their patio. Love to sit outside on a beautiful spring day, reading or people-watching while I finish my drink. In the winter, this place offers about ten seats inside, cramped and uncomfortable. I rarely chance this Starbucks by myself, let alone with another person. It always amazes me when the staff at a store or restaurant doesn't realize that the customer is the most important part of their business model. Not taking out the garbage, not relating stories to one another, but making sure that the customer is happy. I don't even have an MBA but I somehow know that one. Even for the low standards of Starbucks, the customer service experience here is noticeably poor. There is one very good guy there who also must have the misfortune of being the daytime manager. He looks you in the eye, greets you warmly, takes your order, all in a friendly manner. Unfortunately, the underlings he is in charge of don't have anywhere near the capacity for basic customer service skills, following simple directions or even an ability for normal human interactions, such as saying "thank you" or "you're welcome." Last time I went there one of the grunts needed to change the garbage right at the very moment I was fixing my drink. He did manage an "excuse me" and then proceeded to screw around under the cabinet area, preventing me from adding milk to my drink for some time. I was very sorry to have caused him the inconvenience! Of the 4 times I have been there, 3 of those times my order has been screwed up in some way. It's just awful. There is a nice amount of outdoor seating at this location which can serve as a good buffer area to count to 10 away from the idiotic staff whom you may want to shout at for being so dull...but I'm not sure this would be an effective strategy outside of the summer months. read more

A quick update. A lot of reviews comment on the staff here. I'm happy to say many of the "problem" staff are gone. They have some new managers on and, while it can still be hit or miss with the different crews, the afternoon/evening shift is spot on. Friendly, quick with the drinks, and they keep the place clean. Heck, they even have pastries in the case finally! Indoor seating is extremely limited, but it's more of an outdoor Starbucks. Enjoy the outdoor seating when it's warm. read more
