Obviously as a wheelchair user, I cannot sit at the high tables, and when I have asked the staff for understanding, other places have denied me. Ines let me use my laptop at a wheelchair accessible table without any fuss. Mark was very gracious. When I asked, he said, "we will make an exception." I felt heard without advocating for common sense and I greatly appreciate the humility. Thank you!

The coffee is excellent - I believe it's roasted by devocion. I also love how they serve their coffee in glass/ceramic cups and glasses for those dining in. I usually will get the healthy start - I love their dressing and the eggs are always seasoned perfectly. The staff are nice but can seem a little stressed when things get busy. They adhere to strict "no laptops and tablets before 2pm" and "no outside coffee" policies.

Here's my review in order from the best to the least desirable, according to our group. Vanilla custard- the filling was thick and speckled with vanilla beans. It wasn't too sweet. This was the best according to our group. Strawberry filled- this is most traditional and Breads Bakery does a nice job. The jam is homemade. Pistachio- this doughnut was filled with smooth pistachio cream and was topped with a few pieces of pistachio. Not traditional, but they did a good job. Chocolate- the filling tasted like a semisweet or bittersweet cream/custard. Like the others, it was smooth. The vanilla was more popular among our group and I personally didn't love this doughnut. Mango- this was the one that those in my group felt missed the mark. It wasn't cloyingly sweet, so that was good, but the filling didn't do anything for us either. If you're looking for a mango dessert the one at Lysée is a real winner.

The gentleman there was very kind and helpful. The Coquito Latte (Iced) was delicious; rich in flavor. It came in a pouch as opposed to a cup which is different. I've tried this spot years ago (different location) and remember not liking it. I went with the Tres Leches Latte which was cinnamon-y and creamy...but that's about it. You can't really taste the Puerto Rican coffee they use aside from maybe some dark chocolate notes. It's milky more than anything (as I would expect from a drink called Tres Leches) but I hoped it to be more cohesive with a stronger coffee flavor. I find the coffee pouches pretty cute but would prefer the drink I'm buying for ~$8 to actually hit the spot. Unfortunately, it didn't for the second time.

Got two things- lavendar latte and a pastel de nata and it was over $11 Not only did the barista initially forget to put the lavender in until I reminded her, the lid design was really poorly done, and it spilled all over me when I was walking to go, watch the New York City Marathon, and getting moshed against a bunch of drunk people I was happy about the pastry, because it was lightly warmed, and very delicious, but very small and sneaky. So I, didn't really expect it to be that expensive???????? I guess I was charged extra for the lavender as well as the almond milk. All in all, the barista really didn't seem to know what she was doing, and it also took a really long time for them to take my order, especially since there wasn't anyone in front of me.

When I moved to the UES, I was worried finding a new local roaster. I've had bad experiences where the beans are too oily or something is off that messes with my usually grind size/extraction time. No issues with Oslo's beans. 2. They actually know how to make a proper americano. Every coffee shop takes a standard cup, puts in the espresso shot, and then fills hot water to the brim of the cup. This destroys the flavor of the espresso. You end up with hot water that tastes slightly like coffee. Oslo chooses quality over quantity. They don't fill the water up to the brim, so you have a cup with 2/3 of liquid; however, this is a proper americano. You can taste the difference. At other shops, I just get drip coffee because they don't know what they're doing. Oslo knows what they're doing. That's why I come here.
