Whatever you do. Do not go into the lobby with the thought that you'll be in and out faster. Their focus is the drive thru. I waited almost five minutes just to place an order not one person acknowledged me. Yet several walked by. A "I'll be with you in a minute" would have been nice. I counted 7 people behind the counter and all energy was focused on the drive through. I ordered a drip coffee with steamed soy milk. Waited close to ten minutes. While waiting I saw the same experience with other customers who walked into the store and withes on line. It looked chaotic in there but yet no one seemed to be moving with a sense of urgency. I managed several Starbucks stores and I know how crazy they can get but here people were more engaged with one another and not about drinks. I'm surprised by the other negative reviews. I personally had 0 issues here. I walked in asking what could be made decaf and was helped by a nice guy who recommended the decaf white mocha latte. It was delicious, staff was nice, the location was clean. I stayed for 3 hours for a business meeting. Only minus 1 star because it was raining sideways and the air conditioner was ON in there. Typical Starbucks experience in Newburgh, NY. The place has a welcoming seating area and drive through. There wasn't a line, but likely because I visited mid-afternoon. Although there seemed to be plenty of employees, it took a while to get the drinks I ordered, so efficiency is something this location can work on. The food and drinks were all standard Starbucks recipe, so nothing special. It was a quick detour off the highway for me, so fairly easy to access if you're passing through the area. read more

I ordered my drink from the Mobil app at 8:54 and it's now 9:13 am. I asked why is it taking so long and I was simply told that I am the 8th drink in cue. Horrible service. The speed which the staff works in unbelievably slow. I can hear 2 days in a row and you'd think that by using the mobile app that it would be any quicker. It is not. This store consistently makes my preferred drink wrong. The baristas argue about the recipe with my husband or I when asked to remake them. Then it is always with a belligerent attitude, especially Spencer. I just want the drink made according to Starbucks recipe! My opinion of this place went down a bit after I stepped inside. The seating was blah. There were a few comfy-looking sofas and chairs on one side, which everybody tries to grab. On the other side there are these weirdly shaped tables with less comfortable chairs. If there's more than 3 people in line in front of you, you'll need to exercise some patience getting your drinks. Even though there may be as many as 6 people working behind the counter, a lot of the effort goes to satisfying the drive-thru customers. Also, even though they will take your name at the register when you place your drink order, that appears to get lost by the time your drink is ready. The woman who made our drinks couldn't be bothered to do more than yell out what she plopped on the counter. The idea of taking your name is that several people could have ordered the same thing, right? The only person who really showed any amount of customer service here was the guy who took our orders. read more

I come here pretty often. It's a place to go, have a refreshing drink and catch up with friends. Not only is the place welcoming and clean, but at least 90% of the staff are extremely friendly. When I can't make up my mind on a drink, they give me recommendations. It gives me the chance to try something new. Favorite spot to come to!! read more

I've been here a few times because it's on my way to work. It has to be the WORST Starbucks I've ever been to. The tables are always dirty. The staff doesnt care. My last visit I waited at the counter for the girl to finish texting whomever she was texting. Then I placed my order (caramel Frappuccino) and when I received my order it was a hot caramel coffee... The alternative is the fake store inside Barnes & Noble or the franchise inside Target both within close proximity. Terrible Starbucks! Their hours are unpredictable not opening until 12:30, 1:30 sometimes. Then when you finally get to order they ask you what food you want first and will pause your order to put the food in the oven then proceed to ask you what you want for beverages. So by the time you get to the window to pay, your food is cold and usually your drink is wrong or they don't supply a straw for a drink that requires a straw. Ridiculous business practices! Have your employees trained properly so they can work with a sense of urgency and care. Do drive thru times not matter anymore? So annoying. read more

This location is usually on point even when they are super busy today my mobile order was made incorrectly and they were really great about it they offered to make a new drink but i said it was fine they only forgot the cold foam so I just wanted the $1 up charge for the add on refunded and she gave me a refund for the whole drink! I give it 2 stars instead of 1 because Starbucks is like pizza: even when it's bad, it's pretty good. Having said that, this is EASILY the worst of the 50+ different Starbucks locations I've been to around the world. I've been to this particular location about 5-6 times and I've overheard employees using profanity in conversations at least three times. Just now one commented to another about a regular customer saying "oh my God, she annoys the f--- out of me!" Really? In a workplace? A company as great as Starbucks really should be better than this. ------Update to Previous Review------- In the 7 months since leaving the above review, there has been a new manager and massive personnel turnover. I can't in good conscience fail to bring up how much this place has improved. The employees are now the strength of the establishment and not the weakness. Normally I am not someone to take the time out of my day to compose a rude review. However, I waited 45 minutes for my mobile order today and was treated awful in the process. I understand that it can get extremely busy between in person, mobile, and drive thru orders but that is no excuse to act rude and unprofessional towards customers. After 15 minutes of waiting I politely asked, " excuse me i don't mean to bother you but could you check on my mobile order "? The worker who's tag read "Bri" asked me for my name and told me my ticket didn't even come out of the printer yet. Another 20 minutes goes by and I decided I've had enough as I'm leaving I take one more glance at the counter and see my drink. "Bri" put it on the opposite side of the counter and after telling her my name she still didn't acknowledge that i was there nor called it out loud. On Saturday Oct 6, 2018 we went to your location in Newburgh, N.Y. The first thing you employees were not friendly at all not even a smile or a good morning. We then ordered our breakfast items (our group was lead to feel like we were bothering them). We had a group of 7 so someone in our party asked for help cleaning a table. So your barista went to the table and removed the items on the table and took their hand and wiped-off the table. We have never seen such a thing in our life. The counter top where beverages are delivered to customers had spilled milk, spilled water and finished drinks were placed on that and slid to customer to pick up. That is totally gross. This Starbucks has consistently terrible service. Today I waited inside at the register for 10 minutes without being acknowledged and there were at least 6 people working. I understand that each employee has a different role and consideration is often given to the long line of to go customers but perhaps one of those 6 employees should be focused on in-house customers.
