The service was amazing, it's a nice little store. Where it's located is kind of weird towards where you got to park but it's a okay walk. They have a bunch of stuff in the store like all the cups they sell are so cute and unique I know all the Starbucks sells those cups but this one had some I haven't seen before. I'm aware that there is alot of discussion about Starbucks as an entity and the associated class warfare and union strikes. However, this is truly one of the worst coffee shops and/or Starbucks I have ever been in. Whatever business model that is could use a refresh. One person was making mobile and in-person orders, the cashier seemed baffled by my request to grind the coffee beans I was buying, and it looked as though a child had come in to play with bits of paper strewn about the floor. No music, either. I still tipped them, and I know what it's like to work a busy food service job. I don't go to Starbucks very often anymore because the service in general has gone downhill in the last 1-2 years. Mobile orders clog the in store experience. New CEO? Couldn't tell. read more

I came in there a couple of hours ago. The person in front of me has just had just ordered so I was the first in line and I waited no less than six minutes before I finally had to ask, can I please order? A young guy jumped in and said sure but the manager an older lady said no I need you to do this. It'll be just a minute ma'am. I waited at least another two minutes before I finally just left. I wish I was joking. There were no less than seven people behind the counter and not one of them was on the register taking orders. People come to Starbucks cause they're in a hurry. I was going to spend $14 today there on breakfast and coffee. I had an anxious dog in the car and a 30 minute drive and then I had to pick up my son and go back to work so I left hungry- Starving actually and without a coffee because of the incompetency at this location. The priority should always be the customer and you should always have somebody on the register, no matter what there was way too many people behind the counter, not helping customers. Staff was friendly and the space is beautiful. Wait time was irritating. Placed my order at the counter at 1:35p and it wasn't ready till almost 1:55p. All I ordered was a grande shaken espresso, no classic, w/ Caramel syrup. Even after 20min of waiting, they got my order wrong. I noticed that they filled all mobile orders first and then would switch to fulfilling the orders placed in-store--that seems rather ridiculous to me. There were 3 staff members behind the counter. Wow...the service here is lackluster at best ! 5 "baristas" behind the counter and no one cared to bat an eye at the line building at the counter. All kept talking amongst themselves for several minutes before even acknowledging/greet customers in the store. We all weren't sure if they had opened yet...but surely, it's past 09:00 AM! Not sure what was going on here but definitely recommend ordering ahead or just use another store altogether. read more

Some of these reviews remind me of the TripAdvisor sagas where the hotel AC was broken AND the neighborhood was dangerous AND they got bedbugs. On my visit, the service was fast and friendly, the condiment bar was in good shape and the iced Americano had just the right hints of earthy nuttiness. Hmm I DO NOT like this location ! It's in an inconvenient and hidden location. I went to Micheal's ( YES TO THOSE ARTS AND CRAFTS FANS- there's a Micheal's in NEWTON!!! FINALLY!) before it was opened and so I needed to waste some time. Starbucks was 1 minute away so I figured I will just drive there and get coffee. It took me 15 mins of me driving in circles between the 2-3 plazas. I double checked with the mall directory to see if Starbucks was there but it wasn't there. In case you never been there, its next door to the Soup Factory. Once I go in there, the waitstaff was a bit rude. Maybe it was my fault because I did not know the breakfast sandwiches were pre-made but please tell me that instead of eye-rolling and me guessing why. Eye rolling added with silence is really rude and reminds me of a 14 year old girl. And if your a vegetarian, some veggie eaters don't appreciate sausage meat touching the egg so it was a bit offensive to me ( so personal preference) when they told me they could just take out the sausage off and serve it to me. And they also eye rolled me when I wanted to use my starbucks card on my phone. Stop the eyerolling- like WTF. Bad: Door let's in cold air, tough to shield from it. Windows let bright sun in the late afternoons, making it tougher to work. Small, cramped space, seats roughly 15-20. Dirty floors with crumbs, wrappers, cereal bits, and sand/dirt. Faux wood table tops, unbalanced chairs and tables are a constant bother. Limited retail merchandise. No recycling. Gossiping workers behind the counter project a voice that is audible throughout the store and reveals all to personal details to the patrons. Messy behind the counter. Warm milk at the counters. Good Each sitting area has access to an outlet close by. Warm lighting and an attempt at rustic calming artwork depicting the bean harvest. Nice outdoor patio seating for warmer months. I had the tarragon chicken salad sandwhch. Could taste all the ingredients nicely, balanced flavors. The portion is a return to normalcy from what we now see in the jumbo age, but not worth 5.75 plus tax. Lots of baked items, though didn't purchase. Older crowd was present at the time. Owing to its location, there isn't easy access parking for a quick in and out visit. Needham Street isn't a friendly driving route. This is a third rate Starbucks location. read more

hmm somehow I wrote a review for the same location, but the wrong one?? Anyways, I frequent this location a lot. They have parking on both sides of the building so this is a plus. This location is a lot smaller than most so it can get a bit crowded. I really like the baristas. They are efficient and really nice. I dont usually lounge, I get my coffee and go, but theres indoor seating (limited) and outdoor patio seating which is nice for lunch breaks from work etc. read more

Yes! This Starbucks gets 4 stars!!! I always go around 2:30-3 with coworkers, and they do a good job. If, god forbid, we have to go to a different one, we are disappointed and frustrated and recognize we've made a mistake. +1 - They don't mess up your order +1 - Quick service And it's clean. Absolutely my favorite Starbucks in Newton/Needham hands down. I have never had an order messed up here. Closest that had ever came to happening was they were out of whipped cream and in the process of making more. No big right? well the guy behind the counter apologized than gave me a comp card as per corporate rules ( mind you very few places follow this)...way nicer than needed, but appreciated knowing most places could care less. Usually, I like Starbucks. A lot. This one is just a cut below the traditional Starbucks. Mainly, but in addition to its being poorly laid out and cramped, no bathroom. Eh? That makes zero sense, especially since they are located right off of the highway, Rte 128. That is part of the reason a person would interrupt a journey and jump off the highway. I have been to this Starbucks on several national holidays. Thanksgiving, the day after Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years, to name a few. Also, just about every Saturday and Sunday. No matter when I go, I get fantastic service. I can't even pretend to believe that the staff would want to work on Thanksgiving, but you would never know from their genuine smiles and kind attitudes. Ok...let's just start by saying I love Starbucks. Love the coffee and love the whole cafe style....however... This Starbucks is by far the worst in regard to the "new" renovation that has occurred. Totally not cohesive to the customer and the music they play is Awful...I spent 40 min too long here...they played non stop droning tunes from the 1930's...maybe it was to keep people from hanging out...but most people carry or have headphones on...I usually do but unfortunately didn't this time and I won't make that mistake again. read more

Hello, I would like to bring to your attention the worse experience of my life in a Starbucks Store. I went to the store located at 244 Needham St.Newton, MA. The person who was at the register is Barista Bayman. This person gave me such a hard time and nastiest attitude just because I had a large order for our corporate meeting at Atrius. As soon as I told her that it was a big order, she started making faces, she was laughing in the rudest way that you can imagine, and every time I would add an item she would sarcastically reply: Are you done? Is there more? I ordered 4 latte and 2 sandwiches. She definitely ruined my day. As soon as I came back to the office and shared my experience with my colleagues they told me that their experience at this location with this particular employee had been just awful. Please bring attention to this matter as this behavior in our community is rare and unacceptable. Please don't hesitate to contact me if further information is needed. This location is too small to handle a morning crowd, and a couple of the baristas need an attitude adjustment. If you hate your job, you know, the one where you have to interact with the public...then it is time to move on! All Starbucks-es are not created equal. This one's right around the corner from me and I find myself dropping by on mornings when I'm too lazy to make my own coffee. Speaking of which, of all the Starbucks I've visited, this one serves consistently good coffee (not burnt, like some others). The baristas are all really nice and seem to enjoy what they do (who would've thought?). Polite and excellent service. What a disappointment. I came here at 5 pm hoping to have coffee and do some reading but the atmosphere was so unappealing that I had to leave. When I ordered a decaf, they said they were out! What?!!! Never heard of this before. The woman behind had the same answer when she order an ice coffee. The staff was very nice but the store was filth especially the floor. Decided to skip a cookie in the case because a bug was in there. Also, it was so cold. It was colder than outside which is 62 degrees. read more
