I stopped by Cacao after a Pilates class next door and was pleasantly surprised! I didn't realize it was a Dominican coffee shop at first, but once I saw the decor, I had a little moment like, "wait a minute, why does all this feel familiar?!" And I may or may not be biased because I'll always support my people I ordered a buttered croissant and a dulce de leche latte to enjoy there. The space is homey and warm, the kind of place that immediately makes you feel grounded. For a few minutes, it really felt like home, especially seeing touches of my roots reflected in the atmosphere. The staff were super friendly and attentive, and there's a great variety of drinks and pastries. I'll definitely be back. So glad my friend recommended it.

PROBABLY THE BEST CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE IVE EVR HAD IN MY LIFE. Soft, decadent, and not too sweet. With a sprinkle of sea-salt. The mocha was also perfect - super rich but not overwhelming.

Killing time between appointments, my daughter and I stopped in and -- just WOW! A cappuccino, latte, chocolate croissants, and sampling of chocolates later, we knew we would be coming back! They are so nice and helpful and the Dominican deco is the perfect setting for relaxing, just wish there was more seating.

Food: Their iced oat matcha is amazing! You can clearly tell the matcha is good quality. So refreshing! Service: I came on a Tuesday morning at 9am, and there was like no one there (love that for me). The barista was also super nice and friendly! Ambiance: The store is so cute, with plenty of seating. The menu looks delicious, and a bunch of samples are displayed to make the store look even more aesthetic. I want to try everything on the menu! Will definitely be returning in the near future :)

A café dedicated to chocolate - yum! I was in the neighborhood, so I stopped by to try out some hot chocolate. I got the fleur de sel hot chocolate with a shot of espresso and my husband ordered a mocha. Both were delicious! The fleur de sel hot chocolate was very rich and very filling. Good for dessert (or for me it replaced breakfast today)! The mocha was bot as heavy but was well balanced and you could tell that the quality of the chocolate in it was superb. There are a few seats inside and the cafe was not busy, so it was a nice place to sit for a while to enjoy our drinks. We picked up some chocolate dipped pretzels and croissants to take home for later. They have chocolate dipped nuts, espresso beans, and fruit too in addition to chocolate bars and bonbons.

Cacao is the PERFECT place to press pause and spend a quiet moment with a cup of hot chocolate. The cafe is a beautiful homage to the cacao bean, ranging from its warm ambiance to their delectable bars, coffee, hot and cold beverages. Good customer service, too. We loved the classic and dulce de leche hot chocolates. YUM! Grab a seat to savor every bite and sip. If only Cacao was a little closer to home in NYC to become an integral part of my weekend routine.

I can't remember a more perfect cup of mocha! I love the real chocolate used in the latte. It's rich and still packs a caffeine boost. The chocolate mocha was the barista's favorite; I would also vouch that this is a solid choice. The dolche de leche was a bit too sweet for me, but that's expected for that flavor profile. Definitely great to stop by and warm up if you're around in Newton or Jamaica Plain. They sell nuts and chocolates that would make beautiful gifts as well.

i think that cacao is a bit over rated. i have to say that their service is excellent. baristas were very friendly and welcoming, and served us immediately. they are known for their chocolate, but i got their iced vanilla latte ($6.69!) the cup was tiny (probably equivalent to a starbucks tall) and it was +50 cents for vanilla and +75 cents for almond milk. i definitely should've tried their chocolate, but it was quite pricey! there's two small tables outside and two small tables inside, as well as a 3-seat bar. there's a bathroom for customers. the vibes of the cafe are great - definitely geared towards adults and people who are on a work break. overall rating: 8/10

Given constant traveling and life overall, we did not get to partake in a class of this type until Labor Day weekend in Boston. My companion set this up all by himself with the lovely Beth. Beth was very communicative, even giving us directions to her place, as well as to many of the attractions that the city of Boston has to offer. It was just us two, along with Beth and her husband Steve. They were so nice, making us feel very welcome in their home (because shockingly this is at their house!). Beth is a master at her craft. She's been making chocolate for years and it really shows. Her chocolate was so pretty and yummy. As for the actual chocolate-making class, we began with tasting chocolates from all around the world to then attempting to make our own. Have to say the chocolate was delicious and rich. Definitely not the type of thing you can eat all in one go unless you are a true chocolate lover. That said, this was quite fun and we took many goodies back home to Florida. Definitely something I would want to do again, and more so, Beth and Steve are such kind folk that you want to invite them out to lunch or something along those lines. Felt as if we were with friends.

Now they have canceled that option ...no phone calls accepted/returned new policy! I made 5-6 efforts yesterday to place an order and the computer program just will not accept the information and keeps stating that I need "To follow the format,..." which I thought I was doing. I wrote to their website/email and no response. I would just forget Fastachi totally at this point, never attempt to order again, however I had discussed some options with a client who chose to receive treats from them. I don't understand why I cannot simply order online and have it go through. It has never been a possibility for me over perhaps five years trying yo order online. Never had such a problem with other vendors! They even identify on the website the l item I want, which is a variety of chocolate bark as requested by my client. But, when I double click on it, I get all the chocolate treats and I cannot find the bark. I'm very very disappointed and not sure how I will handle this. Such inconvenience and lack of customer support. They apparently have expanded their services to other stores and have what looks like a large corporate clientele. I cannot understand why they no longer accept phone calls when their system to place orders just does not work! I would love help with this particularly for this one situation and then I wouldn't bother them again and not purchase their wonderful treats as gifts. To me this seems like a very poor resolution of a problem that should not exist in 2025 with current communication possibilities via computers. I'm very upset and disappointed. Marcia Tritter

Usually I take goods home w me but today wanted to order a gift for out of state delivery. Presume the quality of the gift will be nice as usual but the staff member acted as if she had better things to do. (It was not busy at the shop, only one other customer who was being taken care of), almost asked her if she was okay, came close to walking away without completing the order. Clearly, she dislikes her job and isn't interested in customer service. It's a bad look for Fastachi. We all have bad days but this person had a serious disregard for doing her job. Makes one hesitate to return.

My default is usually the 9-piece box. If I really like you, you get the 9-piece box (lollll). Walking up to the display case can be dangerous; it's so hard for me to choose flavors because I really just want to try them all. There are rows of beautiful handmade chocolates in every color imaginable, and the flavors are so much fun: Vietnamese coffee, cookie butter (Biscoff), passionfruit, strawberry matcha, lavender, macadamia praline, local honey, salted caramel, and so many more. They also make seasonal treats. Around Easter, there are gorgeous big chocolate eggs that you crack open to reveal candy inside (I was SO close to buying one for myself ), along with adorable little chocolate bunnies. The chocolates are almost too pretty to eat. (I said "almost", mind you.) You admire them for a little while, and then somehow they mysteriously disappear into your mouth. NOMZ! My personal favorites are the Vietnamese coffee (of course) and the cookie butter, while some of my friends swear by the passionfruit and the fruitier flavors. I don't think I've had a bad one yet. But here's one thing that has always stuck with me, it's something that happened when I was in the shop one afternoon. A family was sampling quite a few chocolates, and I remember feeling a little bad for the owner because they were so patient and generous with everyone. I ended up making sure I bought a box to bring to friends that day, not because anyone pressured me or anything, but...don't you just wanna support a small business run by genuinely kind people? I haven't found a chocolate-loving friend who wasn't thrilled to receive a box from Tick Tock. (One of my friends are the 9-piece box in a weekend. I can't blame them, but...)
