This Starbucks was a nice little caffeine stop during a recent shopping trip in Novato. We were picking up a few things at the shopping center before heading back to San Francisco, and fortunately, this Starbucks was conveniently located right at one end of the plaza. When I walked in, the atmosphere was calm and relaxed, with a few people quietly working on laptops or chatting over coffee. The young man who greeted me took my order for a small latte and ended up making it himself. Honestly, it was one of the better lattes I've had from Starbucks in quite a while, smooth, well-balanced, and exactly what I needed before the drive home. The café itself feels a bit tucked away and quieter than many other Starbucks locations, which actually adds to its charm. All Starbucks are *not* created equal. I prefer this location! Excellent, diverse genres of music. There's always a place to sit in their large dining area. I've never had to wait because there was a line. Not even once. They *always* have enough staff on hand. I appreciate you are greeted with a cheery "welcome in!" as soon as you walk in. Sometimes hurried--they have an active drive-up following. Food has high quality control--it always tastes as expected. In an era of unpredictability, this value here is appreciated. They've a really modern bay to wash and dry your hands (see photo). Fun to use. Always stocked. Patrons sometimes even chat with you, if they aren't on their computer or phone. Nicely smacks of the "third-place" coffeehouses of days-gone-by. Another lovely experience here. read more

The mobile app didn't save time. The drive thru often gives me bad orders, it's frustrating to wait for below average beverages and overdone food. Go to the Starbucks at the Vintage Mall. They are fast efficient and you get what you order This Starbucks went down hill. I don't put this on the staff. This Starbucks looks like it was remodeled not too long ago inside. The restrooms are modern and clean. The inside has all the modern decor / seating. The drive thru is clutch when you need a quick something in the go. However, the parking lot is shared with a jack in the box and mini mall shopping center so it's a bit tricky sometimes as the drive thru line blocks some cars parked. Not usually too busy to where that's an issue, but it's sometimes tricky for folks who park at Starbucks and have to wait for the line to pass. I frequent this Starbucks location the most because of how nice the staff is. I always have a great experience. I usually order from the drive thru which is fast and convenient. The line can be long sometimes though. Today I ordered a couple drinks and a sandwich from the drive thru. I'm currently dealing with an injury and I asked the lady at the window if there was any way she could pack the drinks to make it easy for me to walk with. She said she would figure out a way and she did! I'm grateful she took the time to pack my order up securely in a bag. They may be busy, but they also take care of their customers. read more

I know it's not cool to give Starbucks a good review. The social media managers at Starbucks have a tough job and probably does a shot (of espresso, or... ?!) every time there is a decent review. Well hold on to your hats, Social Media Managers at SB, here we go... Now that I have moved away from Novato, I feel nostalgic for this Starbucks location. As someone who works from home, this place was my office away from home. When I feel stir crazy and unfocused, I come here. It always gets me tuned into my work... and it's not only the caffeine. I just feel comfortable here. Mainly, it was the spaciousness of this SBs and plenty of tables, and windows with bright natural light. You can almost always get a table, WITH an outlet at every table. Clearly, others feel the same way about this SBs with other regulars stationed here as well. Even though I don't talk to anyone, other people seem to know each other. Which is kinda nice, even if I don't engage. :P Service has always been decent and I do like that there is a drive thru for when I feel really lazy on the go. They regularly give out samples of whatever seasonal thing is going on. Like I said, it's not cool to give Starbucks a good review. It's cooler to talk about the local coffee shops, and I try to go to those too. But sometimes when I'm doing work, I want to go to a reliable standby. And so I hate to admit it, but Starbucks have become that in the subconsciousness of my consumer behavior. Also, just a shout out for being able to get a drink 'for here' now and get your drink in a glass or mug. Makes it feel more cozy and of course contributes to sustainability. Please ya'll!! The Starbucks location on Redwood & Olive in Novsto has great staff! Unfortunately, the store is always filthy. Do you ever clean the floors, counters, chairs and windows? I've never seen any staff clean or wipe anything down. It's always disgusting. Today, there was bathroom trash outside of the bathroom in the hall! I've stopped going there because I can't stand to pick up my drink off of the dirty counter. Who in the world manages this place? read more

Now that we have a drive thru, I'm going to Starbucks more often. I usually get an iced tea or an iced coffee - both unsweetened. But about a month ago I discovered the Pistachio Lattes!! Omg they are sooooooo good!!! Hot AND cold! But now the promotion is over! It was a seasonal drink but the barista told me they will still have a few bottles of the pistachio syrup in the back and hopefully I'll get a really nice barista who won't mind making one -or 2 - for me. I thought it might be too sweet so I asked for 2 pumps. I learned that the way it comes with 4 pumps in a Venti is perfect. I'm jonesing for a nice hot Pistachio Latte right about now. Volume control I've been going to the Starbucks since it's open. I had a good experience. But today I ordered an iced coffee with light ice and light cream and they did a volume control. They did not fill up my cup Like they usually do. They are now doing volume control because they do not want to give me more coffee. So if I ask for a black coffee are you gonna fill it up all the way or are you going to put it down lower because there's no cream? I paid five dollars for half a drink. read more

I ordered the same thing I get whenever I go to Starbucks, a venti iced chai in a trenta cup with extra ice. The woman at the cash register responded by telling me they couldn't do that and then confirmed with another employee. Not the reason for the one star... It was the cash register woman's attitude when I explained to her that I always order it and it's not a problem at any other Starbucks that I go to. When she replied "well we don't do that here" , I simply said "ok, well I'll go to another Starbucks" and the woman behind the register and the other woman she spoke with started laughing.....such poor customer service. Over something as simple as getting a larger cup with extra ice. This is far and away our favorite Starbucks - for the following reasons: 1) Location. On Redwood and near Diablo, it's an easy jaunt from the freeway, or from most Novato spots. 2) Drive-thru. We don't generally go this route - see below - but the location access makes this an ideal stop when you're on the move. 3) Interior. There's generally plenty of seating room, and I see many people working here, reading, or just having conversations. Plus you can get a view of the (now) green, flowery hill on the other side of Redwood, with Ayawaska higher up. 4) Coffee - I won't say I'm the biggest fan of Starbucks in general from a coffee or value perspective, but the quality here is consistent and there seems to be more variety (available) than other Starbucks in the area. 5) Staff - this is where, in our opinion, this location really shines. The staff, all of whom are multitasking with both indoor and takeout orders, is incredibly efficient, friendly, and responsive. Reminds me a bit of In-N-Out from a service standpoint; maybe that's sacrilege (and the latter's employees make a better living overall), but this is a REALLY good crew. We keep coming back here, often in the afternoon just to relax with a coffee or cold drink and our reading material. Also - the bathrooms are clean, and the sink/soap/dryer combo is a nice feature too. read more

I literally just left starbucks and this time the drive-thru was empty so it was quick and I only had a 50 on me and 6 on my card and when it was time to pay he asked if i had anything smaller and i said no and maybe i could use my points to at least pay some on my card with the points and he said it was okay and that it was on the house and honestly he did nottt need to do that, it was so kind and i dont know if that was allowed or not but the customer service was amazing and he was so nice and understanding instead of being rude and denying me service. All I did was order on my phone a minute or two before coming because they're usually packed on weekends. I brought my father into this Starbucks, for the first time, to checks this Starbucks out. We had never been to this one before. We had planned on going in and I was really glad after I saw the long drive thru line. Walking in we walked right up to the counter and ordered our drinks and food. Everything came quickly. As we sat there for 30-45 min I noticed the drive through line was non stop crazy and the mobile take out orders were constant, as well. The drinks were always ready for the customers. My dad noticed that all the baristas seemed so pleasant and not crazy busy. They were busy but just constantly moving getting through the drinks. They really worked well together and we were quite impressed. I do believe it also helped that there were almost no walk ups so baristas were free to keep preparing food and drinks rather than deal with in store customers. Good job crew! read more

I enjoy this particular Starbucks. It is a newer facility and quite clean. As can be seen from the photos it is also quite spacious. Seating is very comfortable with the majority of the seating being cushioned benches. There is also usually plenty of space to have some privacy if you like. Kudos to the employees in that they are always friendly and very helpful. On one occasion I was in the store visiting and they had to close inside seating early because a few employees called in sick. The manager came around to the tables and apologized but he also offered me 2 $4 dollar gift cards for my trouble. I thought that was a very nice gesture. I recommend the location. read more

The drive thru person asked how my day was and I said not very good. He apologized and took my order. When I got to the window it was a lot less than I thought. Turns out he had paid for my drink. I was so touched I started to cry. What he didn't know is I had a very painful medical procedure yesterday only to come home to a very sick dog. On top of that, this morning, I was in a car accident on a hill in fairfax that nearly ended with me rolling off the side of it. i was very disappointed in this starbucks location... i usually go to a different starbucks location in corte madera town center. I get my usual order a grande pink drink and a turkey provolone pesto sandwich BUT i am unfortunately lactose intolerant and i kindly ask the employee who is taking my order if it's possible to take the cheese off before heating it up and they never have a issue with that they say yes all the time and at this novato location i happen to go through the drive thru and order my usual order and i kindly asked the girl who was taking my order if it's possible if it was possible to take the cheese off and she said "unfortunately we can't do that" and i was very disappointed in her response.. to cook the sandwich the employee takes opens up the packaging anyway to heat up the sandwich.. i didn't understand why they couldn't do that. i was very bitter about the situation and left with nothing i said "okay thank you i wont be ordering anything" and left. i speak for any lactose person i feel and starbucks should definitely should have more dairy free options involving the food.. all the sandwiches have cheese.. you can't even say "no cheese" on the starbucks app either. please do better starbucks! read more

The absolute worst Starbucks I've been to and I've been to Starbucks all over the world. Every "barista" in the place was wearing headsets so you could not tell if they were listening or not. No one was supervising the pick up counter. No one responded when I asked for help. The "barista" who finally responded made our drink wrong and through it out, after failing to make it in the first place. Then the one the "barista" finally made was terrible - half-assed give it half too much credit. And the "barista" was arrogant and dismissive. Went back to get some water and though three "baristas" saw me and acknowledged I was there, not one came to the counter to ask me what I needed/wanted. I had not complained or said anything negative. It's a shamefully bad set up and whoever is managing it should be fired. The team looked beat down and clearly had no pride in what they were doing. I find it very disturbing that I just waited 20 minutes for a cold tea inside and had to sit there and watch three rounds of cars go through the drive-through before I get my tea. I understand Starbucks workers completely due to me being a Starbucks worker before. I know the amount of annoying customers and I get the stressful hours. Here's my issue. At the drive thru I asked for a matcha, they even asked me if I wanted it cold and I said yes please. So they come out with a hot drink and I said sorry I had asked for it to be cold and she's like you did, okay. And walked back shaking her head. And I would understand if I had made the mistake in not saying the drink should be cold. But I had specifically said yes cold. So then one of the other workers (who was very sweet from the beginning) he had a lot of pins on his apron, he tried handing me the drink again and I said oh she's fixing me a cold since I asked for it.. and he turned to look at her and she was shaking her head again and when she saw I could see her she started smirking because she got caught.
