When you walk in, there is a case of pre-made juices and also a kiosk to order bowls or smoothies. They have a good assortment of acai-type bowls with fruit, yogurt, granola, etc. I got the PB&J one and it was delicious. It seemed like it would be easy to customize exactly what you want but I was fine with the standard order. There were plenty of tables outside and inside to sit and enjoy. So, I wanted to share my experience with this Nektar in Novato. I met the Owner Victoria we were chatting over the new menu and all the cool waffles they had. Although I chickened out and for my usual açaí bowl with peanut butter she noticed I liked peanut butter and gave me a complimenting waffle to taste bananas chocolate drizzle and peanut butter - of course. Do not go here. It took 45 minutes to get a smoothie and theyre expensive. Save yourself time, frustration and your $$.

Food is great but refused to take my $2 bill, claiming that they had no way to test for being counterfeit. 1) it costs $20-$30 to counterfeit paper currency, so doing this for a $2 bill would result in a loss 2) my total was $27, I paid with a $20, a $5 and the $2 bills. If they are so concerned about being counterfeit, why didn't they check the other bills 3) this is legal US currency tender, it should not be refused. Horrible policy and customer service read more

I'm a big fan of the juices, but the online ordering is becoming available less and less frequently. Last time the order ahead option wasn't available, I called to place the order and they told me that they didn't accept phone orders. I've been here multiple times and the smoothies have been pretty inconsistent in texture and quality. I've also seen the two owners arguing in front of customers and employees, which made the atmosphere feel tense and uncomfortable. On one visit, I overheard staff mentioning how hot it was in the back area, which was concerning to hear. I've also noticed the owners appear to live comfortably, which made the situation feel frustrating from a customer perspective. In my opinion, the prices feel high for the overall experience. I'd personally give it 0 stars and wouldn't go back. There are other spots in town like Active Culture or Jamba Juice I'd choose instead. read more

Nectar is one of the only açai bowl places that I could find in which they add protein into the bowl, the customization process is very flexible and overall I would recommend coming here if you want a beneficial snack/lunch. However, it was pretty unclear where I was supposed to order, and the staff making the drinks/bowls didn't really bother to point me in the right direction, I noticed this happened to the next 2 customers that walked in. Hear me out - no judgement. Sometimes I want something healthy but I am too lazy to make it myself. Even worse? Buying fruits and veggies to clean them and then make my smoothie but clean my vitamix and the related kitten items deters me from said healthy craving. You feel this - right? I love nekter for my healthy craving fix. I know I can get a smoothie (drink or bowl) exactly how I like it delivered to my house in the same amount of time it would take me to make it myself. Impossibly fresh, delicious, well priced. Yes to that! Time is money. I work from home. The amount of work to make a smoothie while I am engrossed in my work just doesn't motivate me. I love it sm. It so yummy and the bowl is rlly big aswell. Definitely serve the right amount. My bowl was 11.05 (am guessing. It around 11-12 per bowl). To add on more topping it cost more and there gluten free options (but u gotta pay extra. Which is stupid lol). I noticed an immediate difference when I walked in now that it is under new ownership - the store is so clean and employees are friendly! This is my daughters favorite place to go after ballet on a Saturday. This is the last time I attempt to get a drink at Nekter. For the past several months I've shown up there an hour or two before closing and have been made to stand by the register waiting for someone in the back to acknowledge me. When they do they say that they are closed. If you happen to actually get someone to take your order be prepared for a very very long wait. Today was the last straw. The place was filled with people waiting which should have been my clue to run. I went ahead and ordered and 30 minutes later I'm still waiting for my drink. In fact I haven't seen anyone get anything from behind the counter. 3 staff members- one washing strawberries, one packing bowls for the refrigerator case and one taking out the trash. The woman next to me says she has been waiting an hour. This place needs to be closed as it is an absolute disgrace to any sort of customer service and remarkable there is no manager or owner trying to get things sorted out. There is no acknowledgement from the staff when you come in. It feels like I'm bothering them. I'm also very disappointed about the size of the Acai bowls. I've been getting the same thing for years and now they fill the bowls half way. When I asked one of the girls there today why the size is so much smaller and, she said it depends on who makes it and then said it's because of the new owners. This is very upsetting!!! I rely on this for my breakfast/lunch. I count calories and now it doesn't fill me up. I'm VERY unhappy about this!!! I used to work at nekter and I love still going back! I love the Orange Crush and I add some chia seeds. I also love the PB bowl! My only problem is the lack of consistency! Sometimes my bowl is like a melted smoothie and sometimes it's fine. The smoothies sometimes lack flavor and kind of taste like crushed ice. I had a very unpleasant experience at the Hamilton store last week. It was my second visit and after I placed my order, I stood and watched all those who ordered after me get their orders and leave. When I asked why, I was told it went by time. I told them I was there way before everyone else. After waiting for 45 minutes, I asked for a refund. The girl told me she didn't have the authority and she had to text the owner. I couldn't wait any longer and finally decided to ask for my receipt and left. I called and spoke to the owner/manager the next day. He said he had spoken to his employees about the situation and asked if I wanted to drive there to get what I had ordered. I told him I lived far away and couldn't so he refunded my money (which is what should have been done in the first place). As part of good customer service, it would have been nice of him to offer to comp my next visit. He could have sent a gift card or anything that would have made me want to go to his store again. I really loved this place when they made smoothies with edible items. I can see from all the negative reviews that not much has changed. It's unfortunate and frightening that two of my smoothies within around the same month had sharp bits of pits or rubber bands chopped up in it. The manager got back to me the next day with an apology and offered me a refund and replacement, which was nice. But sadly, I don't trust their store anymore after my experience with unsafe items in my smoothie, and after reading all the reviews that show little improvement. And honestly, corporate should investigate these serious issues. The first time, it could have broke my tooth. The second time, swallowing bits of rubber bands ... I just don't know. Please be careful and aware of anything that may have been dropped and chopped up into your smoothie. First time going to Nékter in years. I just wanted to grab a quick protein smoothie after a doctor's appointment. I got the Chocolate Peanut butter Protein Smoothie without cacao nibs. The consistency was as thin as a juice. I don't know if that's how the smoothie is suppose to come but I prefer to have my protein smoothies with more substance. And the favor wasn't there either, it predominantly tasted like milk with the only flavor coming from unblended bits on peanut butter and banana. Next time I'll keep my money and make my own at home where I can control the consistency. read more
