When you walk inside there is a runner leading up to the counter with their case of delicious looking eats and a platform above with an old Indian motorcycle perched looking over the place. To the right of the counter are some toys for the kids, including a kids motorcycle and other funs toys to keep the kiddos busy while their parents enjoy a magically concocted coffee drink by the shops artisans. There are comfy little sitting areas composed of oversized furniture from your parents basement. The front has a few racks of leather jackets that feels like your at The Alley's northern location. They do have some hats and apparel for their own shop and I almost bought a hat. On the left side, they have another seating area, but it looks more like a table in a cozy kitchen than a sitting room. It's quaint no matter where you look or sit. Lastly, their drinks and food are quite good. With all the stand alone coffee places popping up, Grinds N Gears is one of the cooler places and I don't mean hipster.

Small yet cozy Starbucks that makes great coffees. This is very convenient for metra users as it's walking distance from the station. It's very clean and all the people working here are very nice. They genuinely care for their regulars. I highly recommend this Starbucks for their heigh quality coffee . They have food items too, and they can be bit expensive. If you are looking to get some work done this Starbucks is a bit small for that, but if you are looking for a highly quality coffee on the fly this place is great. read more

I strongly dislike this Starbucks, I went to go get a cup of water on a hot summers day and they denied me of it, they said I needed to make a purchase to get water, pretty sure that's illegal. I had to kill time before a movie at the Pickwick and decided on coffee and sweets from Starbucks. Coffee great and nice afternoon to sit outside in the fresh air. Walked around the little courtyard and noticed a cute little frame shop between the theaters. Looks like the frame shop has some really cool frames and will require a visit sometime soon. For drinks, I tried the Banana Matcha and the Caramelicious Latte. Unfortunately, the Banana Matcha really didn't taste like banana at all, which was disappointing because I was excited for something different. It was in the sweeter side. The bigger letdown was the Caramelicious Latte. Mine seemed to be missing the caramel completely, it honestly tasted like plain cold foam over a regular latte with little to no sweetness or flavor. Considering it's one of their signature drinks, I expected much more. For food, I ordered the waffle sandwich and the bagel sandwich.
