This is my second time here and it's amazing as it was the first time. I love coming here later in the evening or at night as they stay open late. It's very family friendly, and there is plenty of seating. I ordered their pineapple passionfruit refresher and my boyfriend got their cloud matcha latte. He said it was very good and I loved my refresher. We also tried the mango pastry and the Oreo cheesecake. Both were 10/10. Unfortunately I spilled my boyfriend's matcha everywhere and felt so guilty. The cleaning staff was super polite and told us not to worry about it. I was craving cardamom coffee and we decided to stopped by Haraz to try it out. Very spacious and a lot of parking spot. They even had a quiet room with door for coworking/studying. Went with their all spice mofawar, and a cleaner palate one Qishr since hubby wanted something tea-like. After ordering all that, we noticed there's a separate tea option that had a citrusy flavor so we got the sunlit tangerine also. The drinks were very strong in a whole mix of spice flavors, which I actually really liked, but it is a little too watery, not dense or creamy enough, and the coffee flavor lean a bit more too acidic/sour. It's not bad, but I think it's just not exactly to my liking. What I didn't realize was that a lot of the spices sunk to the bottom so when I remixed the thic layer of spices with oatmilk at home, it tasted pretty good with the right consistency. All of the drinks were pretty diluted in our opinion, and I think it's too much spice for my husband although I liked it. I also ordered some pastries, but the server packed the wrong one. If I didn't look closely enough I might've missed that. There was one last Dubai pistachio cookie which I asked for, but they gave me the Biscoff cookie instead which was a less expensive one. Anyway, they were fine switching it out after I pointed out, but no apologies or anything. While we weren't impressed with the drinks at first, the medovik mouse/honey layered cake was really good-- it was pretty dense where the buttery parts were, and it was pretty sweet so it balanced well with the acidic coffee. We didn't know the cookie had more fillings on the inside until we got home. The fillings had crunchy flakes which adds a really nice texture, and the filling is not too sweet. Really good. We liked the pastries a lot more than the coffee. Perhaps we just aren't used to the flavor and taste profile of the coffee. I'd be willing to try more here. read more

Space is pretty big and nicely spread out so you're not sitting on top of one another. Just super expensive, especially for the bakery items! Like almost $15 a slice, which is crazy to me. Came to Haraz with friends for dessert and drinks, and it was such a cute place to hang out. We ordered a mix of cakes, tea, and drinks for the table, and everything was beautifully presented. My friend and I met for coffee, attracted by the menu and beautiful decor. We were sad to discover that it's not as it appears. Staff weren't friendly and one person was watching TV on their mobile phone which we could hear 20ft away. My $17 green tea and pistachio cheesecake weren't worth it. Haraz Coffee House is a newer one, and as other cafes, they offers various coffees and pastries. We had the Pistachio Latte with almond milk and a strawberry cup; both were just less than mediocre - the latte itself was not extra hot, as requested, and barely had much of a flavor to it; it seemed as it was mostly steamed milk. The strawberry dessert cup had an off taste to it, and was just tossed. Staff were friendly, and they bring out your order(s) to your table. Pure coincidence this was my third time driving by a Haraz and all different locations. The service was fast and great. Inside was huge and really nice... probably the best out of all the others. The pastry section was way more and it was busy. Since I was randomly driving by I did not get a chance to try any of the desserts, had dinner plans I did not want to ruin. However did get the strawberry lemonade refresher for the rest of my drive and it was delicious. Since I have family in the area I'll definitely come back to this location and explore more of the menu here. read more

The best latte hands down. So glad they opened up one in Gurnee. I had the salted caramel latte and my friend had the cold pistachio latte. Bothe were sooooo good!!!! Haraz Coffee House is a beautiful new coffee house in the Ron Center next to Arby's. I stopped by in the late morning and the cafe was fairly quiet with a few patrons working on laptops and a few having meetings. There is a large parking lot. It's elegant with a lot of tables, tempting pastries and chocolate desserts (Dubai chocolate) in cases. Haraz serves organic coffee from Yemen: from traditional coffees with cardamom to chai, lattes, frappes, refreshers...and you can sub the milk for almond or oat milk. I tried a cold pistachio latte with oat milk and this stunning drink was as good as it looked, with real pistachio and Haraz spice. The bee bites were lightly toasted, with a light essence of cream cheese, sprinkled with sesame seeds and accompanied by honey. It was delicious and hard to limit myself. One of the best coffees I've ever had but also the most expensive coffee I've ever had. $7.50 for an 8 ounce cup of caramel cappuccino deliciousness is a lot after tax, $ 8.35 to be exact for Golf/ Skokie area. I was a little shocked and afraid to ask how much a 16 ounce was. It was no doubt absolutely delicious - the coffee roast was out of this world delicious and so fresh. I didn't have any dessert but the cakes were very reasonably priced with the exception of a few but go check that out of yourself! I do want to go back and check out the dessert because they looked scrumptious and one thing I really appreciate about all the Yemeni coffee shops that have opened up in the Nile's/ Skokie area is that most of them don't offer the same- same dessert options. Haraz offers Ferraro rocher cake which other places don't. The only reason I am giving them a 4 star is because there is one garbage can for a relatively large area space and I understand why because the staff are going around to pick up the coffee and food trays but for example, I'm a mom of two small children- I need accessibility to a garbage in the event that I have things to throw away. I could foresee this being a problem when the space is busy- which I think it gets very busy on the weekends. It's a very open and vibrant space- a lot of room and even for a Monday at noon, it had a good amount of people. Service is slow- they had three staff working of which two were in the coffee/food area and one was cleaning tables. It's hard cause I would give this place a 4.5, but if I have to choose between a 4 and a 5, this is a 5. In comparison to like Matari or Qawhah house, this might be the best one! Decor is top notch, just as beautiful as the others. I do wish they cleaned a little more often cause the tables were slightly dirty but we found a clean one. The lady at the counter was very nice and patient. The chai was a 4/5, I got the Adeni chai but I myself may just not be a huge fan of Adeni chai in general. So I finally checked out that new place everyone's been talking about you know, the one with all the mixed reviews? I had to see for myself! Wow, it's HUGE and really nicely done inside. First off, the staff were absolutely fantastic super friendly, helpful, and really knew their stuff. Top-notch customer service! I went a little crazy with the ordering, I got a giant Adeni chai it comes in a coffee pot, served with cute little glass mugs. Seriously, the spices were incredible such a rich, flavorful chai. I also snagged an iced caramel macchiato, which was equally delicious. For the sweet stuff, I dove into a pistachio cheesecake. Let me tell you, it was AMAZING. I read a review comparing it to Cheesecake Factory, but honestly? Way better! The pistachio sauce was the perfect touch. I also tried their Dubai chocolate bar much fancier than your average grocery store bar and the tiramisu 3 milk cake both were winners. The mango fruit mousse was a bit of a miss though, more style than substance. They also have some great kidfriendly options,I tried the mango pineapple smoothie and strawberry lemonade, both tasteful and refreshing.Only downside? It's a little pricey. I've been here about 5 times and it's very disappointing that they say their app is not working so I have not been able to use the $5 off first visit coupon nor have I been able to collect points during any of my visits! The desserts have an artistically beautiful presentation but the taste is just ok. Lastly, the prices are definitely high. This coffee shop is spacious and has a beautiful aesthetic and it's very bright. Great for working or studying with light popular music playing at a great level to still concentrate or have conversations, but if you have work calls it may not work. They have a wide variety of dessert offerings and drink selections including the Saudi coffee (includes cinnamon, cardamom) which I hadn't seen before. My cousin got the Turkish and she loved it. The bee bites were super tasty and I loved the croissant too after being toasted. They bring the coffee and treats to you so no need to get back up to grab them. Gotta love that service. There is a lot water station too. They have beautiful chairs but if you have hips then go for the booth. There is plenty of seating and all the booth seating has outlets as well for working remotely there. A wonderful place! I would highly recommend and return. read more

Ordered a chocolate hazelnut croissant, removed it from container to eat, was warm to touch but not hot. As I bit into it, the filling was so hot it burned my tongue, began bleeding. Burned me so badly I had to go to hospital. Burns to tongue and throat, needing medications to help heal. Would never recommend this place for my experience and the value. Caution! LOL at the "beautifully aesthetic" BS words people be writing about places like this, people who are FOOLED by image, bad quality, and overall TRASH not just in food, but people, places, and things. This is a new addition in north cook county suburbs area. We visited this place on their third day of opening. Waited for about 20 minutes in line to order and then additional 25 minutes for our order to arrive. My saffron latte was okay nothing out of the ordinary.
