This location is always packed every single day at 11:00 AM. I waited 12 minutes for a frappuccino and egg bites. I do not understand why it takes that long for two things. I prefer the Des Plaines Starbucks, since I live in that area and those baristas make my drinks must faster. Also, the staff seems to have a problem with people under the age of 18. They have a sign saying that people under 18 should be with an adult to sit inside. It's really misunderstanding as to why they have to do this. I hate to say this, but based on the long wait times, the store being packed every day, and barely any parking, I don't think I will return any time soon.

    3 incorrect drinks.

Bought 4 drinks and 3 out of the 4 were incorrect. Ordered a venti iced peach tea with lemonade and received what seems to be a TALL with NO LEMONADE whatsoever. Was charged for a grander though Ordered 2 Tall Bubblegum frappes and received 2 tall strawberry frappes. Who gets 3 out of 4 drinks incorrectly? I guess they didn't feel like making the correct drinks since they would be closing soon. Never going to this location. Would have preferred them telling that they would close soon instead of wasting money there.

I didn't take this but got it off another site.

The staff has always been very nice, there is lots of seating and space, and a good amount of parking. What else could you want?

Way better than the other Starbucks, they give you water without having to purchase something, unlike the other one.

Now this is a cool concept. Let's back up. I meet a couple of friends on Sunday mornings at coffee…read moreshops and cafes. No chains, just stand alone locations. Each place has a theme, or a charm all its own and Grind N Gears Cafe is one of the latter. When you pull up you immediately recognize the place as a former body shop or service station. Not a as station, but a body shop. They have their own small parking lot in front with special motorcycle parking on the sides of the lot. It's a small place. When you walk inside there is a runner leading up to the counter with their case of delicious looking eats and a platform above with an old Indian motorcycle perched looking over the place. To the right of the counter are some toys for the kids, including a kids motorcycle and other funs toys to keep the kiddos busy while their parents enjoy a magically concocted coffee drink by the shops artisans. There are comfy little sitting areas composed of oversized furniture from your parents basement. The front has a few racks of leather jackets that feels like your at The Alley's northern location. They do have some hats and apparel for their own shop and I almost bought a hat. On the left side, they have another seating area, but it looks more like a table in a cozy kitchen than a sitting room. It's quaint no matter where you look or sit. Lastly, their drinks and food are quite good. With all the stand alone coffee places popping up, Grinds N Gears is one of the cooler places and I don't mean hipster.

Service isn't the best, but the coffee seems okay, maybe a little better than average…read more Nice concept, but they should put bike people can touch even if they're from the scrapyard. That would automatically make it cooler here.

stopped in (finally) to pick up a few treats to entertain guests coming for coffee. Great…read moreassortment to choose from.. difficult even, but we were able to fill a box to everyone's enjoyment. I really liked the assortment of cakes, pies, cookies and more available and will certainly be back again.. and again. A suggestion: While I was intrigued by the sandwich board I had no way to know what the sandwich would look like. Bread? pandora? Ciabatta? 6", 8", 10", 12"... or bread loaf slices? So my suggestion is they get some photos taken or make a few sandwiches wrapped and ready to grab n go. Make one of each and see what sells. I'd use sandwiches as a way to bring in customers who will then purchase a pastry or cookie.. or come back when they need something sweet. sorry, no photos... pastries were gone too fast and they were delicious.

I had delicious coffee, pastry, and gelato. I received good, friendly service. I had a cream and fruits filled croissant, coffee, and a cup of gelato with coconut and pistachio flavors. They were all delicious and pretty good. The gentleman who served me gave me a generous portion of their homemade gelato which was creamy and flavorful. I enjoyed my experience here. I liked the variety of pastries and other sweet treats this fime establishment had to offer. I definitely recommend checking them out.
