Very unhappy with my experience this morning at this Starbucks. A shorter, older lady with a pixie haircut screamed at me after another customer had taken my sandwich, so I had asked her to remake it. She screamed at me saying that there were so many people in the store and it was basically not her problem. Not the way you want to speak to customers and I left the second she talked to me like that because I didn't want to make a scene. Don't work in fast food if you can't handle a rush. And to add, the store definitely wasn't short staffed. There we're over 8 workers behind the counter. I never received my sandwich. read more

This time my drink was good but the barista said she couldn't scan the QR code on my Starbucks app and that I needed to convert it to a barcode. Really! It's the app provided by Starbucks. I'm not one to complain about a drink being wrong because it's not that big of a deal but it's a rip off at this point. We went in there and I asked for light ice, but there was almost MORE ice added. It was a pink drink and all it was is coconut milk. My boyfriend got a tea and it was practically water. And the amount of ice they put in it was ridiculous. I'm sorry but $12 for those drinks is bull crap. Not happy at all, Starbucks needs to learn that no one wants to pay for ice. This is the only Starbucks around and it is located in the Harris Teeter so it is run by HT employees in Starbuck garb. This is good and bad. The good is that since they are really HT employees they are not allowed to have that "tip jar" out so you can tip them for making you a $5 coffee. The bad is that they are not "real" barristas with genuine Starbucks training. Sometimes the drinks are good and sometimes they are not - it's hit or miss. The employees seem to rotate often too. Overall it's not bad and it is the only SB around for miles. Good seating area and TV but very cold and hard - don't expect couches and plush armchairs by a nice fireplace. read more

Oh how I looked forward to this new Starbucks! Upon entering you are immediately struck with the thought that there are few comfortable places to sit. Only the few seats and tables by the western side window are somewhat comfortable. All the other chairs practically scream "Drink your coffee and leave!" If you want to spend some down time with a friend or your computer while drinking coffee, go to Market Street Coffee or Loco Joe's where you can sit on comfortable chairs and feel welcome. read more

He is slow and condescending. Dude- you are making coffee not designing plans for the space shuttle. I waited a couple months before writing a review because this store is so new. In the beginning there were a lot of hiccups and some orders they got wrong for me as well as taking over 20 minutes to get my order sometimes which is why I can't give 5 stars. But recently in the past few weeks I have noticed a lot of improvement and better routine on the employees part. The manager is very focused and I applaud her on the effort I can clearly tell she puts in. So although I think the beginning was rough, this Starbucks is doing much better in my opinion ! read more

Not the greatest Starbucks. It's shiny and new, and has a drive thru, which is good. And lots of to go food items. So that's nice too. Unfortunately, they are working on a new computer system, so they aren't willing to customize your drink beyond what it can accept. I ordered a grande caramel macchiato with 1/2 the pumps (I don't like it quite so sweet), and they said they couldn't do that. The grande has three pumps and the computer system wouldn't accept 1.5 pumps, so I had to choose 1 pump or 2 pumps. I chose 1- and didn't like my drink. Also, with the new computer system they won't start drinks until everything is paid for. So my husband's frappicino, which he had ordered well before my conversation about my drink, wasn't started until after the computer sent it to the barista (who was standing next to the cash register just waiting until the computer spit out the next order), which resulted in a huge backup behind us. Finally, the seating is not comfy and cozy. I know- none of these things are horrible, but I'll be going back to the Starbucks counter in Harris teeter across the parking lot, where the baristas use common sense and are happy to quickly make me my coffee the way I like it. read more

I worked at Starbucks for four years during college. Take the worst Starbucks you've ever been to, and it is probably head and shoulders above this place. Every time I go in, it's a bad experience. Employees sitting around doing nothing while there is a line. Several times, my order was never made, with no apologies offered. It's not even close to a high volume store, either. How do you forget someone's order when there are two people in line? Most recently I saw them using a plastic pitcher in lieu of the metal carafes for brewing coffee. I told the girl at the register that that isn't a good idea. She told me it was fine. I told her that food-grade plastic is not rated for anything over 180 degrees (I work in beverage production) and she rudely told me it was fine. No, it's not fine, you are serving people melted plastic. I'll still go here, because it's the only Starbucks in town. I hope someone from corporate reads this. read more

The coffee is usually spot on! I'd say 9/10 times I'm happy with my purchase. It's definitely the slowest service I've ever had at a Starbucks, especially drive through. It can take 15 mins up to a half hour at times for a dumb cup of coffee! Even when they're not busy it's super slow. But if you have a car full of kids what can you do? All in all I appreciate that it's there and look forward to my splurge. read more

Not the same level of service as most Starbucks. The barista added so much extra ice to my grande iced coffee that it spilled all over the top and down the sides. The person that called my name didn't notice it was dripping coffe everywhere. I said, Its all wet, and she proceeded to wipe it off with the rag they use, probably, for the counter. I get a 7 pump chai no water EVERY time i go to starbucks which is 3 to 4 times a week. Today was the third and last time i tried to get one at the purcey starbucks stand alone (not inside the Harris teeter). Today it didn't even taste like tea. I went back to barrista and asked for two more pumps. After pumping for 3 times she discovered it was completely empty and had been dispensing nothing but air. Every other starbucks in northern virginia get it right, but this starbucks is incapable of making a strong chai. And the barrista made it seem like it was my fault she did it wrong and that I had some kind of nerve for pointing it out. After 3 tries I got a mild chai that was luke warm by the time they retrieved a new bag of chai. Don't bother with this place. Staff are rude and chai is pathetic. read more

Fantastic establishment. The staff at this Starbucks consistently battle the elements to stay open as much as possible. I was yearning for some caffeine in the middle of an intense ice storm and guess who was open? Not only were the employees of this organization enthusiastic about doing their job (on a day where nobody should have been driving), but they were also extremely friendly. My order has never been anything but PERFECT and I will continue to satisfy my caffeine addiction through them. Finally, I recommend that anyone who visits this Starbucks location to ask for the barista named "Sam". She is absolutely fantastic and will give you a reason to look forward to your morning commute to work! I hope this helps... read more

I'm not sure what it is about this location. I have gone there 5 times since it opened. Every time my order has been incorrect. For some reason they won't accept the fact that people don't want to add flavoring to their drinks. I order a skim latte and I have ended up with a vanilla latte on a few occasions. Generally, they mess up on the size of the drink. You order a venti and to them that equates to a tall. My friend ordered a banana loaf and instead she received 2 cake pops. This being said, its been quite disappointing to say the least. I rarely had the "non"baristas at the Harris Teeter Starbucks mess up on my order. I have gone at least once a week since opening and I order the same chai... 9 out of 10 times I feel like I'm drinking warm milk... they apparently either forget to put in the chai or sometimes I drink warm milk down to the bottom and then am overwhelmed with the last quarter being just straight chai.... they didn't mix it... yet that one time it is correct it's wonderful!!! Worst Starbucks I've ever been to and I travel a lot and seek them out across the country. Waited in drive thru for 40 min only to be given wrong beverage. Usually, at other Starbucks drive thrus, they read the label on the drink and confirm when handing it to you. They didn't, the label was blank (just coffee and I'd ordered chai latte), so then had to park, dodge pouring rain and wait another 30 min inside the store for someone to help me. There were only 3 customers inside. Not going back to this one. The Starbucks counter in the nearby grocery store (across the parking lot) does a better job. read more
