Absolute delicious bliss! We partnered with Sweet Rose Bakeshop after traversing northern Virginia in search of the perfect wedding cake. I stopped by Sweet Rose Bakeshop, while exploring Purcellville, and looking for a place to get breakfast and a coffee. This seems to be the type of place where you can order custom birthday cakes, cookies and cupcakes. They had a video playing of all of their cool creations. They were really well stocked with all kinds of cakes, cookies and cupcakes. I got the spinach Quiche, they had a few other varieties. They don't really make anything fresh for breakfast, which is a bit disappointing. The Quiche was heated for me. I also got their Iced Chai Latte. The Spinach Quiche was made with feta cheese, spinach and egg of course. It was a good size about the size of a small saucer plate. It was warm, but something about it, wasn't amazing. I ate it, it was fine, but something was missing. My Chai Latte was also fine. They didn't really craft anything with it. They put half of the chai concentrate and half milk, over ice and that's it. It tasted fine. I'm disappointed that nothing was freshly made. While it looks as they would make delicious sweet treats here, it wasn't something I was looking to get during my time at the store. read more

This is a well priced local bakery that offers custom cakes and cupcakes as well as an assortment of pastries, mini Bundt cakes, freshly made muffins and croissants. Everything is made on the premises and sometimes the more popular items will sell out. (My friend snagged the last cinnamon roll while I was dithering over what to buy - you snooze you lose!). I bought mini chocolate and lemon bundts and both apple and blueberry turnovers. All were delicious. The bundts were very moist AND light, not an easy feat to achieve. The turnovers were flaky, rich and buttery with ample fruit filling that was just sweet enough (not over sweetened). Items are well priced for the quality of the product. I never thought that I would find such high quality baked goods in Purcellville, but I'm so glad I stumbled upon Sweet Rose. I stopped by during covid, so didn't go inside the bakery. They had menus outside and had us order from a window. It felt safe! I got the quiche lorraine, cinnamon bun, and pumpkin bread loaf. The quiche is one of the best that I've had! The filling had plenty of mushrooms, onions, and ham. It was well seasoned (not too salty) and the crust was buttery, flaky, and not too greasy! I highly recommend it. I'm not a huge cinnamon bun fan usually, but their cream cheese icing was perfect and not too sweet. The bun also had a lot of cinnamon filling! The pumpkin bread was delicious, although nothing too remarkable! Can't wait to stop by and grab some more baked goods! Especially quiche! read more

I went in to grab coffee and sweets with my mom and daughter. There was no one in there when we got in. I ordered two coffees and the lady started making them. Three people came in and she just stopped with my order and went on to the others. That is okay, but another girl came out and sort of started on my drinks. She had the order wrong. I went up to stand and wait because it was obviously not getting them soon. I told her that we were the first ones in and I'm waiting on my coffees. She told me that they were closed so I was lucky that I was getting anything. She then looked at the receipt and said you have only been here eight minutes and it takes longer than that to make them. Maybe she should have said something like I'm so sorry, we are closing. Your order will be right up. Keeping my money, she told me to go to Starbucks down the Street. I said you had better give me my money back because I didn't get my order. She said "is that a threat". They ruined our Sunday outing with their bad manners. Don't want to hurt a local business, but I've never had such dried out pastries and donuts to any other backers in the area. They make cakes as much as I could tell. All the fillings in the pastries and donuts are buttercream. Probably the leftover buttercream from the cakes they throw it inside the filling-pastries and donuts. I went in to try it out since I am a local and I wanted to see for myself, but I never visited again and it's been over 2 years. I heard some elderly individual at my gym saying only good things about it. But I doubt they know what good pastry and donuts are.... After a 25 mile bike ride at the end of the W&OD path you arrive in Purceville and across from path is the bakery. It smells ssssooooooo good inside and it's very welcoming They have a few table and chairs outside along with benches across the bakery so they accommodate quite a few people. I shopped around and found that Sweet Rose bakery was less than 1/2 what every other good bakery was asking. However, most importantly, the taste was amazing. The coffee was amazing, the baked treat I tried was unbelievably OUTSTANDING, the service is friendly and very nice and the venue is beautiful, artistic and picture perfect! They have a huge selection of baked goods, all prepared in-house... plenty of pumpkin treats for those of us who LOVE pumpkin treat season! I was less than impressed w/the customer service. My order was screwed up, my espresso came out the size of a large coffee ~ & in a wasteful container ( i specified for here),& i hate being wasteful. The Americano was yummy, hand crafted and the espresso was not burnt. Now the apple fritter is a whole other story! It is, take you out of way good to eat! Especially if you get it warmed up! I've tried a lot of apple fritters in my life and they did it right. The apple to dough ratio was spot on and the crispiness of the outside made every very bite a delight! To be honest, if you put anything less than 4 stars on yelp for Sweet Rose Bakeshop, you're a bum! The workers here are amazing and you can tell they really care about their job, and most importantly they are invested in the bakery. Came here late Saturday afternoon, a few things were picked over but they still had a decent amount left. I got a cinnamon sugar donut, pepperoni roll, and cinnamon bun with icing. I got everything to go, and put the pepperoni roll in the oven before eating, it was good and filling! I then ate the donut and again warmed it up a bit and seriously the best donut I think I've ever had. It was perfectly sweet and dough like. The perfect balance!! This is a cute little shop with nice tables to enjoy your treats. They serve coffee, etc but we didn't sample. We tried 3 items. The cost was ~$10. The vanilla cupcake was not very good. The cupcake itself was very dry and not very flavorful. The icing - way too much for the size of the cupcake - was too sweet. The Nutella croissant was too sweet. I love Nutella but I think it would help if they used less and didn't add the chocolate drizzle on top. My favorite was the walnut cinnamon bundt cake. It was moist and cinnamony and the flavor went all through the cake. If I return, I'd get the last again but try other items. read more

I want to support local shops, but this place obviously does not need any more business. I sent a Facebook message and emailed 4 days before the event and didn't receive a reply so I stopped in the following day to see about getting a small simple cake made for my child's 2nd birthday. I was told in person that technically I am within the requested time to order, but that they could not take my order because they are booked. However I could stop back in over the weekend since they will be making cakes to sell from the case and it's possible they could add a few embellishments. I don't get it. The last time I purchased several the day I was having company, a guest commented that the little Bundt cake was very dry And didn't finish it. It was a bit embarrasing so I don't go back. Grant it, the pastries are very good. The waitress at the front is always so sweet and helpful,,,,,HOWEVER, if you should ask for anything extra, icing ect, the back staff are always rude and not helpful at all. I feel when you pay EXTRA for such extras, they would be accommodating. It's always an issue. It helps to stop in here to pick up things for business meetings, but just not worth dealing with anything custom.
