Only one person sitting inside downstairs, likely because it was so beautiful outside. My espresso was a bit bland and not too hot. Apparently the Yelp listing has been updated, thank God. When I brought this up for the second time two days ago, this reply was "You didn't buy anything when you reminded me about updating my Yelp listing". This ad hominem comeback does nothing to help his business, and instead of humbly acknowledging my helpful suggestion, he made that nasty comment, which by the way was incorrect. I always buy coffee and pastry when I visit this place. I told him that if his expenses exceed his profits, he will need to close down because he has formidable competition two blocks down on the same street in the name of a coffee shop called Press and Porter. The customer always benefits from competition, and when I was at Press & Porter two days ago, I counted 29 people in there, and upon returning to Crane Coffee, there were only four people in there. I have never seen more than seven people in there at one time. The manager has an incredible responsibility to make this place successful and quickly, because there are 14 other retail establishments in this building, now called Concord Exchange. You could say that his location is the anchor store, being on the second floor and overlooking Union Street. If he needs to close due to lack of profits, you can imagine the repercussions that would have for the 14 other retail establishments in this recently renovated downtown Concord building. His coffee shop would be the first one to fail in this venture. Keep in mind, I am a fan of this place and I left a five star review previously, and my comments are only meant to help the manager right this ship. As a successful small business owner myself, I always cheer for the underdog, and I would really like him to be successful.
