Starbucks located on Washington and Falcon in Mission Hills is the closest one to Scripps. Admittedly, I have a Love Hate thing for Starbucks. Love some of the creative coffee concoctions, Hate dealing with some unprofessional rude staffers and uncleanliness of the cafes. Have been coming here for over a year and a half, mostly via mobile order, occasionally snap a pic and just leave. The cafe is cleaner than other SBs in the area. Mobile orders are usually timely. The manager and many staffers are not cordial, but there has been improvement. Starbucks Corp major issues stems from the fact that bad service from staffers are just not appreciated by customers, and many customers will boycott to express their displeasure despite being fans of some great coffee drinks. One can easily is addicted to these drinks, specially the sugary calories content can force you to put in more time burning those calories off at the gym ugh! I had to reduce my consumption of the sweeter coffee drinks and started enjoying the unsweetened Iced Nitro coffee with a couple of espresso shots, a non dairy creamer and topped with dashes of cinnamon for healthy benefits. Yesterday, was National Coffee Day 09/29/25 I placed a mobile order and as I picked up my drink, saw one of the staffers who had always been really nice and helpful every time I've come in. Her friendly demeanor has been consistent and genuine, and it would be nice if All staff can be the same. Very, very impressed with this Starbucks location!!! How often do you get a patient, cheerful service at an incredibly busy time? I came in on a Friday morning and the place was packed! Not only were all the seats occupied, but people were also in line waiting for their drinks and also putting in orders. And you can see that they have tons of drinks ready to be picked up at the counter. They were busy, no kidding. I placed my order through the app and waited for my drink to be ready but after more than 10 min, I haven't seen my drink and I was wondering if it got missed. I went over to the counter and asked about it and the staff helping out with carrying out the drinks the barista made helped me out. She went to check the queue to see if my drink was still in queue or it got missed. She came back saying that it's in the queue and would be out shortly. It's a simple thing but her cheerfulness and helpfulness felt sincere and that means a lot. Thank you! My drink, Americano with the NEW banana protein cold foam, came out perfect. I regret pre-tipping on my mobile order. Arrived here 6mins within my 3-6min mobile order estimate. I walk in and there is no line. There are 8 customers working on laptops at tables, 2-3 customers sitting waiting on orders, and 1 person standing waiting for his order. I spot the mobile order pickup on the left counter space, and there are 2 beverages there. I wait another 3 mins, watching as other customers are greeted as they come into the place; I was not greeted. About 7mins go by and I am checking out the merchandise, moving around, and I end up going to the regular order pickup station. My drink wasn't there either...so finally, after 10mins, the young female Hispanic counter person asks me if I am there for a pickup. I tell her, "yes". She asks me what name, and I tell her my name. I see the barista is just finishing up my grande matcha frappe and so does the first young lady she. She says, "it's almost ready.." She would have known what I was there for if she had greeted me upon arrival, like she greeted everyone else who came into after me (3-4 people). Also, she let me walk around for 10mins in the store before she asked me what I was there for. I don't wanna make this about ethnicity, but...yeah I am the only person who looks like me, ethnicity-wise, in this joint. They didn't want my business, so I will warn others who look similar to me to not patronize this location. I waited 16 mins for my beverage, the app said 3-6 mins. I could understand if they were "busy" but not at all was that the case. It was just downright being rude and horrible customer service. This Starbucks location always gets my order wrong. It's not even a hit or miss, it's always a miss. Onetime I had to drive to the location because they got my Uber Eats order wrong. Another time they got the mango refresher order wrong stating it's new and are not sure how to make it. I will no longer come to this location. read more

As a USPS employee working long hours delivering mail, I stopped into this Starbucks hoping to quickly use the restroom. I was told I couldn't use it unless I purchased a beverage. I understand store policy, but basic human decency should apply--especially for uniformed public service workers like myself who are just trying to get through the day. When I got to the location Greg the manager as you can see in my pictures told me he would not make my drink even though I was told over the phone they would. Just came here to get a coffee with my partner in which they made him make a purchase to use the restroom before hand which he was going to do, but they insisted that he make the purchase beforehand. As waiting for him to come out of the bathroom, a little boy, and his father came in and the little boy needed to pee they would not allow a little boy to pee because his father did not make a purchase. One of the best, most consistent, and clean Starbucks in San Diego! Everyone in the store is kind, helpful, and does their best to make your experience a great one! There's free parking in the back or metered street parking right in the front. (In the early morning hours, it's free!) This store is always well stocked and has a plethora of goods for your needs. The drinks always come out in a timely manner and are consistently great. There's plenty of seating inside and also a small patio outside for you to slowly savor your drinks and food/snacks. I keep forgetting (I'm only in this area like once a month) that this Starbucks is just... not great. Once they didn't call out my name, just moved my drink to a pickup shelf. I stood around for a while wondering where my drink was. The bathrooms are supposed to be for customers, and you need a code, but are often occupied by homeless people. Recently I was there when there were several people in line for the one bathroom. I watched and they waited more than 10 minutes. Staff knocked on the door. Nothing. Everyone continued to wait. I was lucky enough to find parking outside half a block away on Washington. Thankfully, as I always do, I placed my order via the mobile app. I was able to walk right in and there it was waiting for me on the rack. Really nice place in the middle of mission hills. The people in there are always nice. Parking in the back is shared with a condo, which sometimes makes it difficult to find a spot during certain hours. I always get the americano, and they dont mind putting an ice cube in it to make it not super hot. There's a couple other restaurants near by as well as a spa, and a bakery. Happy drinks read more

This location is the worst if you feel that customer service is important. As a person who's worked both back and front of the house, I feel very strongly about customer interactions. Granted, it was a Friday morning (8am) and the staff was busy. However; I don't feel that is ever a reason to treat customers badly. A staff member whose name tag said "Yolanda (Naval Spouse)" was rude and downright disrespectful towards me for little to no reason. I asked a simple question and was treated, by this staff member, with derision and outright disrespect. I asked if my order was ready and received a sarcastic response that was unmannerly and uncalled for. I have never before been to a Starbucks and left feeling as if I would cry out of anger and embarrassment. I ended up apologizing for my part in the misunderstanding, but never even got a fake sorry much less an apology from the staff member Yolanda and continued being ignored by her. Today they didn't honor the Starbucks refill policy, insisting the original drink must be the same, however the corporate policy states "regardless of the original beverage." Starbucks of course is the scourge of all coffee snobs. They talk about smaller coffee places squeezed out but the truth is, this is the closest one to me (although Its a Grind just opened a couple of blocks). However, I am addicted to the Starbucks Cafe Mocha, at first milk did not agree with me (lactose intolerant) so I never really bought it at all. Then I discovered the soy milk in Cafe Mocha tastes the same as with milk with no stomach ache. I rarely drink soy milk except to pour in my coffee. Now I pour coffee in my soy milk (how ironic). Okay to get back to these particular Starbucks. They know me and I have been a regular for like ages (or at least the last 2 years since we moved to Mission Hills). However, I always have fun on how they spell my name. And of course sometimes, there is a newbie, they ask me for my name and they constantly misspell my name. Its fun, I think the first couple of months, my name was misspelled one way or another. I just didn't know you can misspell Melanio so many times, Milano, Milanio, Melani, Milan, etc. However, my routine has become to go get my cafe mocha with soy with whip (tapers the hotness of the coffee) before work and before shopping on Sundays. I have cut down from 6 days a week to 3 days a week (I buy the Thur Union Trib, Fri NYTimes and Sund NYTmes) , the other weekdays, I live with coffee made at work with my coffeemate. Again Curse on you OPEC!! But for a Starbucks, this one is pretty friendly and not too big for its britches.
