Iced Pecan Crunch Oatmeal Latte 12floz Tall $6.25 (08/29/25 FR). @Starbucks #MissionHills #SanDiego #Coffee #Latte #DrinkPic
Jeff B.

(Drank 08/29/2025 FR @ 11:00am): Oh my stars... I'm still amazed at the amount of bucks people pay for the caffeinated drinks made here! My realtor and I ended up at San Diego's Mission Hills Starbucks location as a spot for her to get her daily morning coffee and for us to go over our day's plans of touring investment properties in the area. Our first tour was literally minutes away, so the convenience was the winning factor. The Starbucks brand had become a global force with seemingly no slowing down in sight with the exception of the ebb-and-flow of the economic market. Did this Starbucks location provide what we needed on our trip!? PURCHASE Iced Pecan Crunch Oatmeal Latte 12floz Tall ($6.25): As most of you know, I'm not a coffee drinker nor was I a caffeine fiend as many of my friends. However, I was with someone who needed her fix, so we stopped by, I saw the advertising for this drink, and I was sold (damn marketers)! I loved pecans (mainly in baked goods), and it sounded very much like a breakfast drink, so why not!? Thankfully, it was perfect with the hot weather, the pecan flavor was nutty and soothing, and the crunch oatmeal which was mainly on top and slightly mixed in, it felt as if I was drinking oatmeal. I enjoyed it, but this was a one-and-done thing for me. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=Mezv1dBcYKSR_O6G9V2pFw SERVICE I was warmly greeted by a young woman behind the counter who easily and quickly took my order, and minutes later my name was called as my order was ready - easy-peasy! PARKING (Varied; FREE this instance) Thankfully, we found a spot in their tiny shared lot directly behind the store. Otherwise, there appeared to be limited parking along the main drag of Washington St. and nearby surrounding side streets - 'nuff said. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE Your typical Starbucks layout with the order counter, display food cases, and visible price menu the main focal points, an assortment of places to sit inside while you enjoyed your drink or work, a small outdoor patio with a couple of tables, and your usual mix of promotional ads. Plenty of natural lighting came in through the many large glass windows and doors while a mix of recessed and track electric ceiling lights filled in the rest. There were no TVs while pop music played in the background. ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL Starbucks' Mission Hills San Diego location filled an immediate need for my realtor and I and was conveniently located close to the first property tour of the day. We both enjoyed our respective drinks, had the opportunity to discuss and review our plans for the day, and it was perfectly located for the many businesses in the area. As with most coffee shops now, they also sold pastries, sandwiches, and a smattering of other snacks. And, they had their own rewards program for free food. The prices seemed comparable, they had a good selection of items, and the service was friendly and quick. I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $6.00 BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... AMEX! 4.0 STARS

I regret pre-tipping on my mobile order. Arrived here 6mins within my 3-6min mobile order estimate. I walk in and there is no line. There are 8 customers working on laptops at tables, 2-3 customers sitting waiting on orders, and 1 person standing waiting for his order. I spot the mobile order pickup on the left counter space, and there are 2 beverages there. I wait another 3 mins, watching as other customers are greeted as they come into the place; I was not greeted. About 7mins go by and I am checking out the merchandise, moving around, and I end up going to the regular order pickup station. My drink wasn't there either...so finally, after 10mins, the young female Hispanic counter person asks me if I am there for a pickup. I tell her, "yes". She asks me what name, and I tell her my name. I see the barista is just finishing up my grande matcha frappe and so does the first young lady she. She says, "it's almost ready.." She would have known what I was there for if she had greeted me upon arrival, like she greeted everyone else who came into after me (3-4 people). Also, she let me walk around for 10mins in the store before she asked me what I was there for. I don't wanna make this about ethnicity, but...yeah I am the only person who looks like me, ethnicity-wise, in this joint. They didn't want my business, so I will warn others who look similar to me to not patronize this location. I waited 16 mins for my beverage, the app said 3-6 mins. I could understand if they were "busy" but not at all was that the case. It was just downright being rude and horrible customer service. Merchandise here is cool, floors are tidy, tables are all taken up, and return dish bucket is FULL OF DIRTY DISHES from breakfast & lunch rush....and it's 4:20p.

Greg refused to remake my drink after it was made wrong.

This location promised to make my drink that they made wrong over the phone. When I got to the location Greg the manager as you can see in my pictures told me he would not make my drink even though I was told over the phone they would. I even brought the drink back which was not drank and he still refused to remake my drink. I advise people to not go to this location as you can see from my experience they treat customers horrible here.

I haven't been to this location before, but I was on my way to the airport and decided to pit stop here as I waited for the plane to come in. This place is busy! I was lucky enough to find parking outside half a block away on Washington. Thankfully, as I always do, I placed my order via the mobile app. I was able to walk right in and there it was waiting for me on the rack. It took a minute for the busy staff to notice me and ask what I needed. I asked for my mobile order and she handed it to me. There were almost a dozen people in line waiting to order! For this location specifically, if you don't want to wait, place your order via the app! You're welcome!

Idk what everyone says about Starbucks but this location has extremely kind and nice baristas here. I want to shoutout Alex (she is a girl) who was soooo nice to me on this Thursday afternoon. Please give Alex a raise and promote her to the head of Starbucks customer service.

Manny and the girls making the drinks were super friendly and had good energy. The parking sucks but that's not their fault.

By far, the BEST Starbucks in San Diego, expertly managed by Bobby and Greg and a very smart and competent staff.

Sundae in young coconut - 5/5, definitely worth the splurge! I love that after finishing the sundae, you can eat the coconut meat inside. We got mango, coconut, and Thai tea ice cream scoops. The coconut is soo refreshing and the mango is very fruit forward without any artificial flavor or being a sorbet! Thai tea is on the sweeter side, but very delicious. Mango sticky rice - 5/5, the sticky rice is cooked well and not wet! The coconut sauce is not too sweet and the mangos were super sweet!!! They did justice to an iconic staple!

It is a very small coffee shop that is really just a counter area without seating. When I walked up, there was one staff member working. He was friendly. They had a small menu of specialty coffee drinks listed for the holidays. It appears that they serve wine as well, as there was a list of wines by the glass on the same menu. I decided on the iced pistachio latte, as I absolutely love pistachio, and it was a bit of a warm day. I asked for nonfat milk, which is getting harder to come by at small coffee shops, so I was glad they could accommodate. I waited a couple minutes, as the staff had to leave to go get my requested nonfat milk from what appears to be a larger storage area. There are not seats in Coffee Culture, however, the small seating in the public market is quite cute and there was plenty of seating near the fountain. My drink was, unfortunately, just OK. It was a typical iced latte. It was slightly sweet and had no pistachio flavor at all. I'm guessing it was made with a simple pistachio syrup, and no real pistachio. I was a bit disappointed. If I were shopping in Old Town, I might stop in Coffee Culture for a quick coffee to go, but I would't order anything too fancy.
