I love the vibe of this place! It's super cute, welcoming, and has a lot of different food options all in one spot. It kind of reminds me of a little food court, but with a more unique and local feel. They have everything from ice cream and sushi to Mexican treats, so there's plenty to choose from. It's the kind of place where you can come back multiple times and try something new each visit. I ordered the Espresso Horchata, and it was so good! Definitely one of my favorite drinks I've had in a while. The coffee was smooth and the horchata flavor was just right. I was able to find parking pretty easily during the week, but I can imagine it gets busy on the weekends. Overall, such a fun spot with a great atmosphere. I revisited and tried their Strawberry Matcha Latte again. After my previous review, the quality of the drink has gotten better with more matcha being put into the drink compared to before! Price is still a little high for the drink (but it is in a touristy location so inevitable), but now it is more worth it and tastes better! read more

I went early and there was plenty of parking and no wait. They are a small cafe with no indoor seating but they have plenty of seats on the little outdoor patio. There is a nice water fountain near so it gives it a relaxing ambiance. The baristas were very kind and welcoming and answered all the questions I had. I told them what I liked and they recommended my drink. They had a few pastries to choose from as well as some food items. I think everything was reasonably priced and the wait wasn't long at all. Little coffee shop located in the Old Town Market Food Hall. I like the ambience in there, it's breezy and cheerful. The oat milk latte I ordered was good but I wish I would've realized they used Cafe Moto beans for their espresso because it is so strong. I probably would've asked for just one shot of espresso in my latte. Kudos to them though for using a local roaster! I love that. I stopped on early Sunday morning here for a cortado. The cortado was $5. I thought the cortado was a little ruff up front and towards the end. In other words, it had an initial bitter flavor and final bitter flavor, too. It had a decent coffee flavor in the middle. Simply put. the cortado was okay. They may consider cleaning their espresso machine if that was the culprit. The service was mixed. The young lady who took my order and made the cortado was friendly with a good sense of humor, but the you man working with her would not engage in friendly conversation nor offer a salutation. He seemed more preoccupied with what he was listening to on his earbuds. It's important to remember to greet your patrons and to thank them for visiting. They are helping pay your bills. The coffee shop is located at the Old Town Urban Market. There's plenty of outdoor covered seating at the market. read more

I came across Coffee Culture while doing some holiday shopping in Old Town. I felt a need for a little caffeine boost and found Coffee Culture in the small public market. It is a very small coffee shop that is really just a counter area without seating. When I walked up, there was one staff member working. He was friendly. They had a small menu of specialty coffee drinks listed for the holidays. It appears that they serve wine as well, as there was a list of wines by the glass on the same menu. I decided on the iced pistachio latte, as I absolutely love pistachio, and it was a bit of a warm day. I asked for nonfat milk, which is getting harder to come by at small coffee shops, so I was glad they could accommodate. I waited a couple minutes, as the staff had to leave to go get my requested nonfat milk from what appears to be a larger storage area. There are not seats in Coffee Culture, however, the small seating in the public market is quite cute and there was plenty of seating near the fountain. My drink was, unfortunately, just OK. It was a typical iced latte. It was slightly sweet and had no pistachio flavor at all. I'm guessing it was made with a simple pistachio syrup, and no real pistachio. I was a bit disappointed. If I were shopping in Old Town, I might stop in Coffee Culture for a quick coffee to go, but I would't order anything too fancy. read more

Cute spot in Old Town area! It's packed away into a structure that shares the space with 3 other restaurants. The menu is cohesive and lists the prices. They have pastries, teas, coffee, etc. After a hike, I wanted something refreshing and so I got a 12 oz of one of their teas-- Lavender Hibiscus. She mentioned it is one of their popular flavors that they make. It was surprisingly a delicious combination. The lavender wasn't overpowering and the hibiscus was fragrant. It was around $5.39! Interior space was small, but clean and organized. This is more of an order and then find seating spot, or take it to walk around with. I'd recommend coming here if you're in the area! read more

Located inside the Urban Market food hall in Old Town San Diego is the latest shop to open Coffee Culture. Free parking across the street was a convenient. The shop is micro small, with only a ordering stand, no seating inside or outside, just a standing counter you can place your drink/food. When I stepped inside the shop there was nobody around. I took pics of the menu and the small pastry display case, interesting Trés Leches croissant and with pastries not looking fresh. Just as I was about to walk away, a male staffer walked in apologetic for not being present. Staffer was nice. Because my intention was to try one of their specialty drinks, I didn't walk away and ordered the Iced Strawberry Matcha Latte. No available non dairy options, just whole milk :( I observed the staffer wear new gloves prior to prep. I took multiple pics of the surrounding art mural with this drink. But after sipping and tasting it, before and post stirring, this drink was just to sweet.. like drinking strawberry jam through the straw, that later Made Me Sick with a Headache :(( The strawberry flavor was too overwhelming, while the matcha flavor diminished. Additionally, despite my ordering it iced, the drink was warm and not chilled enough...warm whole milk, super sweet strawberry matcha was UNdrinkable!! Sadly, this drink made to the trash bin. Good effort but the final product was a NO. Perhaps, the staff need to be more mindful of being present at their coffee stand and maki be sure the drinks are prepared as requested, Not Luke Warm but chilled, cold ICED...because if you don't know the difference between coffee temperatures, you don't have culture, no for coffee culture! read more

Shop is clean and the coffee smell is alluring. Barista is a young gentleman who knows his coffee, plus he likes the same kinds of coffee as me which is a plus cause he makes them to perfection. Yum! I'm always on the hunt for a cute coffee shop that has a good vibe and great coffee! The pistachio matcha latte was perfect on this rainy day. Smooth, creamy, just the right amount of sweetness, absolute perfection. I was hesitant at first because I'm picky with my pistachio, it can't be perfumey or too sweet and this was the best pistachio I'd ever had. It was like they squeezed fresh pistachios into my drink. I was also hesitant because I generally don't like matcha but the matcha was not bitter and so mild yet tasty. The barista recommended it and he delivered! Who knew I'd love pistachio and matcha so much that it's worth me driving out of my way to come here because I know I'll be craving it again very soon. I've had a lot of vanilla lattes in my life and this was my least favorite. Ordered two vanilla lattes. Coffee here is on the pricey side $7.50 for a 16oz before tax/tip. Coffee came out super quick, almost too quick which makes me wondered how they were able to extract the espresso shots. I prefer whole milk but they use reduced fat. So the coffee was too watery for my liking. It was also too sweet and had an artificial flavor. It reminded me of 7 eleven coffee. The guy who took our order and made the coffee was really nice. They also take military discount. There is shared outside seating with other businesses. read more

I ordered coffee and my wife got matcha, both were good and met expectations.
